Melting Pot...
Monday. 9.11.06 3:17 pm
Grrr! I just wrote a whole entry and clicked "Publish this...". And POOF! it disappears. *sigh* It was about my grandmother. How about I rewrite it sometime later? I'm gonna make this short cuz she's leaving the hospital right now.

So here's my funny story:

A woman waits on the platform for a train to arrive. She boards the first one that comes. A look around and gasp. She's surrounded! By Chinese people! Her hand grabs the pole for dear life. To her left: Chinese. To her right: Chinese. Behind: Chinese! Her foot steps on the foot of a Chinese man.

"That's okay." The man reassures her (in english). She breaks out in a small smile.

"They're all foreigners!" She whispers urgently. The man stifles a laugh and respnds.

"I'm one, too."

Shocked, she stumbles back and into a corner. She turns to apologize to the woman she bumped into and gasps. She's Spanish!

She runs to the other side, gasp! Russians!

Another corner. Irish!

SURPRISE! She's on a train in NYC!

What kind of crazy...*shakes head* people who can't adopt to change. Even old ones. Heh. I'd love to drive her nuts with it...so much fun! XP

An okay Sunday + Update...
Sunday. 9.10.06 4:52 pm
Okay, my day hasn't been TOO bad so far...

I went to have lunch/brunch with my dad. He decides to be a jerk. Gives my this 'lecture' (wasn't much of one) of how I reject everything he says. Um, hello? One exchanges information and OPINIONS with another during a conversation. It's not 'rejection' when he says A and I answer with what I think about A. Jeez.

And then I had to broach the subject of my tuition for dance class. Apparently my parents made some sort of decision way-back-when. My dad pays for dance classes, even though *falsetto* "It was her idea".

If you haven't already realized, my dad can be pretty sarcastic and has a bit of a temper...He was in a bad mood today...or mad at me...*sigh* What about?

***** I added a music player!!!!! Yay! Thanks a thousand bunches to thaitanic!

My Medicine by Mika Nakashima

Lyrics are in my Reading room. ^-^

---IMPORTANT!

My grandmother fell in the street so I have to go check up on her. I may or may not blog tonight/tomorrow. Maybe in school. I had a funny story...guess it can wait. See ya.

Ahh, end of the day...
Saturday. 9.9.06 9:24 pm
Ah, no more classes! For today anyways. I had dance all day which I enjoy. But I'm real tired, all worn out. My neck is tight...I'll be aching all week. Even better, I have weight training everyday. Except for Tuesdays because I have Physics lab. You know, we have to climb stairs all day to change classes. After 6th period, I change in the lockerroom and march all the way up to the 8th floor. For weight training. I'll be flying by the end of the week. Up on my angel wings. I wish you all a good life.

In case any of you are wondering, my mom isn't Christian. She says Christians are good people. She's somewhat buddhist.

--I uploaded another song, er, lyrics up. Mika Nakashima's (yes, again) My Medicine. Hmm, I'm thinking of putting it up/playing here. So you can hear it. ^-^ Waddaya think?

Weekend Blues...
Friday. 9.8.06 6:45 pm
It's the weekend! But there isn't much to celebrate about. Reasons why? I'll be busy and won't have any free time to myself.

Saturday: I have classes all day.

Sunday: Spend all day with my mother. Fun? Good or Bad? Depends on her mood. It may be filled with laughter or...*sigh* Her permission comes along with her moods, too. Whether or not I'm allowed to read, write, turn on my laptop...

I finally went to a bookstore today. But I was met with disappointment--there weren't any new books on the shelves.

Oh, I changed my profile pic. Hopefully you can see it because I can't...

I'm hungry.

Glamming Up...
Thursday. 9.7.06 5:34 pm
Yes, the title says it all. I'm thinking of glamming up. "The Silver-dot- site: Glamed"

So, there is a scrolling text thing. It's blue and glittery and says 'silver.' It scrolls from the left to right. Think I should put it up?

Also, I went and got myself a countdown, but when I put it in a module, it didn't show up...the module sat there EMPTY. Though I was using it as a countdown until school started so now it's pointless. Hmm, maybe I should make up another countdown...

--I put it up anyway.

After taking a good look at the finished product, something occurred to me: Is it too girly? I feel like I should tone it down...How do I change the background to black or grey or something?

I told you, I have no clue how to go about layouts...I gave a HOLLER to the-muffin-man, but just it case you missed it:

HOLLERHOLLERHOLLLERHOLLERRRRRRRRR!

Help.

Some more 'ketchup'
Wednesday. 9.6.06 8:26 pm
Well, well, well.

I'm sorry if I didn't read/comment on some blogs! Needless to say I'm busy...*sigh*

I'm happy about my schedule because...I start third period! So I get to sleep..actually, not that much later. What can I do? It takes at least 45 min. to get down there so I'm pretty much up at the same time I used to. Besides, if I'm early enough--and I get permission--I can catch up and do a quick blog! Then I'll do a proper one that evening, er, night.

I have an EXAM next week. Physics. Yippee. No, my teacher is pretty nice and he says it won't be on anything we haven't learned by then. Do I believe him? After today's class? Yes, I do. He looks like an old, boring teacher who's been teaching for 23 years, but! He makes it fun and interesting. So, yeah, I like his class.

Hey, I wanted to put a video thing up, but I have no idea how to... Someone teach me. Please? Thanks!

My First Day of School....
Tuesday. 9.5.06 4:17 pm
I have a splitting headache. I'm just not used to thinking again. The space behind my eyes is empty. The little clam inside screamed as the lever of learning wrenched the shell open.

