Sunday. 11.8.09 6:59 pm
so cool! The RenneFest was just, so freaking cool. I felt like I had stepped back in time, seriously! I even ate a turkey leg (delish!)
I really want to dress up next time I go, too. I mean, you could rent costumes and whatnot, but its just not the same. Either that, or start taking belly dancing classes like, NOW and be a belly dancer there. They were amazing, and so was my friend. There was a crazy hypnotist there who was just awesome. I really wanted to be hypnotized because it seemed like a ton of fun! I got to watch a joust, and amazing musicians were everywhere. Not to mention it was an absolutely beautiful day to live in the Carolinas. It was warm, and the trees are just drenched in amazing oranges, reds and yellows. I even got a little sun on my face, haha.
And then I came home to a pumpkin pie. SERIOUSLY? Perfect way to end my day!
School tomorrow, not cool. Mondays and Wednesdays are math and composition (which I just remembered I have an essay due tomorrow, oops!) These are my least favorite days, but shortest. So, its like a two-way sword haha.
How was everyone else's day? What are you all doing for Thanksgiving? It seems like everyone gets so stoked for Halloween, it comes and then, BOOM! Christmas! Where the hell is Thanksgiving? Doesn't anyone else look forward to eating until you bust, or is that just me? Lol, I'm probably going to be laying around all day watching the parade like I always do, then eating and probably going over to a friends house to play board games for the rest of the night! So, that'll be really fun!

Keep on keepin' on!

What I Wouldn't Do
Sunday. 11.8.09 10:44 am
Well, good morning tangworld! :)

I'd just like to say, that
vanilla chai tea lattes + nag champa incense +music =
best.
morning.
ever.

Today, might possibly be the icing on the cake, and not yesterday. :O
Shwhaat? Yes, I went there.
My friend just called me and invited me to go to the Renaissance Festival today! I've never been, and I've ALWAYS wanted to go. Our friend is a belly dancer and today is the last day to go and watch her dance! She is so good and I'd love to try it one day! But, moving on. I'm sure you're asking "But Emily, what exactly goes on at the Renaissance Festival?"
I'm glad you asked, because since I've never gone, I don't know so I'm going to go check the website right now.

From the website itself (http://www.royalfaires.com/carolina)
The Renaissance Festival is a 16th century European style art and entertainment festival combining outdoor theater, circus entertainment, arts and crafts marketplace, a jousting tournament, a feast fit for royalty, and much much more. The 16th annual season opens this fall for seven festive weekends, Saturdays and Sundays, from October 10th to November 22nd.

The Carolina Renaissance Festival was introduced in 1994 with six acres of exhibits, attractions and entertainment. The event has grown into a twenty acre theme park filled with charming cottages and castles, kitchens and pubs, and a most unusual collection of people powered rides and games of skill.

The Carolina event has grown to be one of the largest of the Renaissance fairs nationwide. Tree lined lanes are filled with over 100 purveyors of crafts and food, and non-stop music and comedy shows are presented on 10 stages every event day.

This is one of the most interactive entertainment shows ever created with wonderful amusements and antics ongoing all around you! You can sit back and watch, or you can become a part of the action, surrounded by over 500 costumed characters roaming the festival village. The village lanes are full of peasants singing sea-faring songs and street entertainers surprising you with tall tales and tricks, each with a role to play.

You can experience the clashing of armor and the thundering of hooves daily with full combat jousts at the King's Tournament Arena.

So pretty much, it sounds badass and I for one, am so freaking stoked. I will definitely let you all know how it went! It is going to be the best. I'll try and get some cool pictures as well.

Question, how do you like to spend your mornings, or how would you like to spend them, given you had the time to? You already know my answer! Tea/coffee, music and incense! Go! :D

I hope your day is awesome!

Keep on keepin' on!

Today
Sunday. 11.8.09 1:19 am
was a success. ^.^

It was pretty much exactly what I needed. This whole weekend was. But today was just the icing on the cake. Being with some of the best, not to mention my favorite people in the world, and being at a band competition and even Cracker Barrel and the drive home was just perfect.

Tomorrow, I'm waking up and making pancakes and bacon, relax for a little bit and probably rearrange my room finally.

