Inconsequential Knowledge of Disaster & Catastrophe

Awesome. Sucky.

Well we ended up making it through the entire game without any rain! In fact the sun broke out several times. And when it did...it was literally painfully hot! The Philles pulled it out despite giving up two runs when we had four run leads in two seperate innings which included two solo homeruns in the top of the 9th. But they held on to win 8-6. And then the Diamondbacks beat the Dodgers which put us in the lead for the National League Wild Card by half a game!!!!!!! WOOOOO!

Now the Eagles take on the San Fransisco 49ers on the road tomorrow (technically later this afternoon) and hopefully they'll end up 2 and 1 by the end of the game. We will watch the Phillies game at 1:30pm and then catch the Eagles game so hopefully it will be a day of Philadelphia sports triumph!

The downer today was that the cellulitis that I suffered from last month is back. I missed a week of work and a doctor (which i paid out-of-pocket to see) and paid for antibiotics. Well I finished the antibiotics a little over a week ago and now it is back. So I am going to use ice/heat packs and keep it elevated as much as I can tomorrow. And see if I can somehow see the doctor on Monday or even have him write a refill for my prescription since it helped but didn't seem to give me long enough to completely kill whatever the infection is that caused the cellulitis. Please wish me luck with this ailment. I really can't manage to miss any more work. Can't lose the money and the lost days could cause a problem as far as my company is conserned. But I pray that it won't get as bad as it did last time as I couldn't even stand on my left leg let alone go to work on it all day.

Well I guess that's about it. I am just very glad that we got to check out the game and that the Phillies are currently atop the Wild Card race! GO PHILLIES!

DAMNED WEATHER!!!
Saturday, September 23, 2006
I wasn't going to post another entry because no one had commented on the previous one and I don't know if anyone read it but atleast this will be a short entry and last night's is immediately below so please peruse that while you're at it...after finishing this one of course heh

So I buy two tickets to today's Phillies game. Yesterday's weather was phenominal but with the way that I already felt dizzy I would have gotten really sick all the way up where the only place we could get tickets would be. So we get tickets for today's game. It's game 2 of the three game series against the Marlins. We took the first game somewhat easily.

I wake up to the sound of light rain. I get up and check out weather.com and there's supposed to be rain up until the afternoon when scattered thunderstorms move in. What the shit??????! But we're going to take the train and subway ride to the stadium. Pick up our tickets. And sit in our seats and see if the game gets played. I wouldn't be so worried about it raining out but with no open days and only night games scheduled, they may have to make the makeup game to this a day game. That would be very, very not cool. I was thinking that they could try to make it tomorrow evening as they are already playing the Marlins and they have only one other home game in the season. But it is supposed to storm tomorrow evening as well. And I'll be pissed if I take four hour-long train rides and 4 30-minute subway rides to sit and watch two games get rained out. But I definitely want to see one more game this season!

So I am begging the Powers That Be that the storms hold off until after the game. Let it drizzle if it must but do not postpone this game.

Either way I think we're gonna get some full-size ponchos from ACME next door.
