I voted today. Well actually at 12:15 am this morning... but still technically today. I just need to drop my ballot in the mail and will have done my civic duty. Something that less than 50% of people 18-24 do. Have you voted yet? If you haven't, why not? You don't have an excuse.

I have to give out Halloween candy on Friday, should be interesting. One of my initiation events I have to do for Tau Beta Pi. I have to give little bags of Halloween candy out in the engineering school. *drudge* Ah well, shouldn't be that bad, plus I can keep a bag or two for myself, and some to give to my visitors Friday evening. =)

The Waldo smiley!!

You know I used to have all of the Where's Waldo books. The big books: Red, Blue, Yellow, Green, Hollywood, .. there was one other I think. I had the video game, and I used to watch all the tv shows. Those were cool. Waldo would go around in the places that he visited in the books. Ahhh.. childhood memories. My friends said I looked like Waldo. I don't see a resemblence.

And that puzzle in the back of the Hollywood book, the one with all the Waldo's on it. The entire two pages was filled with Waldo's, but only one was the real one. And you could tell because he was the only one missing a shoe. I could always find the shoe easy, but finding the real Waldo always took forever.

Maybe that's why I pay attention to detail a lot.
Maybe it all started with Waldo..
Maybe.. just maybe.. .
Everything starts with Waldo........
Deep...

This Is Not Another Thing
Monday. 10.25.04 9:09 am
Well I haven't written an entry just letting people know what's been going on. Rather instead I've been writing these weird obscure ones that I don't think anyone's gotten. Hey, that's what happen when you write these things in the morning after you're tired and just taken a quiz. ``

Anyway, things have been really good lately. Class and life in general. Not specifically in that order. =) I got to see my parents this past weekend, they came up here on Saturday for parent's weekend. So that was nice. I'm also going home this upcoming weekend, so yay!! Twyla and Jessica are coming back and picking me up on the way. Thank you, thank you. It'll be nice to be home again, at least for a day or so.

I'm busy as always. It never fails, lol. As soon as things start to quiet down and I get in control of stuff things always come up that make me busy again. And by my choice too. Like I got a job working about 10-15 hours a week on web database programming here. Which is nice because I get to work on it from my own computer and make my own hours. I really like that. Actually I was thinking the other day and it would be pretty cool to think about maybe setting up my own little company being a contractor for programming and websites and stuff like that. Its something to think about down the road I guess. I mean that's the stuff I like to do and you get to work on all kinds of different projects. I'll have to give that some serious thought. Anyway, that and different societies. I think I'm going to join the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) chapter here. It doesn't cost that much, plus you get a free magazine each month, and it looks good on resumes. Plus the fact I was offered membership into the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society. And I have to do one more event with them before initiation next month. For the most part I like keeping busy and having something to do, now I have no excuse to be doing nothing. ``

I came to the realization today that my supposed career choice in life, mainly that of programming and such, is a field that produces nothing tangible. Well almost nothing tangible. I mean a mechanical engineer can show off cars they've worked on, motors they've built, an aerospace engineer can point to a supersonic jet and say, "I designed that", a civil engineer can stand next to a skyscraper and accounce that that was his doing, a computer engineer can... show you a CD?

I mean really, with the exception of circuit boards, computer engineers really don't create anything physically tangible in the sense of holding something and saying "that was me." You can't touch software, connectivity can't be put in a container, email can't be attached to your refridgerator door, and you can't take a picture of the Internet. That doesn't mean it isn't worth something. I wouldn't do it if it didn't mean something. But in the traditional sense you aren't actually creating something physical. And yet people pay thousands of dollars for a piece of software, and will pay $50 or so a month to be on the Internet. Society seems to value this form of mental stimulate more than physical stimulation when it comes to products. Video games. Billions of dollars in revenue every year, and yet the game takes place in our heads. Nothing physical save the controller. Its the colors on the screen reacting to your input that makes it so engaging. This kind of entertainment gets valued more and more. I think its interesting.

