Well yes. I've survived the day.
I'd like to thank those of you who wished me any form of luck in getting through the day. It wasn't so bad. The worst part of getting to work was the sun. At the time of day that I leave and the direction in which I had to go meant that the sun was directly in my eyes the entire way. Thank god it wasn't raining. However some of the roads were still a little slick from the rain that occured overnight until a few hours before I left for work. I made it there in decent time. Before my boss got there.
Well we didn't only one section...bath fixtured which included two bays of toilet seat displays and stock (about 50-60 different displays in total), a special order bathroom set bay and 6 bays of toilets with 5 a piece. I had to carry 15 toilet bowls up a 12 foot ladder one at a time to put them in the overhead because they did not belong on the floor because they aren't displayed any longer. I had to fix all of the signs as well as remove all of the stock (a couple hundred) boxes of toilet tanks and bowls to restack them and move them to where they are supposed to be merchandised. Let's just say that each item is damned heavy. I was sweating so much all day and my muscles hurt like hell. And to make things even more thrilling...my head had to start pounding towards the end.
We technically still didn't get the section to 100% but that's because the previous rep did as very little work as he could get away with. And as it turns out..it was so bad that he couldn't get away with it. Well it does look a lot better. And Karen mentioned to her boss on the phone that she wishes that her division was made up of 4 more of me haha I sooo want/need/deserve a large raise!
Speaking of which...I am waiting up now to keep checking my bank account by phone because I get direct deposit and it is always available just after midnight on Friday morning. And I really want to know what I have before I go to sleep. Hopefully it will be an amount that will help me sleep. You see...my raise still hadn't gone through for the previous week that I was paid (which I didn't think that it would that soon) and I don't know what it is. Plus I am supposed to be paid that raise for every hour that they missed since the day that marked exactly 6th months since my day of employment. Retroactive pay. So the first check with my raise should be quite large. And dear god do we need it now.
And here's why. Our rent for November (as we pay in advance of the month) was late. Is late. You get a 5 day grace period. Your check needs to be in by the 6th of the month to avoid a late fee. After the 5th late day they add 10% which in our case is another $97.50. And if you do not pay then, they submit your information to the county courthouse and you have to pay the legal fees.
Well Jenn checked our account and we needed only $12 to cover rent plus the nearly $100 late fee. I said that I'd be putting in my money and Chad's money at lunch tomorrow around noon...well before they'd cash a rent check, so I had her run a check down. Well she got down there and they told her that even though it's been only 4 days after the grace period they'd already given our information to the court. The legal fees come to (apparently) about $400 as we now owe over $1,300 for the month of November. Personally I feel that this is very fucked up (and you know it's true and I mean it passionately if I'm saying fuck over it) because now we have to pay an additional (approx.) 40% of our rent. There goes $400 of Christmas money. We thought that we'd have $300+ left in our account for next month's rent which would leave much more money for Christmas shopping. So they expect you to pay an additional $300-400 right now and still pay the regular $975 in three months for the next month. Complete bullshit. But here goes my entire paycheck for the week.
UNLESS... Unless I start getting my raise this past week and the retroactive payment. i will call right before I close this entry out and report on my findings..if I have any when I close it.
In other news. I need to take a different way home from my new store on Thursdays because the way that I took tonight is just horrendous. Although I should be going to practice each week after work so it wouldn't matter anyway...as long as we can get ourselves squeezed back into our old Thursday evening slot.
Well...here's my call to my bank's automated service. *drumrolls* **holds breath** Nope. No raise yet. No retroactive raise payment. Just the usual $370 for the week. Screwed for this week. I am going to go pass out now.

I'm Prepared for Suckiness
So this morning is my first day in the store that has newly been forced upon me. When I called my boss before I left my store yesterday she told me to be prepared...for the previous rep did nothing for so long...that there is a ton of work to do. So forget that I have to drive about 25 miles through some towns I'd prefer not to if at all possible...while it is raining...and that I already feel like hell-bait from being ill...and that I'll have so much do to today that I'll feel like I am sinking in all the work that has to be done.
But. My boss will be there. Hopefully it'll be more to help out than supervise but I am pretty sure that that will be the case. I know that she has a lot of confidence in my abilities and therefore this should end up being some kind of test today. And I know that she did a lot of work to help the one or two times that I needed her help in my store in my first 7.5 months with the company.
So we'll see what kind of mood I am in when i get home. Hopefully the day will just go by quickly due to all fhe constant work that I'll have to do. One can pray right?
But as a side note...i will be driving through the second largest mall in our country today. Well not through the mall itself..but the mall complex. If I actually go through it, watch the news tonight and you'll hear about it.
Here's to your day being much more fantastic than I am sure mine will be.
