Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous. Actually, who are you not to be? Shout! Counter | aw shucks Sunday. 2.10.08 5:56 am According to Facebook app You would fall for a Nerd Your man is socially awkward and completely sweet. Although other people may make fun of him now, just wait a few years and those same people that made fun of him will probably be working for him. He will worship the ground you walk on and love you like crazy, although he may not always know how to express it. You find his awkwardness endearing because you know that underneath all that nervous stuttering and passion for obscure subjects is a really great guy who adores you! i think it sums up D nicely. Comment! (0) | Recommend! misconceptions Thursday. 2.7.08 10:21 pm Everyone hates Singapore. I'm not quite a global citizen, I may have gleaned my information from the net, but I find the world is not making much sense. Misconceptions are merely lying in wait for anyone to send it flying across the world at the speed of a quick email/youtubeˇ. 1) Islam is a violent religion. Even though I'm Chinese and non-Muslim, I am VERY offended by this statement. One of my best friends is a Muslim and I get riled when people make such sweeping statements about a religion that they only saw through twisted news stories. Singapore resides in the South East Asian archipelago, and the 2nd largest ethnic group is populated by Muslims. It's surrounded by Muslim countries like Indonesia, Malaysia etc, who frankly despises Singapore. Ask any Singaporean driver to drive his/her brand new car with Singaporean plates in to Malaysia a highway across and chances of him/her getting mugged rockets to 70%. So I WOULD know what I'm talking about. It's also true that Singapore had/have been/still is targeted by Muslims extremists. But I liken such extremists to Christian evangelists who con senile old people of their pensions, but merely on a different scale. Muslim extremists distort the truth of the Koran, and exploit faith so as to gain power to control countries and wealth (look at how filthy rich Osama bin Laden is!) , while Christian evangelists, tries for a shorter timeline, going for wealth and fame during their 15 minutes of fame on TV. Buddhism has it share of bogus monks asking for alms clad in the sacred orange robes. I've even heard tales of temples being fronts for money laundering. The Catholic Church is plague by children fondling priests, the good Christian community oppressed blacks in the 1950s and Christianity has a long and bloody history long since forgotten by the modern society. (Think witch hunts and the crusade and Hitler) There are black sheep in every religion, who parades in the name of their "God","Buddha","Allah" and all the rest of the pantheon of holy idols for personal gain. And its unfair to judge based on a minority group of radicals. Yes, Muslim radicals killed many with their terrorist's acts. So did Hitler, decidedly white and quote, "Although Hitler did not practice religion in a churchly sense, he certainly believed in the Bible's God" http://www.nobeliefs.com/hitler.htm "He justified his fight for the German people and against Jews by using Godly and Biblical reasoning." Strangely, no one discriminated against whites and Christians then. Take a good look, you will realise that a religion which advocates, no alcohol, no gambling, no usury, no prostitution, and humane slaughtering of animals for food is hardly the one that would advocate "kill all non Muslims!" 2) Singaporeans speak lousy English I was outraged when I read this from T's blog. http://www.asiaone.com/News/AsiaOne%2BNews/Singapore/Story/A1Story20080207-48643.html You've got to be kidding me!! Taiwan who tries to imitate American English pronunciation and comes out sounding all wrong? Taiwan whose President can't speak a full sentence of English has Taiwanese artistes mocking Singaporean English on national TV??? Taiwan is primarily Chinese (mandarin speaking) and Hokkien (dialect) speaking community. The only proper English I have ever heard from Taiwanese artistes are from the ABCs. I do not deny that Singaporean English is far from perfect, and most speak pidgin English aka Singlish. Colloquial English in Singapore is generally a mesh of abbreviated (or shortened) English, Malay, Mandarin and a couple of dialects, stirred in with one or two Indian words. It reflects how the cultural mix in Singapore is something unique. Malaysia calls itself, "Truly Asia" but it's not quite on the same level as Singapore on that count. Anyway It's sad that Taiwan doesn't recognise this as a part of