crowdfunding is hard, man.

i've never run a kickstarter campaign before now, and it's easy to get a few backers from people that you know. getting support from everyone else is difficult.

i don't have a background in marketing. i'm not very good at social media. maybe i'm in over my head. my buddy and i just decided to create a game that we thought was fun, and the end game is to use our creativity to spread joy with others, and possibly even make a career out of it that we don't hate.

not that i HATE my career, but it would be nice to do something for a living that makes me happy. i truly hope this type of thing takes off, and i will be able to say i made money AND enjoyed doing it.

who knows. maybe we'll just continue playing the game amongst ourselves. we'll still enjoy it. i hope the journey doesn't end there.

here's a link if you want to look at the project.

will we reach our goal? some day, maybe. a month goes by fast. i don't know if that's enough time to try to change your life.

love,
scott

The most successful crowdfunding campaigns I've seen have been put on by people who already had a sizable following and showed their work around before starting to ask for money. I'm not sure how it works with board games, though.

As for the almonds, you can buy them without skins, but they're fresher if you do it at home, I guess.

I may try to back the game on either the next check ... I kind of wish I was able to donate the $2000 just so that you'd have an excuse to fly out to Seattle lol. Though, I might possibly be able to meet you and Amy this Fall, when I'm visiting back east.

re: I purposely didn't write in corpse flower just so that people would have to Google it. I'm glad you got a kick out of it =)

re: My 30th birthday; I'm going to be staying with my aunt for the first half and the last few days, while staying in a hotel for the week of my actual birthday. I'll be making a trip out to NY to visit my dad's family while I'm out there, and would like to visit Ocean City at least once. I have vague memories of it being fun.

I think they might be related classes? Turbo Kick is choreographed kickboxing, I think with some dance thrown in.