I was really hungry so I got a nice yummy sandwich from Subways.

As I walked, I passed the Columbus Circle mall. I stopped and asked myself, "Should I go up to Borders?" There was a chance new manga was on the shelves. In fact, I knew there would be. I haven't gone to the bookstores in a while. I've been too busy with NuTang. IT'S TOO ADDICTING!
Anyway, I decided not to since I'd been gone all day and I had a lot of catching up to do. And I was right.

Except I have nothing to blog about. And I've given up on reading all the blogs written today. My eyes are already tired and my headache won't get better if I continued. There's so much to think about!

Oh, and I have special classes that I'll be taking at night. So it'll take even more time away from NuTang.

*sniff*

Oops, I forgot the pluggies again! I'll start with day-before-yesterday's (which will be long because there are 14 people: thank you!)

Day-before-yesterday's Pluggies: frostbitten, ikamashokie, The-Muffin-Man, Kuri, Chloefoxx, invisible, of_your_mind, thisdisease, papaphysix, Dilated, little-b, Princess_00, randomjunk

And!!!

Yesterday's Pluggies: Kuri, The-Muffin-Man, ikamashokie, Chloefoxx, little-b

Thank you! Thank you!

Brag+Bad day...
Monday. 9.4.06 4:34 pm
First, I'm very exasperated, annoyed, and I just finished crying buckets. But I need to get something out of the way before telling you why.

I have another update on my-life-before-NuTang for you:
I had mentioned in an earlier entry that I'm a dancer. Though not your ususal hip hop dance-to-whatever-music-is-on kinda thing. More like...

Chinese Folk Dance! Yay! Hooray! That doesn't mean just ribbons and fans and handkerchiefs. There's all different kinds of Chinese dance: Xin Jiang, Tibetan, Korean, Mongolian, etc. You all took history, right? So you know that China had been occupied by different countries before and had occupied lands that are now parts of other countries. That is your answer to "What? Korean isn't Chinese dance and neither is so-and-so!"

*Brag Alert!* I've been dancing for 12 years! I used to take acrobatics so i could do flips, etc...though I can barely do a cartwheel now ^-^;; So I'm pretty flexible, ie: I can do splits. XD

Now I'm taking Peking Opera classes, too. I can manipulate a staff and that staff-like-thing with a blade at the end. It's mostly for show because, well, it's for opera. But! I can still kick some a** with it. XP

Oh, and my teachers aren't any run-of-the-mill idiots. They're accomplished dancers and artists: professionals from Beijing, Shanghai, etc...

Alright, I'm done with the bragging. XP

Exasperation+Annoyance=Tears. Not fun. Storytime!

Well, I was walking in the street one day with my mother. We were on our way to Home Depot because we're painting the apartment. A nice conversation along the way that ended in:

Mother: See, you won't go to Heaven!

Me:*glares at her from behind and says flippantly* Well, it doesn't matter. I'm not going to heaven because I don't believe anyway. There may or may not be a heaven or hell.

Me: You know, me and Annie had a philosophical discussion about this. Philosophy--philosophical. *explaining for her benefit* We've decided that we're not going to heaven. We're going to hell. It'll be fun!

Mother: See, those aren't good people! I'm a good person so I have lots of friends. You don't have any.

Me: Yes, I do!
--in front of Rockerfeller Center--
Mother: Oh, look! Ice-skating.

Me: In the winter only. Annie went ice-skating yesterday.

Mother: See, your friends don't call you out. They went without you.

Me: She called me weeks ago. You said no so I couldn't go.

Me: And she called me yesterday to see if I was going. And you said no.
--later--
Me: Cecilia said she was going to get her hair done today for tomorrow (first day of school), *next part said fast because she's opened her mouth to speak* but she probably can't go because she has a lot of rashes.

Mother: See, those aren't smart people. *referring to the 'get hair done' part*

Me: She's in the honor society! Don't assume they're not smart because she wants to get her hair cut!
--in Home Depot--looking at window curtain things--
Mother: Give me the measurements. Do they fit?

Me: *take out the measurements*

Mother: See if they fit.

Me: *measures* The big one is a bit short for the middle window *measures some more* The small one's bigger than the small windows

Mother:*silent for a minute, grabs them, and starts to measure them herself*

Me: *inward sigh* I measured them already!

Mother: *silent treatment*

Me: *inward 'geez'*

Mother: *contemplating how to go about this*...oh, we could just get small ones!

Me: Um, we can get one big one and two small ones. *The small ones would have extra we could use to patch whatever's left sticking out of the big one*

Mother: No! We'll get all small ones! Then, they'll fit!

Me: Okay. Since the big one is equal to two small ones, we'll get 4 small. How about that?

Mother: *after five minutes and me repeating what we had already said* No! We'll get one big one and two small ones! *like it was her idea all along*

Me: That's what I said in the beginning!

Mother: *ignoring me*

The rest of the day I chanted silently in my head: "Someone help me...someone save me...someone save me from this woman...someone save me from my mother..."

Oh. My. God. (no offense to Christians) She said those things so matter-of-fact. Everything. Like they were obvious and true. God! (sorry again)

And she's not some old fashioned person from China. (no offense here, too) She's been here for over 20 years, she speaks nearly perfect english, she has connections everywhere. She's not stupid, but this is her opinion of me.

Argh! Depression came over me and the waterworks started. Not in public, of course, but it happened. Now I'm better. NuTang makes me happy.
