  SO! News...

Had my last final on Friday. Got all my papers and things typed up, printed and ready to go. I think I did pretty well. I won't know 'til grades are emailed out Wednesday morning. (My school is very email-y: almost no paper notices ever, unless it's a form you need to fill out for something.)

Saturday I worked in the morning 'til about noon thirty. After that I took my kid sibs over to my brother and sister-in-law's new house to help 'em move. Mostly we helped pack the remaining stuff at their apartment into the U-Haul and bring it all into their house.
Later that afternoon I went home to get ready for my work Christmas party. It was at a local bar & grill. Pretty much you just show up and order something if you want (if you wanted to pay for it. ha.) After a while those who brought things to exchange started the ornament exchange, white elephant and cookie exchange (only one person brought cookies.) I was going to bring an ornament, but ended up running out of time to wrap it up before I had to leave. Oh wells.

Sunday night at my church was the children's choir Christmas Play (entitled A Lamb's Story, or something.) The frightening snow/sleet/horriblethings storm that was headed its way toward us was supposed to hit right before the play was to end. And it did.
It was just snowing when we got out, so it wasn't TOO bad, except at the parts where it was slick and slushy. Because of the crappy state of my breaks, my dad followed me home in the minivan to make sure I got home okay. I'd have had them looked at sooner, but I haven't had the financial resources to do so. :[
On the way home, my car was overheating. The thermometer in the dash was pointed firmly at the red H. If I was stopped enough, i/e at a stoplight, smoke/steam/whateveritwas would come out from under the hood. A few yards after getting to my street, it stopped. I had to sit and let it cool off enough for it to even think about starting up again. And then it stopped again two blocks down. After the second time of cooling off and going again, I made it up into my driveway. I haven't attempted running it since.
It was very nerve-wrecking. (I wouldn't say scary, 'cause I wasn't really scared. My dad was following me behind in the minivan. I was just super nervous it might decide to explode with me and my sis in it, or something. Scary.)

I have to go to work tomorrow....

But I got tonight night off from work because my family had the opportunity to see Neil Diamond for free. Something happened, and we weren't able to get the tickets. Don't know all the details.
So I didn't need the night off in the end.
That's probably better, with my car and all.

Also, our furnace stopped working Thursday. I was getting ready to go to work at about 9:45a when our carbon monoxide detector went off. My mom called the fire department, and when they came the CO reading was about 50 (I don't know what unit of measurement it was.)
So we all sat in my car while they fanned out our house. An energy guy came in and looked at our heaters and came up to tell us it was our furnace that'd busted.
All this made me about 35 minutes late for work.
(I called my supervisor and let her know what was going on. I haven't heard anything about it so it must be alright.)

When my dad came home from work, my parents went to Wal-Mart and bought a space heater and an electric blanket for each of us.
Though we now have our new furnace installed and running (as of this morning), I think I'm going to still use my e-blanket. It's nice and toasty. ^_^

  Aaaaaaaaaand that's pretty much it.

  I'm on winter break! :D
And we just got our copy of Stardust back. And I mean just got it back - she just dropped it off as I was typing this entry. So now, I'm going to go watch it.
  Yay!

paper, paper...
Saturday. 12.6.08
I've worked on my paper. I have, honest. I wrote down what I had to say. Now I need to come up with twice as many words before I turn it in. blaaaaahhhh.
I have no idea what else to put into it, 'cause I've already put in my thoughts: clear and concise. But I'm supposed to have nearly twice as many words as I have down right now. beh beh beh....*

Classes are over for the semester. Nothing but finals left. Which means two papers and a test. beh.. beh.. beh...*

Scavenger hunt's going pretty well, I think. That's good. :) Though lame-o me hasn't been on as much as I'd like to keep up with reward dishing, etc.
  beh.. beh.. beh...*

*"beh" is pronounced like "bleh", but without the L. Obviously.

  ALSO/THOUGH:
New things are coming to my layout section. Here's an "ad" I typed up a couple minutes ago to tell you all about it.

  OHMIGOSH!!! HUGE LAYOUT SALE!!!

I'm going to be doing some remodeling here in my layout section. Meanwhile I'm having a layout sale: only 10 PPS each! THAT'S RIGHT - 10 PPS each!!

Don't miss this opportunity to have the rights to some cool layouts while they're this cheap!

  So come buy some!
I'd been wanting to re-do some stuff over there for a while, now. And I sorely need to update it with screen caps, etc, of my newer layouts.
Also I'm going to be putting up a "template" section, too. More on that another time.

Helped make chocolate balls with my older bro Isaac and my sis Natalie. It's a traditional [for us] Christmas treat we make every year. It's pretty much powdered sugar, butter, shredded coconut, chopped pecans and evaporated milk [and other stuff, I'm sure] mixed and rolled into balls, then dipped into chocolate. SO delicious. It's THE treat everyone in my family looks forward to every Christmas.

Also today, I had a studio-wide [by which I mean all of my dance teacher's classes were performing] dance performance this morning. It was fine: no small children screamed, so it was all good. Afterwards I went over to my dance teacher [Kozetta]'s house to pick up an espresso machine she was going to give me. Her and her husband had remodeled their kitchen rather recently, so they'd had their espresso machine put away for that, and had kind of forgotten about it. Well, they'd recently decided to buy a new one, so one day Kozetta asked me if I liked cappuccinos and if I was interested in having an espresso machine. Being a coffee-liker and espresso-enjoyer, I of course said yes.
It's pretty snazzy. I have never operated such a machine before, so I'm all excited to learn how to use it well. Kozetta's husband showed me how to use it before I left ('cause they couldn't find the manual).
Earlier today after I got home, I looked online to see if I could find somewhere that had an owner's manual for that model. Couldn't find one: but I did find one for the same machine from a "different company". The cover has an image of the product, and it's the SAME MACHINE. The only difference between the machine the manual is for and the machine I got today is the brand logo.
So now I have a manual with instructions in pdf format. :D

  Aha!

Marshmallows
Monday. 12.1.08
Oh yeah, I do have stuff to update about!

About a month ago I was looking at the different degree and certificate programs the local junior college I'm going to offers. I found a degree program that I really liked the looks of: interactive media.
I've enrolled in the necessary classes for next semester. Pretty excited to get started!
Because I'd just been going for an AA degree I pretty much have all the extra credits done already. ha

Books are going to cost a lot, though. Especially my C# book for my Programming Fundamentals class. It's $105 new on Amazon. I'm asking my parents to help me pay for some of my books. I think they will, especially the C# one, 'cause my dad's all into computer technology stuff, so he's kind of excited that I'm taking a programming course. oh boy!
edit I had originally gotten my booklist based off the same classes this semester. So when I looked up the required book list for my classes again today, I was pleasantly surprised that the mucho expensive C# book is not required this spring. Yes!!

When I went to put some marshmallows in my hot chocolate today, I discovered that they'd all been eaten. :(

I was going to watch Stardust with my mom this afternoon, but after not being able to find it anywhere in the house I asked my sister about it only to find out that she'd left it at a friend's house over a month ago. :(

I'm still not sure what exactly I'm gonna do with my layout right now. I looked at some snowflake clip art yesterday. Not sure if I'll go with that idea or not. Something will come to me eventually.
Maybe after I finish my humanities paper. ha!

edit
Updated layout. Not sure how final it'll be.
  Also, updated playlist. Yay! :D
