So I called nextel today to figure out what the deal is with my phone, my plan has free nights and weekends but its got nothing for long distance, so I wondered if the free nights and weekends included long distance, but you can guess the answer, Nextel wont give a freebie out to anyone. So Either I dont make any longdistance calls or recieve and long distance calls, or I up my plan another 10 bucks a month to add about 400 Long distance min. but I have to keep it through next February so I THINK I'LL PASS!!!! so unless something else happens, dont call, just e-mail me! yeah I know the music doesnt work on the website yet but hopefully I'll get it running in the next few days here, I'm having some problems getting the songs hosted on the net so once thats cleared up everything should work. I think the music will add alittle zip to the site, and I'll have 5 songs on there as you can see! I hope to put some new stuff that might not be super popular to give you all some new listening material
Alright I'm hungry, I'm heading back to the room to make a sandwich or 2 and then its off to Aspen to watch some Superpipe finals
HAVE A GREAT DAY

I woke up today to a few inches of snow and more still coming down. It's always good when the snow is falling, except when you have to make your way to the other side of copper to get back to your car! The bus system around here is pretty reliable though and I think I got it all figured out now.
Now on more of a serious note, I know most of you have had your thoughts about me just packin up and moving a couple state lines away. Don't worry, I have too! I just couldnt figure out why know? Why not right after high school? And I'd have to say that coming out here was kinda my idea. I didnt have some vision from Heaven saying "Kevin, pack your things and go to a land I will show you!" And that kinda bothered me. I was involved in alot of stuff in the Campus Ministry at GVSU and to leave that all suddenly and break all those connections I had with alot of new people kinda seemed strange. Not to the extent that I was walking away from God, just walking away from the commitments I made at the beginning of the year to all the Leadership teams. But then I went to Dillon Community Church this morning to meet up with the Vanderkoois and go to the service. I had beat em there by a good 10 min. so I walked in and pretty much just started talking to the few people that were already there. I met this Lady, I forget her name but she invited me over for food tonight! :) Anyway we started talking about the usuall stuff. How I was from the GR area in Michigan and I had gotten the job and moved into the edge and I knew the Vanderkoois..... and she said this to me that I think pretty much ment more to me than anything in the sermon later on. She said she was employed at copper and so was her daughter. And she had noticed that The Edge (where all the Human Resources offices are and Employee housing) had always seemed like a faithless place, and that she and her family had been praying for a few strong Christians to take up residence and just live the life! 5 min into the Conversation she seemed to have answered that huge burden I had been carrying around and I didnt even know this person at all. This spoke many things to me. It showed me that I have to really watch my actions living in this place! Not that you dont have to back in good old Hudsonville, but it just Highlighted that fact. It also showed me that I'm here for a reason. When I think about it, I just moved half way across the continent with an old beat up car, not much cash, and no job or place to live. less than a week later I find myself with a great job, a smooth running car (when you consider the altitude :) ) and I live in a great position to use all the skills I left GVSU with!
ok so instead of going to the games tonight with some of the guys on 3rd floor, I decided to trade it in for an afternoon of bordom, but I also get to go to this families house tonight for a in house night service, and food, and I get to meet more people my age I guess!
so thats the latest!
Kevin

New Site / New Home / New Job
Saturday. 1.29.05 12:09 pm
Well everyone, I have nothing to do today, so I found this website that allows you to pretty much code the whole site yourself which opens up bold new possibilities and cool new graphics.

I hope you found the site alright, I linked to it from the old site, the profiles, and anyway I could think of.
Besides the new site, there are some new things going on since just the last post the other day! As you probably read in the title, I am locked in through April with a the best job I applied for and cheap housing at 8 bucks /day and its under 5 min from work and under 5 from the slopes as well. I got a job at Copper Mtn working at a rental / retail / tuning store. Its a full time Job working 40 hours a week when its busy and 20-30 when its slow, which is good cuz when its busy, I dont want to board anyway. the philosophy of my boss is to get out and ski 100 days of the year. He doesnt fool around either, after my interview he went off to a 2 hour lunch break and got some good turns in!!!
I have housing in the old club med building which has since been turned into the Human Resources building and employee housing. Its super tight dormstyle housing, but who can complain when your paying half as much as the cheapest place to rent in Frisco (the near by town!) For those of you unfamiliar with Club Med, it's this resort company with the idea of making small rooms and a big common area to get the guests out of the rooms and into more interaction.
The benifits for this Job rock! I get a free seasons pass to Copper obviously, but in addition to Copper the deal includes about 15 other resorts in Colorado too. My job doesnt actually start til the 7th, so until then, its alot of boarding and skiing! especially this coming Monday and Tuesday as the X-games will be wrapping up in Aspen. I'll be heading out there to ski Aspen for the day and watching the X-games with some other guys from the dorms!
well I believe that's all for now, this is the first post and its kinda a trial post cuz I'm still actually writing parts of the website yet! Hopefully the site is up and running well for all to see, I'll write more when new stuff happens
Oh I forgot... if you want to read the old posts go here http://www.livejournal.com/users/parksboarder/
