For one, only people who already have the font would be able to see it. You could just make the posts opaque and have the font be a different color.

It doesn't seem to work in FF (go figure), but I haven't had a chance to test it in IE yet. Again, I'm not even sure if it works well if at all. If you want, I'll send you the code when/where you want and you can try it out for yourself. Just let me know what you want and I will do what I can!