Bring it on!

Keep on keepin' on.

Hello all! Can I please just say that today has been awesome?
Sleeping in, check!
Cracking open a pomegranate and eating it, check!
Going to 5a marching band state, about to be a check!

Man, I have not been to a band competition since I graduated high school. I'm a little upset with myself about that, because band was such a huge part of my life. I blame the band I was a part of the last 3 years of high school. It just sucked so bad. No where near the first band I was a part of.

Actually, I think the only reason that I'm REALLY excited is this is like, 3 days in a row that I've been out of the house! :D Which NEVER happens any more. For a 19 year old, I sure do lead a boring life any more! Ugh, hopefully all that will change once I transfer to a real college! But, I just wanted to share my excitement with you all! Because it is seriously ridiculous how excited I am right now! :D

I hope your day is just as wonderful as mine is/going to be!

Keep on keepin' on!

Why, hello there :)
So tomorrow, I'm getting up early, like 8am early, and I'm going down with my dad to this walk for Alzheimer's. I've never really done anything of the sort, but I figured it'd be good of me to donate my time and money to something useful, and something that hits home. Plus, it'll be good to get off of my ass for a change.
I'm not exactly sure what else there is to talk about. I'm just bored, mostly.
Hm, well on the bright side of things, we have like, 3 weeks left until Christmas break? Yes. Yes yes yes, a million times yes. I'm so stoked. I have about a 3 week break for that. It is most needed. After taking a year off from graduating high school, then jumping back into school, it is seriously draining me. Not really the classes, as much as the act of a routine. My classes are pretty easy this semester. I'm really upset that my school only offers 2 philosophy courses and that I took both this semester. Next semester is going to be so boring. I love my philosophy and ethics classes. I didn't expect to, but I really do. They're challenging in a good way. They really make you think about things that you usually wouldn't think about on a daily basis.
Mur, there is really nothing else going on in my life that is exciting. I wish there was. Uh, I might be going on a skiing trip in Feb? I've never been skiing, or to the mountains (which I live about 3 hours away from, and I don't understand that when I've been to the beach a lot. whatev)
So, hopefully that will happen? Other than that, I'm just counting down the days till Christmas break, and the day that all my friends come home.

Anyone got anything that will cure my boredom? Haha :)

Keep on keepin' on!

Alright, another question time. Do you have an album/albums that you could listen to, from start to finish, for hours on end, or an album/albums that have had a great impact on your life?
I know I do. From start to finish, I have too many to name. But, I do have a handful that have had a tremendous impact on me. They would happen to be
Taking Back Sunday - Tell All Your Friends
Pink Floyd - The Dark Side of The Moon
The Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart's Club Band
and, don't laugh...
Good Charlotte - The Young & The Hopeless :)

Kind of an eclectic bunch,if you think about it, but yes. They're all very important to me.
Taking Back Sunday, and Good Charlotte were there in my "teen angst" days. I'm sure most of you know what I'm talking about. But, Taking Back Sunday just, got it. I still think that to this day, that is their best album. Every song just fits on there, and doesn't seem out of place. Every single word on there, I related/relate to. They just have a beautiful way of saying the simplest of things, I think. And Good Charlotte. Oh boy. I do believe they were good. I'm not going to say they "sold out" or whatever. I just don't like where their music went. Their first two albums, The Little Things and Y&H were just, awesome. So, freaking awesome. It did help me through some rough patches in my life, so I am forever grateful to the Y&H album. The Beatles have just always been there in my life, and that was the first album I REALLY listened to. I was probably 10 when I sat down and listened to it, and appreciated it.
Now Pink Floyd is a whole different story. I used to despise my parents music growing up (beisdes The Beatles). But, right before I moved to South Carolina, on a whim I bought the Dark Side of The Moon album and listened to it the entire way, on the plane. Completely changed my outlook on classic rock, I'm not kidding. It is just so, different. There is just something about it that I can't exactly put my finger on that makes it one of my most favorite albums of all time. It just, is.

So! What is your favorite genre of music? What albums are your faves, or have impacted you the most? Let me know!

Keep on keepin' on!
