Jumpity Jump Jump!
Saturday. 3.24.07 1:44 am
Today, we went out and bought Gregory a Rainforest Jumparoo. Just in case you have no idea what I'm talking about (which I'm sure most of you don't), here's a photo:

He absolutely loves this jumpy seat. His feet are barely touching the floor (which is great, because it forces him to jump) and he will just jump and jump and play with the little toys. There's a parrot and a frog hanging up from the top and when he first sat in the seat, I think he was confused about what to do in it. He sat there for a while, but then he saw the frog. BOY, he had the cutest little conversation with that frog. He'd smile at it and stare and start talking to it. It was so cute!

In other news, Brian and I went and worked out tonight. My main goal is to do cardio and try to burn off some weight and calories. I know it's not good to just do cardio for hour upon hour, so I did accomplish my goal of completing the Treadclimber workout (20 minutes) and I was proud of myself. When I go back, I will definitely be doing another Treadclimber workout (possibly a different one) and starting off that way. I did the shoulder press and then I started to do some crunches and abdominal workouts. If anything, I need to lose the flab around my abs. I really hate feeling like the Pillsbury Doughboy when I think of my stomach. You can literally push on it and wait for the "woo hoo" to come out. It's embarrassing and I'm tired of it. After that, I did some thigh workouts and a calf one and then I thought I could do the machine that works like the Gizelle (that crappy infomercial with that blonde haired guy with a pony-tail. My legs started going, but I was so not going...it was too weird to me. SO, I climbed on the stair stepper and about killed myself. I think I'm going to stick with the Treadclimber.

I weighed myself tonight so I knew where I started and what I need to weigh to get to my goals. I've set them low at first. My first goal is to lose 10 pounds. That shouldn't be too hard. Then it's 20 pounds. If I lose 20 pounds, I'll be below the dreaded 200 mark and I'll be extremely happy! Then it's 50 more pounds from there to reach my goal of losing 70 pounds. We'll see if it works. I'm crossing my fingers. I'm going to start eating better and exercising more and I just hope the weight will come off.

But yeah...I hate to dwell on weight because it's such a touchy subject. It's damn depressing. I'll talk about video games then...

One night, I had some downtime while Greg was sleeping, so I started playing "Viva Piñata!" That game is so addictive! The main goal of the game is to make a garden that is so cool that it attracts piñatas. You get all sorts of different ones that come into your garden, depending on how well it is doing. Here's a screen shot:

I haven't gotten to the point that I have horsey piñatas running all of the place in my garden. I mostly have bugs and worms. I do have some birds, but they haven't fallen in love yet (so there won't be little birds)...I did get the worms romancing, so I have TONS of worms...and probably more than I need. But yeah...I'm addicted!

And now, I'm tired...

I LOVE THIS!
Wednesday. 3.21.07 1:53 pm
Crochetmama suggested that I go to 43 Things to start my list that I wanted to and I absolutely love that site!

I've already got 27 things on my list, and I know I can get more things on there...well, up to 43 things.

I never realized how hard it is to find a daycare for my son. Places say that they take 6 week old babies, but seriously...how often do you see 6 week old babies in daycare? They hardly ever take the babies...and it sucks! Gregory is 10 weeks, so he's moving on up there. He's getting older and whatnot and he can do more things, but I also have to go back to work full time...and he needs to go somewhere :( I feel bad for the little guy. He sees so many people and whatnot. I wish I could be there with him all the time and then we wouldn't have to worry about all this daycare business.

You know, the one time where he's the most active and alert is during the day and that's when I'm working. It breaks me heart...I hope he remembers me and all that and will still enjoy seeing me at night when I come home. I'm sure he will, but he seems to be more talkative in the morning and he definitely likes to be talked to in the morning. I talked to him a good 40 minutes this morning...the cute little guy. He just didn't want to go to sleep before I left for work, so I played with him on the couch and fed him his food and tickled his feet. I love the way that I can smile at him and he smiles back at me...and he giggles and talks to me too!

BUT YEAH, I don't want to keep dwelling on the fact that I'm sitting at work and my son is sitting at home...I'll catch ya'll later...

The gym...
Wednesday. 3.21.07 12:48 am
Brian and I went to work out at the gym tonight...and BOY, I realize that I am completely out of shape.

The first thing I did when I went in there was get on the bicycle (the one that doesn't look like a bike, but you are pedaling a lot). I did it for about 5 minutes and that was enough for me. I was out of breath and my heart rate was just insane. My goal was 129, but I was well above that at 160.

After that, we went to the weight machines and I worked my legs, thighs, and glutes! I did a lot of the arm machines, but I didn't find anything that worked the abdomen. You'd think they'd have machines that helped with crunches and all that, but nothing. By then, Brian was feeling sick, so he went to the bathroom. Me, I went to the tread climber and walked for about 6 minutes before I was just exhausted.

I am so out of shape :( My goal is to actually complete a full work out and feel good about it afterwards. I think I need to work on cardio and just fat burning to get some of this baby weight off and some of the other weight off. I need to set goals and stick to them.

I should make a list of things that I want to accomplish:

1) Drink only water
2) Complete a 20 minute work out on the tread climber

I'll have to add more to my list later. I really like the list that stlcardsgal86 has on her site and I might do a take on that. I'll have to work on more things to put on my list though besides just drinking water and completing a 20 minute work out on the tread climber.

