KKama67 | The full moon can increase your intuitive abilities - Posted on 2006-11-05 23:33:14

Myth states that the full moon is said to rule things like

1. feelings
2. intuition
3. cycles
4. psychic powers and more.

When a woman has her period her intuitive ability increases. She becomes more sensitive to hunches and peoples feelings.

What is your take on this myth??

JMC | THE MOON OVER WATERMELLON LEAVES - Posted on 2006-11-07 03:45:45

by Rob Preece

According to my father, there is an ancient Chinese legend that when God, or maybe the gods (our family migrated to California during the railroad building boom of the 1860s and we're no longer clear on all of our Chinese traditions) decided to create the world, he/they did so simply in order to create one perfect moment.

That moment, according to the legend, would come when the moon shined over watermelon leaves at just the right angle, at just the right time, and created a thing of true and perfect beauty.

I call B.S. Women do not become more sensitive toward others, but toward themselves. How can you become more sensitive to a hunch anyway?

I may just be skeptical to the whole ' psychic powers ' line.

JMC | Moons have rainbows, I never knew! - Posted on 2006-11-07 12:36:01

The moon is the key, just as sunlight produces rainbows during the day, moonlight can produce rainbows at night. This is a lunar rainbow or 'moonbow'.
http://www.sundog.clara.co.uk/rainbows/bowim15.htm taken from Maui, Hawaii

Moonbows are rare because moonlight is not very bright. A bright moon near to full is needed, it must be raining opposite the moon, the sky must be dark and the moon must be less than 42º high. Put all these together and you do not get to see a moonbow very often! To the unaided eye they usually appear, as in the small image, without colour because their light is not bright enough to activate the cone colour receptors in our eyes. Nonetheless colours have been reported and might be seen when the moon is bright.

Hey midday! What is a blue moon and is it true that you can have a twice in a blue moon not only a "once in a blue moon"?

a blue moon is normally used to represent a long period of time, but in reality it just means the second full moon in a month. so i guess you could have "twice in a blue moon", if something happens twice but still not often.

In June 2007 we will have two full moons: the first on June 1, the second on June 30—that second full moon is called the blue moon.

actually, the phrase "once in a blue moon" refers to the period of time in between blue moon. Like "once a year" means once between one New Years and the next (though any date would work for something like a year, which actually IS a period of time). I guess the difference is that a blue moon is an event, and a year is a period of multple events. Get it?

But yes, the second full moon will be a blue moon
