listening to: The Bravery - The Bravery


  For Christmas 2007, I received the following:

    • A Mary Kay cosmetic brush set from Mom & Dad. (Mom's a MK Beauty Consultant, so she gets stuff @ wholesale)
    • Pirates of the Caribbean 3 on DVD from my brother Isaac + $30. (the DVD was the lame 1-disc version, so I used the cash to buy myself the fancy-schmancy 2-disc "collector's edition")
    • Candles from my sis Natalie
    • Disc cleaning solution from my bro Donald (obviously from Game Stop - he somehow got everyone's presents from there... o_O)
    • Hobby Lobby gift card from bro Eric and sis-in-law Michelle (which I used to buy poster frames that were on sale last week. =D)

  So there, now I've told you.


  All of my school books have come in, and I'm materially ready for school! Classes start next Wednesday. I've never been to school before (until now, I've always been home schooled - always), so I'm excited for this something new. It's exhilarating. =D
  I had trouble finding my graphing calculator from high school, 'cause it was in my old school bag that I couldn't find anywhere. I finally found it in a box downstairs underneath a bunch of other boxes. eh.

  I started training for my new library clerk job this week. It's been kind of fun, getting to work behind the desk, discharging materials, etc. Most of the menial things I don't mind, I don't even mind standing for 3 hours at a time, but my left shoulder tends to cramp up a lot, though. Not sure why, exactly. This never happened before until after I came back from the Philippines - I think it was the $7.50 massages. ha
  I continue training through next week, and then continue to a normal schedule: Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings plus every other weekend (Sat & Sun). I won't like the every other weekend so much, but I'll be fine. What else am I going to do on those days, waste time on the computer? At least I'll be earning more $$$. All the more closer to *in the announcer voice for The Price Is Right* a ne-ew [to me] car!!! And/Or a new laptop!!!


  I've been wanting to get a laptop (mainly for school... mainly), but I'm not sure what to look for. For the past six or seven years I've been using a Mac. I wanted to get an Apple iBook (or whatever it is they're calling it these days), but they're just so expensive - I can't afford that any time soon... So I've been considering a Windows computer. I saw an add in the paper that some of the new Dell laptops come with Photoshop Elements 5.0 (I have 2.0, I think) so I've had that in my mind, though I'm not sure how good the new Dells are. I knew they weren't all that great a few years ago, but I don't know about now. Help in this area would be most appreciated. =)


  Now I've typed on long enough. It's 12:38 am on Saturday morning (it was about 12:18 when I started writing this...), so I shall go to bed now.

  Because it is the first day of the year, I figured I'd post a few goals I have for 2008.

•   Read more
•   Spend less
•   Actually buy music, if I want it, instead of ripping it off from someplace
•   Buy a car

  And that's all I could really think of. Well, at least the ones worth mentioning, anyhow.


  I told you I'd tell you what I got for Christmas. So here it is.

  I got a Mary Kay cosmetic brush set from my parents; POTC3 from my bro Isaac; a Hobby Lobby gift card from my brother and sister-in-law; and some candles from my li'l bro & sis.


  I was going to post about my job promotion, but I decided that I'd just write this teaser instead, and wait to tell you all about it in another entry.
