Full weekend Monday. 2.15.16 7:13 pm Yesterday I met up with the friend I hung out with on Friday, and went to the gym with on Saturday. We went just down the Hill so that she could hopefully get answers to why her taxes were all wonky. We left with some answers, but she has to go back next weekend to actually get the issue fixed. After we left there, we made our way to U Village. I still had my Amazon gift card and I've been meaning to go to the Amazon Bookstore there so we took advantage of the free day. We both bought a book, All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr, then she bought another book and I got Secret Garden, the original adult coloring book. Once we left there, we went to Blue C Sushi. She'd never been and it was my first time being inside their new flagship store since reopening after moving from where the Amazon Bookstore is now. It had been months since I'd had sushi, so it was long overdue. I definitely got in my fix. Once we left there, we kind of just wandered about going in and out of different stores, just window shopping. Once we left, we headed back to the Hill and stopped at Blick, a local art supply store. I spent way too much money on their fancy colored pencils, but I guess now I'll never run out. {I ended up buying more at Target.} Once we finished up at Blick, we parted ways and I did my adulting. I got the oil changed in my car, went to the store for toiletries and such. I finally bought the Christmas gifts for my sister and nephew that I wasn't able to get them for Christmas. I couldn't find the gift that I want to get my mom so I'll probably end up having to go online for it. Once I'd spent way more money than I anticipated, I left and went grocery shopping. I was still home at a reasonable hour, which was nice about starting the day earlier. Today I got up with my work alarm to meet with a friend at work so that we could go to breakfast. Glo's is a place that both of us had been to once, but the food is tasty so we agreed to go again. It's a very small place and it's always busy so going early was perfect. We got there only about half an hour after it opened. It was already starting to get busy by 8:30. We went to Ikea after that so that she could get a new duvet cover that she really liked. We mostly just wandered around looking at all the nifty stuff they have there. I was starting to get anxious being around people so I wasn't really as excited about being there as I had been looking forward to all week last week. We didn't go to the restaurant because we were both still full from breakfast. If we'd gone later in the day, it might have been a different story. I guess perhaps next time I go back, if I ever actually go back, I'll get some food. We stopped at the mall afterwards so that she could get ideas on new bathroom decor for her apartment. It was more fun looking at the stuff in that store than Ikea. Two more stops, at Petco and Best Buy, respectively, ended our outing. I came home and took a nap because I was exhausted. I need a few days away from people, aside from just work people, because I had a busy weekend full of being out and about around people so I need a break. I do have plans for Thursday, but that will be worth it. And then I might have plans for Sunday, but I won't know for sure until probably Saturday. Otherwise, I plan on going to the gym Wednesday, but that's about it. I spent so much money this weekend, mostly on things that I needed, but probably could have waited getting, so I'm broke again until payday. Comment! (0) | Recommend! Me day swap Saturday. 2.13.16 5:43 pm The tentative plans that I had for today fell through so I ended up making plans for tomorrow instead. I'll be joining my friend, whom I was out with last night, tomorrow when she goes in to figure out what happened with her taxes. After that we'll be going to U Village and wandering around there. Definitely making a stop at the Amazon Bookstore, and will probably grab some grub while we're there. After that, no clue. I really should be doing laundry and going grocery shopping and such today, but I just don't feel like it. I went to the gym this morning and got in a decent run. I'm doing my intervals slightly different than I have been. This week my stomach has been bothering me a little so I didn't want to push as hard as I have been. So what I did was slow down the pace a little, but keep it up for a longer period of time before slowing down to walk for a little bit. Then pushing right at the very end, for the last two or three minutes before cool down. It's gotten me almost to the best time I've ever done, but I don't feel absolutely exhausted by the end. Last night was girl's night. We went to the Cheesecake Factory for snacks and pre-movie drinks. Afterwards, we went down the street to the movie theater to watch Deadpool. It somehow worked out perfectly. It was a sold out show, we got there only half an hour before the movie, and we had near perfect seats. It was a large screen format theater so the seating was ample. I loved the movie. Ryan Reynolds was amazing as Deadpool, though I can only say that with the little reference that I actually know about the character. I wouldn't mind seeing the movie again. Will it happen? Not likely, but who knows. After the movie, we wandered back to Belltown to go to Some Random Bar, since I actually knew where it was now. We were supposed to go a few weeks ago when we went to see Star Wars, but couldn't find it. It was a decent place. Not sure if we'll go back; it was a little on the pricey side for food and it's a little more ritzy for a bar than we usually aim for. But if we do want to go back, we know where it is. I have some exciting plans for next Thursday, but I will elaborate more on them once we actually get in to next week. I don't really feel like talking about it yet, this way I'm not bringing it up pretty much every blog until then. But it's gonna be worth the lack of sleep we get for work the next day. Anywho, I'm getting distracted and it's taken me longer than normal to write one of these out so I'm gonna end it here and allow the distractions to take over. Comment! (1) | Recommend! Bonus! Thursday. 