In other news, I heard that they are moving our department upstairs in our office building. When that happens, it will be extra peachy keen! No more dealing with the other departments face to face...we'll be upstairs! The other awesome thing about that is that my friend works for a design firm and her firm is the one that is actually designing our space plan and doing the space upstairs! What are the chances of that happening?!

I have a feeling that they'll be using Steelcase for our cubicles and whatnot since they have mostly Steelcase things in there right now. Click the link if you want to see some pretty cool office furniture. I know when I thought of offices before I went into Interior Design, I did not think that they could look that cool. The cubes at my work right now are blah...and that's what most cubicles look like, but these actually make cubicles fun!

She said that there are a lot of 8x8 cubicles and then there are some 8x6 cubicles. I really hope that I would get one of the 8x8 cubicles because 2 feet really makes a big difference.

Either way, I'm sure I'll be happy just going upstairs! I get to ride the elevator to get to work...OR, I can just take the stairs (but that's not as fun)...

BUT YEAH...I think I'm going to sleep or something. I've got work to do in the morning...ugh...work...

It's lunch time!
Tuesday. 3.20.07 1:36 pm
AND, I'm actually eating somewhat healthy. I've got my Progresso vegetable soup and I'm good to go. Yummy yummy yummy!

I signed up for 24 Fitness today. They are giving a FANTABULOUS deal to my work for sign up, so I jumped on that bandwagon. It's about damn time I started to get into shape and I think this will actually let me do it. When Greg's 6 months old, I can actually take him to the gym with me and they have a babysitting of sorts. They have a 6 month minimum though, so he can't stay in there until then. It's not that bad though...all we have to do is find a baby sitter for him for a few hours and we can go work out. I don't think that'll be that hard. They are open 24 hours and all. Because I'm so self conscious, I would want to go there late at night or super early in the morning though because I don't like people watching me on the workout equipment...OKAY, I know I'm a tard...but still!!

Anyway, I better eat some food and do some working...

The Internet...
Monday. 3.19.07 2:39 pm
ever since Brian moved into my apartment and hooked up his computer, my Internet has ran like shit. It's SOOOOO slow. I have cable Internet!

Before he hooked his computer up, he talked about how fast my Internet was and all that jazz. My Internet was so fantastic...

The only thing I can think of is that he's stealing all the bandwidth and I'm left with the shit sandwich.

I used to be able to play World of Warcraft and my latency would be 32mpbs or something (in the green), and now, I play World of Warcraft, my latency is 1634mpbs or some random number way up there (way in the red)...what the hell?!

My work's Internet runs faster than my home Internet and they have 900 times more people sharing their bandwidth...this blows...

So sorry...
Sunday. 3.18.07 5:48 pm
I'm such a horrible person. I've not posted anything since I got my new cell phone. Many things have happened since then that I've not said anything about, so eh...

On Wednesday when I posted about my phone, I neglected to discuss my ER visit on Monday.

I took Gregory for his shots on Monday (which he did fantastically for). He had 4 shots (2 in each leg) and he was only fussy for a little bit). They were out of the rotovirus vaccine, so we didn't get that one (but he'll get it soon enough). When I got to the doctor's office, I realized that I had a flat tire. I had to call Brian to come and change my flat...we then had to go get two new tires on the front (need to get my front end aligned). Midway through Greg's doctor's appointment, I was getting really bad back pain...it didn't go away (as it usually does) during the appointment and it didn't go away at the tire place...it got worse. I went home and it was just insane. I couldn't handle Greg because it was so unbearable. Brian wasn't at home yet and I couldn't handle it. I called the ambulance and they took Greg and I to the hospital.

I went through a myriad of tests again (which included a chest x-ray and another CT scan) and there still isn't anything wrong with me...that they could find. I have another prescription for vicadin though...ugh. I just wish they would find out what was wrong with me.

SO, I went to work on Wednesday and Thursday this week...Saturday, I was supposed to go out for St. Patrick's Day, but I didn't have a baby sitter for Greg. Today, I went to a Mary Kay party...and bought make-up that I'll probably never wear because I don't wear make-up...

But yeah...there's my mini update.

AND, finally...little Gregory has gone to sleep. He's been up since 9am today, so it being 4pm right now...he's been up for 7 hours straight. He better sleep good tonight!

lunch time...
Wednesday. 3.14.07 2:31 pm
It's lunch time...and I'm eating Qdoba. It's nice to come to work once this week and get a free lunch :)

Last night, I went out and upgraded my phone. I was tired of the text messaging thing not working. They told me to go upgrade the software on it...SO, I went and upgraded the software and it still did not work. It wasn't worth the $50 for the damn thing...SO, I just got a new phone.

Here's a picture of it:

This isn't my exact phone...mine is red and so far, I like it. The screen is all touch sensitive and whatnot. It can hold a mini-SD card, so I can listen to mp3's and whatnot on it, if I wanted to.

I was messing around with it last night and downloading ringtones for people.

I downloaded "Bullet" by Covenant to be Brian's ring tone.
I downloaded "Personal Jesus" by Depeche Mode to be Melissa's ring tone (it's our song...it always came on when we went into the bars and stuff).
I downloaded "Fuego" by Bond to be my mom's ring tone (Bond is a classical rock band of sorts)...

Those are the only people that really call me...everyone else can be the generic crap ring tones that come with the phone. The one thing I like about it is that I can set ring tones for the restricted/no caller ID/caller ID calls...so I know when bill collectors are calling and I don't want to talk to them!

ANYWAY, I better finish eating my lunch lunch and get back to work.
