Yes, we need some way to delete our accounts if we want to, but I REALLY do not see the pressing urgency in making sure that the account gets deleted promptly if you have already deleted all content on it anyway. Here's a suggestion: STOP SIGNING IN JUST TO MAKE SURE IF YOUR ACCOUNT IS DELETED OR NOT. It's not like you have your social security number or something important like that linked to your account, so just walk away and leave it abandoned to collect electronic cobwebs and whatnot. No one would click through to your site anyway if you would just stop signing in to leave posts on the shoutbox and to bitch about how much we need a mechanism for canceling accounts in this thread and to "update" your blog with an entry about how you asked for your account to be deleted "months ago" and it STILL hasn't happened yet. Get over it and move on with your life.