2.11.16 8:03 pm When they agreed upon the new Union contract, the language was kind of weird when it came to describing who would receive the bonus for this year. I figured that I wouldn't get it since I wasn't technically a permanent employee. So when my coworker looked at her check and said something about it, I just automatically assumed I'd not get it. Until I checked and it was there! It's not a lot, but it's more than I would have had normally so I'm thankful. Throughout the day I was seriously considering not going to the gym this evening. I only went once last week and I will be going out most of this weekend so I really needed to go tonight. But I just didn't want to, which is when they say you actually should go. So I did. I didn't push as hard as I did last weekend, but it felt rewarding nonetheless. One of the other department managers was there and complimented me on doing the interval sets. Apparently it's really hard to slow down and then speed back up again. It's how I've always done it so going for longer periods of time at a faster speed just isn't possible for me yet. Work was nuts this morning. We got a bunch of template changes, same day and next day reschedules, and mornings are our busiest time for patients. We got everything done, however, in a fairly efficient period of time. All of the work was done by the end of shift. It definitely helped that it was a slow patient day. If it had been a normal amount of patients, we'd not have been able to complete all of our work. Here's to hoping tomorrow's shift goes by quickly! Comment! (1) | Recommend! Again USPS? Really? Tuesday. 2.9.16 8:28 pm The courier who delivers our mail either 1) can't count, 2) can't read, 3) doesn't give a flying fuck, or 4) all of the above. This is probably the third time that I've had a package from VS delivered to the wrong mailbox. So now I have to wait for whomever it is that got it to check their mail and hope that they're kind enough to give me my $100 order. I'm having another small box get delivered to me sometime soon so now I have to keep my fingers crossed on that. Ugh. I've been thinking about gauging my ears again. I really shouldn't, and I know I said I'd stop at a 0, but I really just want to go up one more size. I am really hard set on staying below the inches measurements. I have a second hole in my right ear that would get seriously fucked up if I stretched the first hole that wide. Maybe I'll just stretch the left ear, since I only have the first and third holes still open. My ear piercings are already uneven as is. I probably won't; it's just nice to think about from time to time. Perhaps I'll get a new piercing altogether... My computer at work hates me. I just need a new one, but because the IT department is still saying they're working on fixing the issue, my manager told me to just give it a few days before we light a fire under someone's ass to rush order me a new PC. We've already determined that it's the computer itself, not my login because I can use the other two computer workstations just fine. My own? Nope. It was supposed to be fixed with the reimage last weekend, but instead, created a whole new problem. One that IT has to replicate in order to fix, but they need to figure out how to replicate it first. Ugh. Maybe the title of this entry should have been "ugh". . . Comment! (1) | Recommend! Just another day Sunday. 2.7.16 11:10 am I hung out with my friend yesterday and we went to look at a potential house he and his fiance are thinking of buying. I really didn't like the house. I felt they were interested in it for the wrong reasons and I'm glad he had another friend of his there who was more knowledgeable in the technical side of things. Things that I saw that looked weird, he pointed out as to why they looked weird and what would have to go in to fixing it. Obviously, it's up to my friends on whether they want to put all the work in to fixing up this house, but still. I think they can do better, even in their lower price range. We didn't hang out for long; probably only a few hours. He is working grave shift tonight so he needed to adjust his sleep pattern as such. I came home yesterday and just relaxed. I thought about going out today during the Super Bowl, but I decided against it. Instead, I did what appears to be my normal Sunday morning routine: go to the gym, come home to shower, then put clothes in the wash. I really should go out this afternoon, but I think reading a book is a good alternative. I've certainly had it long enough and I want to be able to return it to its owner tomorrow. So that's pretty much the plan for the remainder of the day. I'll be off and on the interwebs when I need a break from reading. It's a short book, only a couple hundred pages, so it shouldn't have taken me this long to complete it {I've had it for over a week.} Hence why I want to finish it today and bring it back to my friend tomorrow. Comment! (1) | Recommend! Welcome to Friday Friday. 2.5.16 9:00 pm It seems like I wasn't the only person who had a weird as shit Friday. I also felt better about the fact that I wasn't the only person on my floor to be affected by an IT outage that involved re-imaging a computer. I went the entire shift without being able to use my own computer; I went the entire first half of the shift without having access to a computer at all. I definitely wore the wrong shoes to be standing for hours in. Tonight was a bad night for snacks. I will likely not be buying another package of chewy Chips Ahoy... The Oreo thins I can make last, for whatever reason. So I'll probably keep buying them for a while. Even if I eat 2 servings, I'm still consuming less than 300 calories. I didn't go to the gym this week either; it just wasn't my week for the heath conscious. I wanted to lose those 5lbs before the 24th of this month, but I've been steady at the same 155 for a while now. It hasn't gone up at all, but it hasn't gone down either. Now, I get that eating those damn cookies doesn't help me at all, but still. I'll be skipping the gym tomorrow and opting for sleeping in. I'll be going on Sunday morning. I like getting up Sunday, going to the gym, coming home to shower and then put clothes in the wash. It just feels like a more productive day. I'll be getting up and going out early enough tomorrow anyway; in order to go to the gym and be home and showered before I need to leave for my friend's, sleeping in will not be an option. I can't sleep in too late on Sunday because it fucks up sleep for work the next day. So sleep tomorrow, gym Sunday, daily exercises continue as planned. I joined Tinder. I didn't upload any pictures of myself, but I did sync my Instagram profile. If people really want to see, I have a few pictures of myself in there somewhere. I'm not on the app to actually find anyone. I was more or less curious. It doesn't feel like a dating site, probably because it's not. I'm still super skeptical of the app. I likely won't make plans to meet with anyone I "match" with any time soon. Mostly because I am busy the rest of this month. We'll see how this goes. Alright, I'm gonna call it an early night. It's been a long week. Not quite as bad as last week, but still long enough that I have a headache and I'm sore from standing for several hours earlier this morning. Note to self, put extra pair of tennis shoes in car tomorrow... Comment! (1) | Recommend!
