Happy Tree Friends - violence at its best Army Tank - waiting for its return Rock Paper Saddam - as the name suggests Weapons of Mass Destruction - self explanatory World Rally Championships | ~Tree Top Walk~ Saturday, May 7, 2005 First of all, would like to thank the members of the expedition team that have responded to my call to brave the jungle this morning namely Werner and Ah Fur. Haha, was supposed to meet at 830 in bishan but everyone turned out to be late, and living the nearest, i wasn't exactly on time either. Anyway, we managed to get the walk underway pretty soon and was treking through the paths and enjoying the sights and sounds. Saw monitor lizards, nice butterflies and strange plants. There were some really funny parts such as the incident with the bee and some other impersonation 'moments'. Anyway, the tree top walk was pretty alright.. the suspension bridge was quite steady haha, werner was pretty disappointed about how it was too safe. There were some volunteers from HSBC too, going around and pointing out the different kinds of wildlife to those on the bridge. However, the only downside for me was that the bridge seemed quite short, that by right it should be the highlight of the whole trip but couldn't really sustain it there. The walk back down was pretty unfriendly too, tons of steps along the way, probably not a place where u can bring ur grandparents who have trouble climbing stairs. Yup, guess that sums it up for the first of hopefully many more to come trips. Was thinking of organising a trip up to Bukit Timah Hill and perhaps with a picnic on top. Anyone interested? Comment! (3) | Recommend! sian Thursday, May 5, 2005 wow.. saw merrick's nick just now about 050505.. thought about it a few months back but somehow forgot about it until i saw her nick on msn. And the thing that struck me was the "once in a lifetime kind of day". And it really is true! haha.. next year it'll be 060606 (666 gasp the end of the world), but we'll probably wont live to see another 050505. But gee, come to think of it, we wont see any other same day again anymore, unlike that gophers day show. Kinda struck me suddenly when im writing this entry now that no matter whether its 050505 or just 040205, the same date wont happen again. kinda depressing hearing everyone going away for short romantic getaways recently.. and im kinda stuck here in singapore and lonely. .ok i did go to genting with my parents.. but wtf its parents and im like 20 this year already. crap im so pathetic. still going holiday with parents.. what's more.. other than studying, i really cant think of anything else im good for.. im like a nerd or something....AND.. its not like im the best in it either, if i were then i'd be like acing everything or acing everything in JC and didn't have to drop out.. kinda makes me remember this story in the bible about how this master gave his servants a few coins each and told them to do something to it till he gets back. The first guy invested it and got back more, the second kept the coins in fear of losing the money and getting scolded and just didn't do anything about it, which in the end he still got scolded because he didn't use it properly. Anyway, the moral of the story was about how we should use our talents given to us by God and etc.. and everytime when i remember that story, or parable if u call it, i always never fail to ask myself, what exactly is my talent? and so far, i havent been able to come out with an answer.. i mean studying isn't a talent.. anyway.. friends, if u can play basketball well, sing well whatever, use it.. because there are so many people out there like me that cant, or something Comment! (4) | Recommend! Hike!~ Wednesday, May 4, 2005 thinking of organising a mini hike to the treetop walk at the macritchie reservior this coming saturday. Wondering how many people would be interested in waking up early and get some fresh air and exercise. If response good, might think of expanding to other places like bukit timah the next week and maybe ubin cycling the week after. Comment!
