A Follow Up To Yesterday

I didn't post an entry last night due to the testing we were doing to mercur-system in which we had every tester possible going at it to see how well it handles a larger number of people using it at the same time. Reports will be made at the previous link as to how well that went.

Watched the Phillies game last night which was going well until the 7th inning. This was a makeup game and it became the last home game of the regular season and possibly for the season. We'd had a 4-2 lead going into the seventh where we proceded to give up 3 runs. I figured that we did some great hitting throughout the night and that we had three innings to get that one run back and then some. Despite their efforts they were unable to make up the run and lost to the Astros 5-4. Now they are tied with the LA Dodgers for the NL Wild Card lead. The powers that be couldn't have planned it much better...two teams being tied for the NL Wild Card playoff berth with both teams having 6 games left. Both have two series left. The next closest team is actually the Astros but they are four games back. But their eyes are oddly enough on the NL Central Division spot instead of the Wild Card. But 4 games can be a difficult deficit to make up when there's only 6 games left. Pretty much have to win all 6 and hope for atleast two losses from the Cardinals. The Phillies start agains tthe Nationals and then their final regular season series in Florida to play the Marlins whom they just swept at home. The Dodger's last series is agains the Giants who seem to handle them pretty well normally. So it's going to be a hell of a week which will hopefully find the Phillies in the WIld Card spot. They just really could have helped themselves a lot with a win last night. But now they just have to come out harder the last 6 games of the regular season.

Work didn't go too badly last night. Ended up being in almost an extra 10 minutes which I can take off the end of another day...probably Friday haha My boss ended up not being at my store all day as I had thought she'd be. She did stop in for over a half hour but it was actually at a time when I could have used her for a bit because I needed help trying to get the store to put out a washer/dryer pair that are in the Home Depot national ad which are supposed to be on the floor. But then she left and left me to my devices. Now she is gone until Thursday night so Friday is the first day that I could possibly see her. And hopefully I won't. But if I do then she should try to hit all of her stores to make sure that everything is good so if she does come in it should just be for a short time.

We have practice on Wednesday night. Well it is actually a rehearsal more so than a practice. But our bassist told us that he doesn't get out of class until 7 so he will probably miss the train that would get him to practice when it starts at 8 because he got out at 6:50 the week before and just missed it and now he loses an hour on that. But I'm hoping that he can make it down for 8 because we need the full two hours together. So hopefully he'll be able to make it down in time.

That's about it. I don't really have the time to get into something 'deeper' because I still ened to eat something and then get ready for work. But perhaps this evening I will. But in any event..have a great day and I'll catch you later.

Not such a bad day
Sunday, September 24, 2006
Well my leg was pretty swollen last night but I believe that I still managed to sleep pretty well despite the earlier pain because I woke up feeling fairly refreshed. First thing of the day was to do laundry. Needed to wash my work clothes for the week and I was nearly out of boxers. You don't want that and neither do I.

The I took Jenn to Kohls to look for a dress but without the desired effect...came home without even seeing a single dress. They aren't carrying them. Then we got yummy salads from the salad bar at the Acme across the street.

Put on the Steelers game as the Phillies game hadn't started yet and even after it did, it was hard to watch the first inning. Then we flipped back and forth from the Phillies to the Steelers and back and for and back again I suppose.

The Steelers game ended and the Phillies game was in the midst of a long rain delay. We started watching the Eagles. Well that came out at full steam the entire first half. They were racking up yars and points without a problem and much of an answer from the 49ers. At halftime the Phillies rain delay had ended. The Phillies won their game 10-7 to sweep the Marlins in the three game series. Unfortunately the Dodgers beat the Diamondbacks for the second time in the series to keep within half a game of the Phillies. But we still have the lead. And then despite some tense moments...the Eagles pulled out a win to go to 2-1.

The Redskins went to 1-2 as did the Giants. So we have a full game lead over both of them and the Cowboys had a bye week. Now we'll see what happens next week.

My leg still doesn't look good and still hurts. I am going to try to call the doctor while at work tomorrow to see if they can simply write a prescription for the antibiotics that they gave me for this problem a month or so ago. if not, i will have to take an hour and a half lunch from work to go to the appointment to get checked out and then stay at work the extra hour to get all of my hours in. I really hope that this gets better and doesn't get swollen as it did last time!

My boss has to go to Atlantic City, NJ tomorrow evening until Thursday night for a company meeting so it'll feel more like a "free" week of sorts but if she holds true to her plan, she wants to spend the day in my store to get some stuff done since mine is the only store that she hasn't spent even a whole day in. Most others have seen her for many whole days and some have seen her every day for a week. At most I get an hour visit once every two or three weeks. You really get used to it. But she said that she would spend the day in my store before going to Atlantic City. Honestly I hope that another store actually needs her and therefore leaves me alone.

That's about it for now.
I will be back tomorrow.
Goodnight.
