"Unbutton your clothes, undress your soul, show them your vigor.." -Our Lady Peace "It doesn't kill you, it's not a one-way ticket to a lonely life. It might break your heart, but the physical risk is low. You might feel so bad that you wanna die but if you died you would never know, that it didn't kill you. Soon you would've felt better." -Fastball | ikimashokie hates me Tuesday. 4.15.08 7:47 pm not really, but I think it's hilarious that she commented on my 5 mins of fame in the top 10 and then effectively rubs me out. :D Check out her blog because today she says some things I quite strongly agree with. Plus, she's going to try to hula-hoop for a day. How awesome is that? ![]() Comment! (9) | Recommend! So, I need advice Monday. 4.14.08 8:51 pm or suggestions, really. This is a difficult time for me. In 28 hrs or so, it will be the anniversary of my friend's death. Death can be touchy subject, but I'm not sure what I should do that day. I won't be in a good mood, obviously, and I'm not sure how active I'll want to be. I don't entirely wish to stay inside all day, but I really do not feel like being accosted by the press. The last thing I need is to hear 'How do you feel?' when it's already obvious I don't feel okay. On the flip side, I'm not the sentimental type, so it would be hard to do something 'in celebration of her life' or whatnot. So, my question is, what do you think I should do this Wednesday? Comment! Monday. 4.14.08 2:32 pm The Social Web Monday. 4.14.08 2:11 pm It's fair to say that Facebook, Myspace, and other such sites were originally meant for purely social use. In some respects, I think they were great ideas in the making (though maybe not the best execution) and that there is credit deserved. But what bothers me is how these sites have opened doors to new issues regarding personal privacy. The stalker issue is well covered already, so I won't bother with it. But what about companies? Why do they have a right to look up your page? It's not like your page is a product of whatever you do from nine to five. It should be your personal space. It should fall under "When you're at home, it's your business" and no one else's. Now, there's all this national security type of issue commonly arising. (I have to honestly wonder, though, how many terrorists are currently staring at myspace pages in hopes of discovering something secret.....not that I'm saying it can't happen.) So, there goes the whole idea of connecting the world when the world wants to look but not be seen. It's just silly. I suspect one of these days there will be laws about internet interaction with particular countries. That makes me feel....ridiculous. Comment! (0) | Recommend!
