Gay Marriage

i Want to know your opinion/views/rants on Gay Marriage (civil or religious).
This is for my Anthropology essay. i Mean, BIG essay. =S
Help?!

I've nothing against gay marriages.. just because they're homosexuals doesn't turn them into aliens, so they're as much entitled to marriage as all the straight people.

*sigh* I hate to admit it, but I agree with Dilated. Completely... *sigh*

Except he's not saying outright whether he's for or against, just that he's been brought up to believe in male to female marriage as the ONLY option.

But me, I'll be outright and say that I'm for it.
Why not?
I hate inbetween crap. Therefore I also believe that they should legalize marijuana.

Let's just push ourselves to the limits, no? Let those that want to do whatever. Either that or tighten the reigns. If you're gonna not legalize gay marriage then make it illegal to get a divorce or INCREDIBLY difficult, in any case.

I haven't outright said whether I'm for or against it 'cause I do not have an opinion on anything. Ever. I go with the flow.

I think that if two people (gay or straignt) love eachother they should get married however they (gay) will be chastised by a lot of people and I dont want to see that happen. I think that being registered as domestic partners is all that society can handle for now.

There are countries though that legalize civil marriages for gay people.
One being Canada where i'm currently living in.
Just as one lesbian said though, "Obtaining a right does not always result in justice". Whether they legalize same-sex marriages, there will always be opposition.

I'm pretty open-minded and I didn't grow up with any special force behind male-female relationships/marriages. My best friend isn't straight and it doesn't matter. I didn't know that when I first met her and it didn't change anything when I did. I knew from early on though so that might have something to do with it.

So, no, I have nothing against gay marriage. ^-^ I'm straight, by-the-way.

fine! i'll be brave enough to come out and say that i'm against gay marriage. some of you may be shocked that someone thinks that this is a matter of civil liberty; it's not.

i'm not one of those people who believes that being a homosexual is genetic. i think it's a choice, be is subconscious or conscious.

i'm also not one of those homophobes that's gonna say "you can be gay, just don't be gay around me."

be gay for all i care. more for me.

marriage between a man and a woman has been a tradition for most of mankind's history. the whole reason for a man to marry a woman is instinctual. reproduction. it's almost insulting that we would want to change that institution. marriage is a ceremony between specifically a man and a woman. if gay people want to get married, it deserves to be called something else. it's not about equal rights, it's about pure definition.

and i know, you might be thinking, but sank, i whacked off in a cup and it got injected into a woman i barely know, and now we have children too, even though i'm gay. whoopee. there goes another kid's chance at normal childhood. he's not gonna turn out right.

i'm really not against gays. but i am against gay marriage. is that a good enough point for you all?
