PIRATES TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!
Tuesday. 10.10.06 6:21 pm
AAAAAAHHHH!!!!!! I'm so excited.

lol The Shebang has a segment "Shebanging the World" where they want ppl to take pictures of themselves (with a shebang sign) so they can collect one from every country. I'm going to get my brother to take a pic of me outside the Opera house tomorrow arvo and send it in...to be from Australia! lol. Even the show is *in* australia... they still need one person from every one of the 193 (or something like that) countries in the world.

Also I have heard that David Hobson gets out quickly so hopefully I can see him at Stage Door.

PIRATES TOMORROW!

McGrath says 5-0
Sunday. 10.8.06 6:29 pm
Glenn McGrath has backed up his 2005 Ashes prediction by stating that Australia will beat England 5-0 in this year's forthcoming series.

The Australian speedster stunned English fans last year when he slammed England and said the Ashes would be retained with another Australian whitewash.

However, McGrath was silenced when his side succumbed to England 1-2 to surrender the prized urn.

"I reckon it will be 5-0 this time, as well," he told the Mail on Sunday.

"To say anything else would be negative. If we're going to win 2-1, or 3-2, which games are we going to lose?"

McGrath, who took a six-month break from representative cricket at the start of this year in order to care for his cancer-stricken wife, acknowledges he is glad to be back.

The Test star also believes England's lengthy injury list will make life easier for Australia this summer.

"England are not as strong as they were last year. But Australia are a lot stronger. And I'm fit, unlike last time," said McGrath.

"Put it this way, in the three Tests I played in last time, we drew two and won one."

"England are not the same team as they were. I'm disappointed in them."

Bathurst 1000
Sunday. 10.8.06 6:24 pm
congrats to Craig Lowndes for winning the Bathurst 1000.

RIP Mark Porter

"Gold Coast-based New Zealander Mark Porter, who died after a high-speed crash at the Bathurst 1000 meeting at Mt Panorama on Friday, was a talented driver who will be missed, Motorsport New Zealand (MNZ) said.

"He was a very talented driver, it's very sad and our sympathies are with his family," MNZ general manager Ross Armstrong told National Radio.

Porter, 31, died at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney on Sunday afternoon after suffering serious head and chest injuries in a 180 km/h crash with David Clark during a second tier V8 race at Bathurst."

Jenufa
Wednesday. 10.4.06 5:27 pm
Last night I went to see Jenufa at the Sydney Opera House.

It was good :)
I think in the past I have been too harsh in my judgement of previous concerts and operas and stuff. I still know that I REALLY DON'T LIKE LA TRAVIATA... But maybe I was too hard on Otello and Pearlfishers and stuff.

Anyway. The opera part of Jenufa wasn't that great. Janacek wasn't that tuneful in his composing :P It's not like a G&S where you're gonna come out singing the tunes.... it was kinda all over the place. But the orchestra music was pretty cool -- like Anton said.

WIERD: the program listed 8 horns (Anton, Saul, Vicky, Lisa, Michael, Heath and two others I've never seen before) but only 4 played. So I wonder if they do half a show each... or maybe they alternate shows...
Probably ~1/4 through Act II there was this really cool syncopated horn section THING that I liked.

I wonder if Janacek wrote Jenufa with a particular soprano in mind... because the part of Jenufa often had quite low stuff... so maybe she had a wide range.
there was quite a bit of chest voice and around the changeover.... with orchestra mf around the same pitch... So there was a bit of stuff you couldn't hear.

Elizabeth Whitehouse, the Kostelnicka (lol did I spell that right?, yes I did) was REALLY GOOD last night. lol For some reason she reminded me of Mrs Raven from My Hero. LULZ!

Richard Hickox is a bit of a knob. All conductors are pretty knobbish... But I don't like him because he doesn't like David Hobson's voice and hence doesn't put him in roles.
GUYS: writing him "angrygrams" or whatever isn't going to do anything.

THOUGH I REALLY DO WANT TO KNOW WHY DAVID ISN'T IN THE 50TH BIRTHDAY BENIFIT CONCERT. :( :( :( :( :(
...holy shit! $850!!!

I CAN'T REMEMBER THE ENGLISH GUY'S NAME. But he's playing in Handel's Julius Caesar..

ZOMGBBQ. So looking forward to Pirates next Thursday. WOO!!!!!

aaaanyway. Best be going

Quan = Old Mate

JB's Internet Joke
There's a blonde, a brunette and a red head and they're talking one day.

The red head goes, "the other day I found a packet of cigarettes in my daughter's draw. I can't believe she smokes!"

The brunette goes, "well I found a bottle of whiskey in my daughter's draw. I can't believe she drinks!"

Then the blonde goes, "I found a packet of condoms in my daughter's draw. I can't believe she has a penis!"

Bored
Wednesday. 9.27.06 9:56 pm
ergh. I'm bored.

Well. I have things to do, like calculus and algebra problems...learning chemistry...reading about the different companies will be visiting in Engineering Week...writing this comp program...

But I don't wanna do that! Argh. I hate work.

Anyone want to help me with the programming? lol.
Visual Basic is gay. I don't want to write a program about flow rates and calculating shit. GHEY.
I'm doing industrial chemistry BECAUSE I WANT TO PLAY WITH THE CHEMICALS.... I'm NOT doing chemical engineering because I DO NOT want to play around with the things that are going to be making my chemicals (or whatever).

dim answer as String

console.writeline("this program sucks")
answer = console.readline

Blah blah blah. Well I'm making pasta and mum decided to take the water off the stove. YES THAT WAS CLEVER WASN'T IT!?!?!? You know you can't actually cook pasta in cold water...

aaaanyway. Better get back to it.
