Inconsequential Knowledge of Disaster & Catastrophe

Oh the things you can see from this side.

Well somehow my personal bank account supposedly was overdrawn which i can't believe happened because of how much was in there the morning before I got paid at midnight. And then my bank has the balls to charge $125 for an overdraft fee! Forgive me for my language but FUCK that and double FUCK them! I am going to get a new personal account at the bank where Jenn and I have our joint account. That will also make it more simple for me to transfer money between accounts and avoid the $2 ATM fees that I get taking money from my account out of their ATM from my current account. Plus this bank has a branch directly across the street from where I work. I am going to open an account there and then send in the information for direct deposit to go there and then close my current account. I know that this bank charges $30 (I believe for an overdraft) which is a HELL of a lot better than $125!

So it looks like we'll have to use money that shouldn't be used for rent just to make our rent. I feel so worthless...I don't know where that huge chunk of money went and the banks are closed until Monday so it will be a little while before I can look into it.

Well we have band practice today! Which is awesome! Can't wait to hear/feel my guitar go with the bass. John won't be able to make practice so it will be just Chad, Brian and myself. But it will still allow us to work on the music and work with Chad doing lead vocals and help us decide how we want to do backing vocals since that should change a bit because chad was doing 70% of the backing vocals. We will go with Chad atleast for now and see what happens down the road. I did hear back from a drummer but he is looking to do only two shows per month and while that would be sufficient for now, we are looking for someone who is more in the mindset that we are..of...ANYWHERE/ANYTIME. But we almost feel that we can't be that selective because he's only the second one we'd heard back from and the first one that got back to us ended up going with another band before we could audition him. I guess if we find no one else we could have him come in but we'd have to let him know that we might have to replace him if we start getting offered a ton more shows than he can do. We feel badly enough now about turning down any shows. Hopefully we'll work this shit out and be ready to prove to everyone (including ourselves) what we can really do. But we consider ourselves very blessed to be where we are right now. Case in point...

We have officially been booked for the Performance Stage (main stage) at Grape Street Philadelphia which is a big deal in our region! We've been wanting to play the main stage there for a long, long time and now...in less than a year of actually playing shows...we have our shot! We are going to promote this show as heavily as we can, get everyone there that we possibly can and perhaps get invited back on a "regular" night. But it will be the high of our lifetimes to this point haha I am praying that we'll be able to record it and put clips up. We definitely need the audio/visual keepsake that it would be. Oh yes..I want to SHOW you all.. the web-based proof! God are we psyched!!

Well I need to eat something, load the car and head down to the studio for practice. But I will be back afterwards and be around here. Have a great day!

I'd like to thank those of you who wished me any form of luck in getting through the day. It wasn't so bad. The worst part of getting to work was the sun. At the time of day that I leave and the direction in which I had to go meant that the sun was directly in my eyes the entire way. Thank god it wasn't raining. However some of the roads were still a little slick from the rain that occured overnight until a few hours before I left for work. I made it there in decent time. Before my boss got there.

Well we didn't only one section...bath fixtured which included two bays of toilet seat displays and stock (about 50-60 different displays in total), a special order bathroom set bay and 6 bays of toilets with 5 a piece. I had to carry 15 toilet bowls up a 12 foot ladder one at a time to put them in the overhead because they did not belong on the floor because they aren't displayed any longer. I had to fix all of the signs as well as remove all of the stock (a couple hundred) boxes of toilet tanks and bowls to restack them and move them to where they are supposed to be merchandised. Let's just say that each item is damned heavy. I was sweating so much all day and my muscles hurt like hell. And to make things even more thrilling...my head had to start pounding towards the end.

We technically still didn't get the section to 100% but that's because the previous rep did as very little work as he could get away with. And as it turns out..it was so bad that he couldn't get away with it. Well it does look a lot better. And Karen mentioned to her boss on the phone that she wishes that her division was made up of 4 more of me haha I sooo want/need/deserve a large raise!

Speaking of which...I am waiting up now to keep checking my bank account by phone because I get direct deposit and it is always available just after midnight on Friday morning. And I really want to know what I have before I go to sleep. Hopefully it will be an amount that will help me sleep. You see...my raise still hadn't gone through for the previous week that I was paid (which I didn't think that it would that soon) and I don't know what it is. Plus I am supposed to be paid that raise for every hour that they missed since the day that marked exactly 6th months since my day of employment. Retroactive pay. So the first check with my raise should be quite large. And dear god do we need it now.

And here's why. Our rent for November (as we pay in advance of the month) was late. Is late. You get a 5 day grace period. Your check needs to be in by the 6th of the month to avoid a late fee. After the 5th late day they add 10% which in our case is another $97.50. And if you do not pay then, they submit your information to the county courthouse and you have to pay the legal fees.

Well Jenn checked our account and we needed only $12 to cover rent plus the nearly $100 late fee. I said that I'd be putting in my money and Chad's money at lunch tomorrow around noon...well before they'd cash a rent check, so I had her run a check down. Well she got down there and they told her that even though it's been only 4 days after the grace period they'd already given our information to the court. The legal fees come to (apparently) about $400 as we now owe over $1,300 for the month of November. Personally I feel that this is very fucked up (and you know it's true and I mean it passionately if I'm saying fuck over it) because now we have to pay an additional (approx.) 40% of our rent. There goes $400 of Christmas money. We thought that we'd have $300+ left in our account for next month's rent which would leave much more money for Christmas shopping. So they expect you to pay an additional $300-400 right now and still pay the regular $975 in three months for the next month. Complete bullshit. But here goes my entire paycheck for the week.

UNLESS... Unless I start getting my raise this past week and the retroactive payment. i will call right before I close this entry out and report on my findings..if I have any when I close it.

In other news. I need to take a different way home from my new store on Thursdays because the way that I took tonight is just horrendous. Although I should be going to practice each week after work so it wouldn't matter anyway...as long as we can get ourselves squeezed back into our old Thursday evening slot.

Well...here's my call to my bank's automated service. *drumrolls* **holds breath** Nope. No raise yet. No retroactive raise payment. Just the usual $370 for the week. Screwed for this week. I am going to go pass out now.