Singapore's uniqueness and instead chose to insult Singapore's brand of English. I'm pretty sure that if called for, Singaporeans would be able to speak proper English to anyone who cares to listen. Singlish is often used to show good will and friendliness as compared to a put on English accent. Such English is deemed to sound as if the person speaking it is politely sneering at the other person especially if he/she is not English educated. It's exactly the same as when Taiwanese speak in their not-perfect hokkien. Haiz. This is long. Ok. I'm going home now. Its 1.25pm. I'm at the office and it's a public holiday, for Chinese New Year! Gong Hei Fatt Choy!! Comment! (10) | Recommend! R-r-r-rabbit! Wednesday. 2.6.08 12:47 am Your Score: RabbitYou scored 21 Ego, 14 Anxiety, and 18 Agency!![]() IT was going to be one of Rabbit's busy days. As soon as he woke up he felt important, as if everything depended upon him. It was just the day for Organizing Something, or for Writing a Notice Signed Rabbit, or for Seeing What Everybody Else Thought About It. It was a perfect morning for hurrying round to Pooh, and saying, "Very well, then, I'll tell Piglet," and then going to Piglet, and saying, "Pooh thinks--but perhaps I'd better see Owl first." It was a Captainish sort of day, when everybody said, "Yes, Rabbit " and "No, Rabbit," and waited until he had told them. You scored as Rabbit! ABOUT RABBIT: Rabbit is generally considered Clever by his many friends and relations. He is actually a much better reader and writer than Owl, but he doesn't consider it worth mentioning. Instead, Rabbit's real talent lies in Organizing Plans. He organizes rescue parties, makes schemes to reduce Tigger's bounciness, and goes on missions to find out what Christopher Robin does when he's not at the Hundred Acre Woods. Sometimes, however, his Plans do not always go as Planned. WHAT THIS SAYS ABOUT YOU: You are smart, practical and you plan ahead. People sometimes think that you don't stress or worry, but this is not the case. You are the kind of person who worries in a practical way. You think a) What are my anxieties about and b)what can be done about them? No useless fretting for you. You don't see the point in sitting around and waiting for things to work out, when you could actually work them out today and save yourself a lot of time and worry. Your friends tend to rely on you, because they know that they can trust you help them work things out. You sometimes tend to be impatient with people who are less practical in their ways. You don't have much patience for idiots who moan about things but never actually DO anything about them. You have high expectations of everyone, including yourself. When you don't succeed at something, or when something goes wrong despite your best efforts to prevent it, you can get quite hard on yourself. You need to cut yourself some slack and accept that everyone has their faults, even you, and THAT IS OKAY. Let yourself be faulty, every now and then, for the sake of your own sanity.

(1) | Recommend! mega entry Monday. 2.4.08 2:23 am major recap coming up... with tons of photos! in chronological order countdown 2008 (i know this entry took a long time) was bizzare but still fun outing with D and his friends. watched AVP at Bugis.. and some questions still bugs me. why is it that the blue dissolving substance... which there is only one test tube of never runs out? why is it that an alien baby inserted into the predator's body forms some sort of hybrid but not a human and alien hybrid? why at the start of the show, 1 alien killed off the entire ship full of predators without much of a fight, but later on, 1 predator can take on probably a mass of 30 (at least) aliens? I know , i know, its only a movie. a sci-fi fantasy movie at that, and it should be allowed to stretch logic. o well... headed on to chijmes for the countdown party.. the guys were standing around while us girls were enjoying the party. we wouldn't have even made it into the party if not for some gentle persuasion and a lil bit of luck. *grins* its been a long time i danced at a party.. or maybe it should be called i moved my limbs in an erratic fashion to the dance music instead. LOL... WHICH i think is much better than being an old fogey at a party and refusing to take part. speaking of old fogeys, the guys got shown up by this ang moh Caucasian white haired and wrinkly old gentleman who showed them some moves, granted the moves were probably circa 1960s but i thought it sure looked better than a cluster of tree trunks. ![]() My Birthday! i just wanna show off my bday presents!
