Imagine... a movement inspired by the arts to open the eyes of Americans to the plight of their own people. Imagine, through art, music and poetry, we are shining a much needed light on our own crisis: HOMELESSNESS
Art4TheHomeless was once a blog called Colors of Ink with Blogcharm, which closed down. Nutang, became the new home of Colors of Ink and was renamed Art4TheHomeless, by a really good friend, Samantha Medd. She is now the Co-Founder of Art4TH.
Now Art4TH is a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Organization that unites artists of all venues to promote homeless awareness in the US.
Art4TH does this through the Art4TH Webzine, a monthly online magazine that features a musician whose music plays throughout the website, a feature artist, and a feature writer while also featuring a homeless relief organization. All artists featured retain their copyrights and all of it is free. If you would like to be a featured artist, musician, or writer contact me at [email protected]

Baptized in the stare
Disguised beyond recognition
I try to enchant you with my talents
Only to be surprised by your defiance
Art4TH Web Community
Monday. 2.16.09 3:14 pm
I created a social network type thing for Art4TheHomeless where anyone can join, upload art, videos, pics, etc! I want to invite you to join! The site features everything that Art4Th does--the Zine, the Homeless Network, art, and a feed from the Nutang blog.
Benefits from joining the community include learning the latest editions of the Zine, latest additions to The Homeless Network, keeping up with Art4TH Twitter feeds, my latest art added to the Zazzle Gallery, and the feed from the Nutang blog are the major points.
You can also upload your own art, videos, feeds, and Art4TH will support your art as well. We are in the process of adding a feature artists per week to the main page to promote your art/music/or writings! So come on and join the new community!

Wow..I have been so busy. Either working at my job--I am getting more hours--or working down in Little 5. Friday the 13th was Customer Appreciation and an art reception for my artwork. I had a nice time. I had to work that night and we were busy.
I am working on my piece that I want to donate to Habitat for Humanity and when it's finished, I will, of course, have pics of it up. I did the Valentine's edition of the webzine, and just realized that almost two months of the new year is gone already!
Art4TheHomeless is doing well and I am joining sites like PowerWomen's Magazine networking groups and trying to just get the word out that Art4TheHomeless is here for anyone who needs me.
My mom is not doing so well... she was diagnosed with kidney disease.. on top of emphysema, copd, diabetes, and three arterial blockages..but she has quit smoking! She uses the patch and took it off and hasn't had cravings! I want to spend some time with her and take her out to the park and enjoy the beautiful weather and all. I planned on relaxing at home today but got called in to work only for an hour so here I am back online ;)

This zine edition is special. We have two holidays! Valentine's Day and Mardi Gras!
We have a special and heartwarming story for ya. It's about a fine jewelry store giving out neckalaces to folks who have lost their jobs and homes. We also have the Zazzle artists: Olympia from Greece, Jo from the Netherlands, The Pony Store and Vintage Bob!
Joanna Ballard from Shreveport, LA is our Mardi Gras (birthday girl) feature writer!
Keat's Handwriting from Orlando, FL is our feature musician so feel free to enjoy the music, art, and poetry and revel in the holidays! May everyone have a happy Valentine's Day and Laissez les bons temps rouler!

Art4TheHomeless Blog--not myspace but the original--has it's own widget! I encourage you to get it and keep visiting it! Why? Because I get revenue when people come visit, comment, and pass it on. That money is slowly being accumulated to be raised for various homeless shelters here in the US!
The Widget looks like this:
And you can get it here:

My good friend Denise who runs the shop my art is in created an Ebay account for her stuff and my art! You have to have a credit card for that and I don't so that's what took me forever ;)
Anyway, my art is up for bidding on and whoever buys it will get to choose a homeless shelter in their area and I will donate only part of the proceeds in both their name and Art4TheHomeless name.
I am doing only part because I need to pay for shipping and ink supplies. Denise also has some things up for bid. You can see our stuff at
Feb 1 Art4TH Zine is out!
Wednesday. 1.28.09 4:23 pm
Since February is a short month, the zine is being published a couple of days early!
Our feature homeless organization is The Homeless Network again because new information has been added to it. If you are homeless and in the US, but you are NOT an American Citizen OR you have lost your naturalization papers, green cards, etc, new info has been added for YOU.
THN has also been noticed by the Federal agency www.samhsa.gov (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration) as a homeless resource help site!
The Elegance Boutique, Tangles Beauty Bar and DeeTangles Trendz are featured as well since they are a huge support to Art4TheHomeless (I have my art up for sale in the shop and will donate some of my proceeds to local shelters in the Atlanta-Decatur area) so stop by and check them out! They are in my Myspace Top Friends! ADD them!
Our feature artists are all from Zazzle.com, a website where anyone can upload anything and make a work of art from the image. My Zazzle site is dedicated to using profits to aid shelters in the US.
Stop and take a look at their stuff. They are: Juliana from the Netherlands, Spikeman Designs from California, Zodiak Babes from Cuenca, Spain, and Cavity's Wedding and Obama designs!
Our feature musician is Dylan from Austrailia!
Our feature writer is myself. I am leaving the same few chapters up for anyone who hasn't had the chance to read them.
Thanks again yall for participating in Art4TheHomeless!
