We're Missing You Mitch
I got an ant farm. Them fellas didn't grow shit.

I haven't slept for ten days, because that would be too long.

One time a guy handed me a picture of himself, and he said, "Here's a picture of me when I was younger." Every picture of you is of when you were younger. Here's a picture of me when I am older. You son of a bitch, how'd you pull that off? Let me see that camera...

On a traffic light green means go and yellow means yield, but on a banana it's just the opposite. Green means hold on, yellow means go ahead, and red means where the fuck did you get that banana at...

I'm against picketing, but I don't know how to show it.

My lucky number is four billion. That doesn't come in real handy when you're gambling. "Come on, four billion! Fuck. Seven. Not even close. I need more dice."

If you had a friend who was a tightrope walker, and you were walking down a sidewalk, and he fell, that would be completely unacceptible...

I wrote a script for a guy, and he said he liked it but he thought that I need to rewrite it. I said, "Fuck that, I'll just make a copy."

The depressing thing about tennis is that no matter how much I play, I'll never be as good as a wall. I played a wall once. They're fucking relentless.

An escalator can never break. It can only become stairs. You would never see an "Escalator Temporarily Out Of Order" sign, just "Escalator Temporarily Stairs. Sorry for the convenience."

Alcoholism is a disease, but it's the only one you can get yelled at for having. Goddamn it Otto, you are an alcoholic. Goddamn it Otto, you have Lupis... one of those two doesn't sound right.

I was at this casino minding my own business, and this guy came up to me and said, "You're gonna have to move, you're blocking a fire exit." As though if there was a fire, I wasn't gonna run. If you're flammible and have legs, you are never blocking a fire exit.
Osmosis...Bitch

Just to let you know in advance, the title is an inside joke. Unless you were at ARGS today, it probably wouldn't even been funny if I explained it. One of those "you had to have been there" sort of deals. Trust me, I'm a fuckin riot.

So I made the venture up to ARGS today to attend some "Robotics Meeting" something or another. They were pretty much just sorting stuff and hangin around. Not like I had anything better to do today. I got really pissed when trying to get there though. The exit I usually take was blocked just far enough that you couldn't go down it. It made no sense, they blocked off an area of 10 yards maybe.

Well after that was done, Chris and I headed to the mall and got something to eat. Went to Chick-Fil-A. Chris noticed that the C in Chick-Fil-A was a chicken's head, the most obvious thing in the world. Not to mention we had the Chick-Fil-A logo almost anywhere you look in that place. All you see is:

Then we went to EB where Chris had another brilliant deduction, but we won't go into that. Just playin Chris. Haha. We also went to Circuit City, where I purchased my first actual CD in about 3 or 4 years. Downloading is my game usually. But I bought Modest Mouse's - Good News for People Who Like Bad News:

Speaking of downloading music for free, time for a little tech talk. BitTorrent is becoming a popular way to obtain certain "things" off the internet for nothing. Think of BitTorrent as a Kazaa, but more or less as a distributed file sharing. It taps into unutilized upload capacity of other people. Other people distributing your content. Great for sending large files to other people.

I've used a few BitTorrent clients, but my favorite has to be Azureus. Azureus is an easy to use, java based client for downloading multiple torrents, setting torrent priority, and useful information on your torrents. BitTorrent usually comes out with better content downloads than a Kazaa would. I'm not knocking Kazaa, it's been good to me. BitTorrent is becoming extremely popular and I've noticed more and more people leaving Kazaa.

To download Azureus: http://azureus.sourceforge.net/

To download standard BitTorrent: http://bitconjurer.org/BitTorrent/download.html

A good place to start looking at torrents is: www.suprnova.org
(yes, it is suprnova...not supernova)

Well, I'm tired now. Long entry. Sleep. Now.

Osmosis bitch.

One quick question: What the fuck did you do to yourself Nutang?

"Best Viewed in Internet Explorer"
more like
"Best Viewed in an Inferior Browser"

I mean at first it was like ok, I can get around this. Now its just plain annoying. I mean I can still do what I want in Netscape or Firefox. It just irritates me. Another reason to get the extension IE View in Firefox.

Is anyone ready to get back to college? I mean not that trivial class part of college, but the atmosphere and "don't give a fuck, do what you want attitude" of the campus life. Home is great and all, don't get me wrong. It's nice to kick back at home in "your" room.

Got a shirt coming in from Cali. Neat Nintendo shirt that I can show off on Thursday at the Robotics get together. That is, if it is promptly shipped and gets here on time. I won't hold my breath, though I did receive a confirmation that it has been shipped from the people.

