I can jog?!

While I planned on jogging everyday it's not working out that way. I am jogging more then I thought I would be. Let's be honest. Jogging is crap. It's a skill you need if you get yourself in a jam, part of a track team or you don't have a car. I hate jogging, running, or anything faster then walking somewhat quickly; I don't put myself in a position to get intoa jam. I'm not part of a track team and I have a car. However, I do want to lose weight, well fat. Since I won't be able to convince my husband to let me blow 800 on a machine jogging is the way to go. Honestly since I want a house I wouldn't be able to bring myself to spend that much. That's the cost of a frig, which we'll need for a new house.

The problem I seem to have with jogging right now is that except for on weekends I'm stuck jogging around the block where I live. It's not scenic, in a residential area and the neighborhood doesn't give you a "you're perfectly safe" sort of feeling. It's more of a "don't push yourself too hard in case you need to kick it into high gear" sort of feeling. Which is why I don't push myself when I don't jog with my husband. XD My mind has an active imagination so every man, woman and kid looking 13 or older tends to set it into worst case senario and me plotting ways to get out of different situations that may happen.

Speaking of buying a house I'm now unsure if we should when we get the money or not. It's all up in the air... /sigh We'll see what happens when we actually get the money. I'm not afraid of the market right now, I'm just worried if it's right for us. Should we wait until we have more to put down? Is the neighborhood right for us? Having a nice Savemart so close would be nice. Right now I have to go to the one on Folwer and Herndon which is quite a ways from our apartment. I'll miss them when we do move...if we move out of Clovis. Clovis is great, even with the high tax, because of the animal control. I'm not a bitch or anti pets or anything, I love animals, but when it comes to 3 in the morning and some dog howling/barking...yeah time for some meat with rat poison. Ok, maybe not THAT extreme, but damn close.

Oh the irony of it all.

I was going to add smilies, but I'm too tired... bleh

So about a week or so ago our CCO and a co-worker of mine, I'll call him Scanner to keep up the job title theme, were talking about the girl who is being fined a lot of money for downloading mp3s from Kazaa (sp). I can't believe anyone would even still use that program considering what else is out there and how closely it's watched. Any ways, I told them about the anime/manga/drama community is very different and that we have our own set of rules that I'd like to think a good majority of us closely follow. It's the basic don't bite the hand that feeds you policy. We don't host or work on licensed stuff and they leave us alone. We're generally normal good natured people, but can be a bit "rabid" when it comes to prices, quality of work and having access to what we want when we want it. They also get to see what they should license/work on/etc. by sites like mine, forums and such. If they were smart they would contact the admin/owner of the sites like mine for stats. I know I would share my info. (I look at it daily.)

So what's the irony? I received this letter in my inbox yesterday:

Dear Animanga Network Admins,

Hello, my name is Lisa. I'm the Legal Assistant for Nozomi Entertainment/The Right Stuf International. (www.rightstuf.com) Our company holds the Region 1 ( United States and Canada ) distribution rights for the following anime series. Your site, http://www.animanganetwork.org/, and specifically the following links, lists unlawful copies of our titles for download. I do have to request that you remove them and also cease to list our series in the future. A list of our currently licensed titles is below for your reference, and you can access a list of our new titles at this link: http://www.rightstuf.com/news/release.shtml

Please feel free to let me know if you have any questions, but I'm afraid I will have to contact your ISP in the case of a slow resolution.

Sincerely,
Lisa Cooper

At first my heart dropped to my stomach and I thought, "Fuck! What the fuck are we supposed to be fucking hosting? (pause) Wait...we don't host ANYTHING licensed in the US! Huh?!?" So then I read more of the e-mail and saw which link she was pointing to. It's the anime list. The anime list is the page before having to enter the section. It's supposed to tell you what you can find in the section and also tells you what's been dropped. Unfortunately I'm pretty forgetful/lazy or I do my updates in such a rush I don't think about making sure the list is correct. It also seems as if they didn't actually go into the section and just assumed that it was there since we haven't hosted that anime in a very long time. In fact we only got to host a few episodes before having to take it down. I also find it funny since they are the producers of KareKano which I just mentioned in my last blog.

I must say the funniest comment has come from the head of my anime dept. for my website in our tag board.

Nuttz: @Koala: Thanks!! @Katrina-nee: I think that person just randomly shot Animanga without even checking if it really is available for downloads and not some tiny mistake. *rolls eyes*
Kitty: @Nuttz: maybe she couldn't find the passwords? XD

If you knew how many e-mail I get and have gotten about people needing help with finding the password or what to do you'd probably find it funnier. I must admit though that this has made me keep in mind that I need to stay on top of those troublesome lists. They are a good idea. I mean each section is password protected so having to read through and find the password only to find out that what you want isn't in there is pretty crap right?

Speaking of Scanner. They are teaching our receptionist how to do new business. I guess it's one less thing I don't have to worry about. I mentioned it to him when I was using the machine next to his cubical and he said, "They aren't having you teach her?" I laughed and said, "Yeah, I think they learned their lesson on that." He started to laugh. I wouldn't say I'm a bad teacher. I just expect too much out of people I guess. I know what I expect out of myself and push it onto those I'm teaching. Bad habit I know. I was listening to what she was being taught and she was told about the 24 hour rule. It's a good rule for the days when they let us off early, but I guess to tell someone not to stress or freak if you can't get something out is...well no fun. When I get the new business that came in that day the same day it gives me a feeling of great accomplishment. The feeling that I did my job and did it well. I didn't use the 24 hour rule to give me more of a peace of mind. Then again I feel some stress and the adrenaline rushing through you is a good thing to experience. It's why I love 168 and make excuses to go to Savemart.
