DAMNED WEATHER!!!
Saturday, September 23, 2006
I wasn't going to post another entry because no one had commented on the previous one and I don't know if anyone read it but atleast this will be a short entry and last night's is immediately below so please peruse that while you're at it...after finishing this one of course heh

So I buy two tickets to today's Phillies game. Yesterday's weather was phenominal but with the way that I already felt dizzy I would have gotten really sick all the way up where the only place we could get tickets would be. So we get tickets for today's game. It's game 2 of the three game series against the Marlins. We took the first game somewhat easily.

I wake up to the sound of light rain. I get up and check out weather.com and there's supposed to be rain up until the afternoon when scattered thunderstorms move in. What the shit??????! But we're going to take the train and subway ride to the stadium. Pick up our tickets. And sit in our seats and see if the game gets played. I wouldn't be so worried about it raining out but with no open days and only night games scheduled, they may have to make the makeup game to this a day game. That would be very, very not cool. I was thinking that they could try to make it tomorrow evening as they are already playing the Marlins and they have only one other home game in the season. But it is supposed to storm tomorrow evening as well. And I'll be pissed if I take four hour-long train rides and 4 30-minute subway rides to sit and watch two games get rained out. But I definitely want to see one more game this season!

So I am begging the Powers That Be that the storms hold off until after the game. Let it drizzle if it must but do not postpone this game.

Either way I think we're gonna get some full-size ponchos from ACME next door.

A Sick Day
Saturday, September 23, 2006
I thought I was feeling alright when I left work on Thursday. I called out (we call our boss when we get into our store and then call out before we leave for the day) and my boss wasn't there so I told her fiance to let her know that I didn't have any particular questions regarding my store and that I'd call her in the morning.

Now somehow I started getting extremely motion sick on the way to the mall to pick up Jenn. Normally I do not get motion sick at all. But when my Lyme cycle comes back around I am overly affected by it. I am not positive that this is what was causing it but I was feeling worse and worse the more I drove. I laid on the couch and felt miserable when we got back which is why I didn't go to Jenn's semi-audition with her because I wouldn't have lasted through the car ride back and forth from the train station and then four train rides required to get to the town where the audition was.

I seemed to have slept pretty well last night but I woke up with an extremely stiff neck and bad headache. I tried Excedrine Migraine and Extra Strength Tylenol but it wouldn't feel any better. I took a warm shower hoping that that would losen up my neck and make my head stop hurting. No such luck. Now I got SO motion sick that I was so glad that there was an empty plastic bag next to me. Luckily I didn't end up needing it but I certainly was very close to filling it.

I get to work and notice that my boss' car is in the parking lot in the spot in front of where I always park my car..which she knows. I had gotten a slow start because of how I felt and although I got there at about the same time I usually do I was definitely hoping that I wouldn't hear anything from my boss about it.

Now I couldn't find my PDA in the apartment so i figured that in my not feeling well after work, I left my PDA in my backpack which was still in my car. Well I didn't see it in my bag when i got to work. So I put all of my work stuff in a store shopping cart like I do every day (a lot of this will be more clear on the day that I explain the specifics of my job on here which I promise will be very soon) and walked into the store. As soon as she saw me she commented that I didn't feel well. I just nodded. I felt ill to my stomach and the store's flourescent lights were hurting my head. She told me that two other reps in her/our division (of 6 reps) called out sick and that I most likely have what they had and it would probably get worse in the next couple days. I thought I was going to have to somehow drive home to get my PDA and then all the way back to work without vomiting all over the interior of the car. She asked me if I had any GSG Sheets to open (will be explained later) for the week. I told her that I had completed the last one the day before. So she said that she wanted to show me a few things and then I could go home when she left the store.

So I get gas at the 7-Eleven 200 feet from the store where i work. i went in to see if they had any Dramamine to help with the sickness so that I could even get home. And at this point Jenn had told me that she was feeling very ill and had called out as well. I got my gas but they had no Dramamine but luckily I didn't really get sick on the way home but I did have to take some deep breaths when I parked in front of the apartment.

I came upstairs and sat at the computer. Then the thought occured to me that even though we weren't feeling so well we should go to the Phillies game because we've been wanting to catch another game before the season ended. But I searched for the best two seats together in the stadium and the only two seats together were all the way at the very top of the stadium. Not a good idea when I already felt ill. But I found two awesome seats for a great price in the outfield down the third base line. We're so excited to go. A rep from another company at my store went with his children tonight because I urged him to take them in mid-September. He wasn't sure about taking them after his boss took him to a day game in the Summer when it was 102 outside. i told him to go during the last homestand because the temperature would be perfect. Today had to be great weather wise to be there. And then the Ryan Howard hit his 58th homerun of the season and the Phillies won 5-2 to stay right near the top of the National League wild card race. But I think that we're going to be sitting right around where he was sitting from what he told me. I can't wait to go and I am hoping that they have a very similar performance for us tomorrow! This has been a personal record breaking year for number of games that I've attended in a single season. And I love it!

After the game we may go to the bar that etheracide's first drummer's parents bought to see how soon they will be able to have live music performed there so that we can still be one of the first acts to perform there. We finished confirming everything for our show on Friday October 6th and we'd like to be close to having another one booked by the time that we play that show. By the way...the band opening for us is Scorefour and this really should be an amazing show and hopefully we'll have video up for you all to see. We will most definitely have new pictures and this venue has the most space for better picture taking so we should get our greatest photos yet!

And then i will try to get more programming done on The mercury-system which is getting very close to full testing stage. I updated that 'blog just before this one so you can read what I did to it this evening/tonight.

Well i am off to get some sleep. I want to sleep in a little bit so that I feel better. I did get Dramamine to take to hopefully feel better for the two car rides, two train rides and two subway rides as well as feel the best that I can at the game. I will hopefully go get a haircut before the game tomorrow because I need one and it'll give it a week to grow in a little bit so that I can dye my hair next weekend for the show the following week.

I am going to go pass out now. Have a good night.

Talk to me!