Modest Mouse is awesome. You should listen to their new album Good News for People Who Like Bad News. Most everyone has either heard or seen Float On already. Good stuff.

I'm tired. Need to fold the clothes that are all over my bed right now. Yeah....

It seems as if Nutang had a bit of a malfunction at some point and lost a days worth of things from the blogs of everyone. I had a lengthy entry last night. I don't wanna do another one tonight.

Trust me.

It was good.

Mail to Kevin
Tuesday. 7.20.04 9:33 pm
Here is an email I sen to k. rose:

Hey Kevin. It's Scott and I wanted to send you an email about Duke's new program. They are going to provide 1,650-1,00 new 20 GB IPod's to incoming freshmen. They're trying to see if the IPod can double as a learning tool as well as a portable music player. They're also setting up a web site to download songs and course content. Sounds pretty good, although they are already paying an arm and a leg to attend Duke anyways. I thought that was pretty awesome, I wish my university would do something like that. If you wanna read up on the story, I've got 2 links. One is from CNN and one is from Yahoo! News:

CNN: http://www.cnn.com/2004/BUSINESS/07/19/apple.ipod.reut/index.html

Yahoo! News: http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=562&ncid=738&e=7&u=/ap/20040721/ap_on_hi_te/college_ipods

Just want to wish you good luck on your move to LA. Keep those dark tips coming. Later.

Scott

How awesome is that? Free IPod's. Of course they pay a massive amount of money to go to Duke anyways, like $40,000 a year I think. Those freshman deserved something. The most I've gotten from my school is like a window cling. Hmm, sounds fair. Not. IPod > ODU Window Cling.

One more thing to end this entry. A U.S. District Court finally got something right. For those who don't know, Washington state had passed legislation to ban the sale of games that show violence against law enforcement officers to anyone under the age of 17. Retailers would be fined $500 for every game sold in that manner. Luckily, the ESA(Entertainment Software Association) put a block on it. In court, the legislation was proved unconstitutional under the 1st Amendment's freedom of speech. It was good in a way. But then again, most stores have the ESRB ratings and have strict guidelines not to sell to people under 17 anyways. Just a little tidbit, the ESA is the one who came up with the ESRB. Kind of ironic. I'm 18 anyways, so I don't give a crap.

Here is something funny to go along with the past paragraph, I hope you enjoy my humor:

Everyone is trying to blame the violence we have today on other things.
It's those damn violent video games. Kill kill kill. Is that you, Satan?
No, itsa me. Mario! I know I always go around jumping on people's heads,
trying to make coins pop out of their asses.

Uneventfulness and Quarter 4
Sunday. 7.18.04 12:23 am
It's been quiet around here for a while. Kinda sucks. Just been doing the usual stuff: computer, work, etc.

Everyone can buy movies for $3.96. Its called a Blockbuster membership, a DVD-ROM, and DVD Shrink. Trust me. It works fine. Especially if you have a TV-Out.

I'm looking for a TV tuner card for this fall semester for my computer. That way I can just record some stuff whenever I'm out or what not. Plus if there is two good things on at once, I got it covered. I found a few nice ones with remotes, a remote being a definite plus. Lookin for some more ram and maybe a firewire card. We'll see how it goes. Also a hard drive enclosure for this other hard drive I removed from my old computer.I was glad to see that computer go, but it had a few things I could use, so I scrapped it for parts.

Quarter 4 of 2004 seems to be coming along as one of the most anticipated quarters ever in gaming history. Lets take some examples. Oh, I don't know. How about Doom3? Not only will this game be flying off of store shelves fast, new graphics cards and ram will also be missing from store shelves. I guarantee it.

There is also this sequel to a little game we like to call Halo.(Note:that was sarcasm) Halo 2 will be out early November, around the 8th or 9th. Thats a definite buy for anyone with an XBOX. Not to mention Doom 3 also being on the XBOX. Another DOA game is in the making slated for October. Another highly anticipated game, but overshadowed by the sequel market, is Fable. Be on the lookout for that one.

On the PS2 side, you can't mention Quarter 4 PS2 gaming without talking about GTA: San Andreas. People can't get enough stealing cars, shooting things, and beating up hookers. Mid October isn't a long wait for that. Any racing fan also knows that it doesn't get much better than Gran Turismo. The newest installation, GT 4, proves to top the entire series.

I'll finish this tomorrow. Too tired tonight. Bye.

Where is Everyone?
Thursday. 7.15.04 11:09 pm
Just seems like everyone is off doing something or another. Where are you people? Just haven't seen many of my friends update their blogs in a while. I dunno. Well, after saying that, I don't feel like blogging tonight. Not much going on. Oh well. Lata.
