    Ciara On The Cover Of King, And Who Watches Soul Train Anymore?!?
    Thursday. 2.8.07 8:20 pm
    Sexy Atlanta Siren—Ciara is gracing yet another cover this month and it’s King Magazine.

    I’ve got to say, I think the princess of Crunk & B music’s appearance on the cover of the hip-hop men’s magazine is a real good look. Though she isn’t showing her ass on the cover like others before her has. She is still showing her age, and dishing out a little sexiness with the lollipop.

    I got to be honest though; I am just sitting around waiting for her to evolve into Ciara “The Nympho”. We all know she isn’t all that talented as a vocalist. And the only way she’s going to keep herself relevant and still manage to sell records is to lose the clothes. Just look at Britney, Trina, and Madonna.

    Oh well, whether she takes it all off or keeps it on. She still is one sexy ass girl who could get it from me any day. “You hear that CiCi, Come and get it mama!”

    Ray J Sex Tape Fetches A $1 Million
    Thursday. 2.8.07 8:50 am
    We'll start where we normally end. DAMN!

    What a minute ain't that Brandy's brother?

    You wanna know what grinds my gears, lack of privacy. Where does it say that a man, famous or infamous, can't hose down the sugar walls of a socialite in front of his mini-DV camera, from the privacy of his own bedroom, without it resurfacing at the Crenshaw Swap Meet?

    Well... it says so in the Handbook of Things Not To Do if you are a celebrity in the era of YouTube (or XTube.com in this case), TMZ, or blogs like this one.

    I think it's in Chapter 2.

    Anyways.... Vivid Entertainment spent $1 Million on the sex tape of Kim Kardashian and Ray J.

    From the press release found at kimksuperstar.com:

    "We are comfortable that we have the legal right to distribute this video, despite what others may say," says Mr. Hirsch, Vivid's co-chairman.

    "I've seen the video and it's really great. It has over 30-minutes of explicit sex that fans of erotica will find very appealing featuring two young and glamorous high profile celebrities. Apparently, the video was shot by Ray J about three years ago when he and Kim were in a relationship. The production is crystal clear and viewers will definitely get their money's worth. If either Kim or Ray J would like to discuss the video with us we would be happy to do so."

    Ok so I get it. This is business. But $1 Million for a sex tape by two D- list celebrities.... Survey says.... NO THANKS!

    At the top of the fuckin' website they had to explain to the general public just who Kim Kardashian and Ray J were.

    She's the Daughter of O.J. Simpson's Lawyer Robert Kardashian, the Stepdaughter of Olympic Gold Medallist Bruce Jenner and the Best Friend of Paris Hilton; He's a Best-Selling Indie Hip Hop Recording Artist Who Has Been Linked with Lil'Kim and Most Recently Whitney Houston.

    I know Sonja Norwood 'bout done lost her mind with all the drama she's had to deal with these past few weeks.

    *hi fives Ray J*

    Jawn Murray has all the details on the tape, Ray J and the real reason he is "fooling around" with Nippy. Click here to listen.

    Ya Heard speaks on Complex magazine being pissed now, 'cause Kim K is on their latest cover. I ain't mad.

    * Brandy
    * Kim Kardashian
    * Ray J
    * Whitney Houston

    SOHH GRANT:Rasheeda Got Me Wanting Her Bubble Gum. Plus, D12 Signs Decatur Artist KB
    Wednesday. 2.7.07 12:19 pm

    Renowned rapper RASHEEDA has been satisfying the musical palates of hip hop heads for several years now and the musical fruits that she bears just seem to get better with time. Her hip hop highness has been cranking out spitfire, take-no-prisoner rap songs since the early 90s, back when she was barely a teenager herself and most of her peers were just shunning their pigtails and bobby socks.

    Since that time, shes not only ruled supreme over the Crunk Kingdom but she has also established herself as one of the sexiest women in hip hop, unafraid to cut to the chase in her music and say what every woman wants to say and every man wants to hear.

    I’m not sure if I like the song or not, but Rasheeda looks so damn good, who the hell cares!

    Rasheeda –“Bubble Gum Remix”

    I'm not done yet....

    D12 member and former Celebrity Fit Club contestant— Bizarre opened up recently. In this interview he talks about his new album, his new record label. He just signed Decatur artist KB and is currently working on his album due out later this year. Though Bizz is from Detroit, he has roots in ATL.

    If you’re interested, check it out.

    Talk to y'all tommorrow!

    Musiq Departs Def Jam, Starts LUVANMUSIQ at Atlantic
    Wednesday. 2.7.07 12:05 pm
    Musiq Soulchild is returning to the scene and a lot is brand new about his familiar sound.

    SOHH Soulful caught to Musiq to get the scoop on his new album LUVANMUSIQ due out March 13th on Atlantic Records.

    That's right, Atlantic. You'll recall the Musiq was on Def Jam for his first three albums AIJUSWANASEING (2000), JUSLISEN (2002) and SOULSTAR (2003).

    His switch to Atlantic was more like an NBA trade off than anything else. Apparently, execs at Atlantic and Def Jam got together and decided that Musiq would better off on Atlantic and Fabolous would be better served if he were on Def Jam.

    Hence the switcheroo. You can read the full story on how record labels are going to start trading off artists rather than just drop them, in the February/March issue of GIANT magazine with Jennifer Hudson on the cover.

    Dude's first single of this new album is "Buddy". Listen to it here.

    Don't sleep on that "Buddy" remix featuring Young Buck and T.I. Cop that joint right here.

    Daily Hip-Hop News:Jermaine Dupri Appointed President Of Island Records
    Wednesday. 2.7.07 11:04 am

    Wednesday - February 7, 2007 by Anthony Roberts
    Jermaine Dupri

    Universal Music Group named Jermaine Dupri the new president of urban music for Island Records today (February 7).

    According to Billboard.com, the hip-hop mogul, who has produced hits for artists such as Mariah Carey, Usher, Bow Wow and Da Brat, is set to take over the position at Island, after vacating his post at Virgin Records. As previously reported by SOHH, Dupri recently stepped down from his position as president of urban music at Virgin, apparently after the lackluster sales of Janet Jackson's latest release 20 Y.O., which Dupri co-executive produced.

    During his stint at Virgin, Dupri was responsible for signing Atlanta group Dem Franchize Boys and also was involved with Big Boi's Purple Ribbon label.

    Dupri will be reunited with Antonio "L.A" Reid, who is chairman of the Island Def Jam Music Group, as well as friend Jay-Z, president of Def Jam.

    E.B. Continues Eazy E.'s Legacy, Swizz and Redman Ready New Music
    Tuesday. 2.6.07 3:21 pm

    Word has it Eazy E's daughter Erin Bria Wright, A.K.A. "E.B.", is dropping her own album soon. It's going to be called Candy Girl. It's produced by multi-platinum producer "7 Aurelius" and also features Farrah Franklin (Former Destiny's Child member). Looks like she and Lil E are trying to contine the legacy. Get photos and more info here.

    Red's publicist sent over this new album cover for Redman's new one. It drops March 27th. It's called Red Gone Wild: Thee Album. We'll see if this actually happens.

    Swizz Beats' new single "It's Me B*tches" hits radio nationwide Feb. 27th. But you can cop it here first. He says he's defying the rules of what a producer should be by putting out his own 2 minute single. Shout out to Mike over at Universal.