Oh, by the way, those were blocks of quotes from movies, every block contained quotes all from the same movie. Princess Bride, Clue, Truman Show, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Tiny Toon Adventures: Summer Vacation, The Great Mouse Detective, and Star Wars. And the story with the squirrel was a lie. I did see a squirrel get trapped and dart off to one side, but no one screamed. The contradiction was the statement "I'm lying." Because if I am lying, then that statement is true and therefore not a lie. If that's true, then I did lie which means what I said was actually true, therefor not a lie. Either way, it leads to a contradiction.

Later.*kisses* I love you

Am I Lying?
Sunday. 10.24.04 10:38 am
I was walking back from class the other day and while I was passing the llibrary there is this big open area where people walk, and this squirrel was right in the middle. People were walking on all sides of him, but essentially trapping him and he couldn't get out. He had a nut in his mouth and was looking frantic. Then all of a sudden he bolted off to one side right through a group of people and this one girl screamed and started flailing. It was funny.

Have you ever wondered if the world disappears when you close your eyes? Like when they're closed you know what's going on out there. Its like the refridgerator light. No way to know what's going on in there since you can't see in. Same thing with a book. When I was little I always used to wonder if the words stayed on the pages that I had already read, and if the words on the pages I hadn't gotten to were there or not. I think I convinced myself into believing that the book was writing itself just for me to read. That made reading really fun for a long time. That is until one day I was reading a really old book and it broke while I was reading it and all the pages came out and I could see them all at once. It broke the illusion.

A few days ago at the grocery store I saw a football player shopping at Kroger. He was a good 6' 5" and over 250 lbs, picking up a bag of apples. He looked like a nice normal person. Hard to believe that in games he runs full speed and tackles people.

Well, I'm lying. Two of the three things I just said were lies. Two of three things I just said were complete fabrications, didn't happen, not true, fallacies, false. Can you spot the lie, and the truth?

Which two were lies, and which one is true, which actually happened?
And I'm curious, how did you tell the difference?

Bonus points if you can spot the contradiction here.

What a wonderful smell you've uncovered.

Hey, hey, what are you trying to pull?

Oh.. the uniform.

I find your lack of faith disturbing.

You see? She can be reasonable.

I'm gonna get me some edumacation!

The deranged lunatic has a psychotic aversion to pork. Exposure to any pig product will cause this lunatic to fly off the deep end. Remeber this important number: 555-9...

We're waiting for the clock toooo strike three! When it's three o'clock we'll be free!

Now if you ask real nice I'll consider letting you hang out with me.

They bring their own food to the drive through.. I don't believe this family.

The traditions of the south: beautiful mansions, refined gentlemen, and delicate ladies... Strike my last stereotype.

*sings* 86 bottles of non-alcoholic beverage on the wall, 86 bottles of non-alcoholic beverage...
Call me picky, but isn't the song "100 bottles of beer on the wall"?
We don't DRINK in our family!

Come back, we have sky diving lessons at 4!

There's no way out.
All windows have bars, all the doors are locked.

He was always a rather stupidly optimistic man.
I'm afraid it came as a great shock to him when he died.

How can you make jokes at a time like this?
It's my defense mechanism.

Let us in, let us in!
Let us out, let us out!

Are you a cop?
No, I'm a plant.
I thought men like you were usually called a fruit.

A month?
Its the busy season.

Bottom line is they can't drive the boat... They're actors!

Look at that. That's the big man. Quite a paintbrush he's got.

Death, the great equalizer. When will death occur? Could be a month, a week, a year. Sun bather, randomly stabbed by a run away beach umbrella. No way to guard against that sort of thing.

I'll cross my fingers for you.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I bet he's sitting in his car right now debating whether to come or not.

No, I'll take the heat on this one.
Trust me, you don't want this much heat.

I'm truely sorry sir this was all.. Grace! ..I know, it was inconsiderate and I apologiz... GRACE!!!
