I was just thinking about the term "puppy dog" and I wondered who started that? I mean a puppy is a dog so why say both? You wouldnt be like aww look its a child human! There's alot of other types of saying that bother me as well...here's a small list:
You couldn't see the broad side of a barn...If you can't see the broad side you probably cant see the barn period. Why not you can't see a barn...bc that would sound lame...but so does the other way because its ignorant and ignorance always sounds lame!

Blind as a bat. If you don't know why this bothers me and you're past 6th grade...go step in front of a bus. If your not in 6th grade yet, GET THE HELL AWAY FROM NUTANG BEFORE IT GETS INFESTED WITH YOUR MYSPACE COOTIES!!!

And my all time least favorite...fit as a fiddle? WTF?? A fiddle cannot be fit! At least not in the way that most people are referring to when they say that! Maybe if you are saying someone is in good condition to be played to make music with then it would be appropriate but I don't know anyone who that would apply too.

awww a child human, haha. my mom has some weird phrases, she'll say "you can't dance no more than the man in the moon" replacing dance with anything. yep i don't get it, yep
