My thoughts - Anime Winter 2008 Sunday. 1.20.08 4:01 am First I should mention that this covers only the new series, not the new seasons, as I have not seen or completed the series that continue this month. 1. Shigofumi: After the 1 episode I was impatiently screening TokyoTosho for the 2 ep, witch I just saw. I do feel a bit disapointed, especially after seeing the next episode preview. But previews can be misleading, so I'll wait and see. The episode was great, don't get me wrong, the turnoff for me was the fact that I have already seen this kind of plot development. 2. Hatenkou Yuugi: shoujo and not quite. I liked the 1 ep, I really enjoyed and found it to be very funny. The next 2 were not up to the measure of the 1st one though. There were a bit of funny moments, but not enough. Have I really seen/read so many stories that it have become so hard to get interested in something? 3. True Tears: at first this was 3rd for the lack of better competition, but now it's a diferent thing. I really enjoy the sweetness of the story. 4. Persona: trinity soul and Ookami to Koushinryou: to close and to diferent to separate. The first one is based on a successful game and it has enough clichés to earn the "I'll watch the next ep and see" place. Some ppl were really into it, so maybe there is something more. It's not required to have played the game to understand the action, but it can help if you care about the characters past. The second one has the advantage of a medieval era, even if it's a fiction one. It's based on a successful book, later turned into a manga. The ppl who have read the book say that it has lost a lot of the flavour. A minus: nudity. The main female character appears for many minutes naked, and this was really not necessarily in the 2nd ep, plot wise. My opinion. 5. Kimi ga Aruji de Shitsuji ga Ore de: They are my noble Masters: it's on 5 for the big quantity of fanservice. I have laughed, and having watched some episodes of Hayate no Gotoku, I was able to understand some of the parodyes. 6. Rosario to Vampire and H2O: Footprints in the Sand: a new tie. On the + side: Rosario has a solid scenario, that can develop really well in action and comedy - the main character gets into a school for monsters and with him beeing the only human, dangers are everywere. But he has a beautiful vampire-friend, that makes him the envy of all the boys. H2O showes in the 2nd ep that it has potential. Romance, fantasy, school life. Careful - ep. 1 starts with some boys beating a girl. Skip if you want. On the - side: Too much underware. In Rosario fanservice is a character in all his rights - every shot it's a panty shot, like a blogger said. In H2O there are less panty shots, but those are so consistent that make up for the difference.. Both are harem, witch I'm not into, but everyone has it's tastes. Comment! (4) | Recommend! |
