I'm a bad, wait, HORRIBLE Christmas present shopper. I have a knack for waiting until the last minute (weekend) before Christmas to get it together. I went to Fashion Valley Mall here in San Diego to get my swerve on, and I got a headache from walking around aimlessly trying to figure out what to get for whom. That, and there were like a million people swarming in and out all the stores. To top it off, I had a somewhat negative experience at the Apple store, but not so much because the guy was only doing his job, but still, BOO nonetheless.
After I got fed up walking around the mall seventeen times, I left to go to Wal-Mart in National City to pick up a present alternative. It actually wasn't so bad at that particular Wal-Mart, because the night before I went with my BFF(!) Danica to another Wal-Mart in Chula Vista and that one was just like Fashion Valley, x10. And can I add that there were some careless people in there too. Excuse me Senora, but you aren't the only here, so please move that cart out of the way, gracias.
Yesterday after working out I went to the navy exchange to continue my shopping escapade. Let's just say I got people healthy alternatives as presents there instead of trying to rack my brains out.
Ok time to cut this entry short, I need to get ready to get some sushi at Otay, help another BFF(!) get a MacMini, then go Tattoo parlor hunting.

So I live here in San Diego, and the Harris fire came within miles of where I live. It was (and still is) a very humbling and thought provoking experience. I still can't believe that those fires were here.
I woke up Monday morning loathing my first midterm of the quarter when I get a call from a friend telling me to check out the news. Lo and behold, southern California is burning. All my classes were cancelled for the week because of horrible air quality, and fast-forward to the end of the week and here I am. I knew a couple of people who had to evacuate the fires, both in northern and southern San Diego county, but luckily their homes were not one of the ones devastated by the firestorms.
If anything, I would like to thank all the volunteers, firefighters, and anyone and everyone who contributed to helping out in this time of emergency. As for me, I did what I could, but I know that as long as their is a will, there will most definitely be a way.
