The mountain house was a lot of fun.

We watched Steel Magnolias and Annie Hall (such girls), drank wine and vodka tonics, went sledding, cooked dinner, read fashion magazines and hiked around in the snow.

It was a lot of fun and very relaxing. It snowed all day on Saturday, which was the day we drove to town.

I don't get to see snow often, so it was a treat. I was true to my word (for once) and have pictures to share. They're in my gallery.

I'm actually exhausted now from eating a giant delicious dinner that Edward cooked. I'm going to take a shower and then watch some trash t.v. Or read. Maybe both.

*YAY*

Every week, my four friends and I have what we call "Gourmaybe." We all go to one person's house, and the host makes a main dish while everyone else brings a side dish and a bottle of wine.

I think I've mentioned it before in my blog.

One of my Gourmaybe friends has a house in The Highlands, in the north Georgia mountains. Since this weekend is an extended weekend, we've decided to stay there through Monday!

I could die of happiness.

I got everything worked out with my internship boss so I don't have to come in on Monday, and I can leave early on Friday. I've never been to the mountains in Georgia before, but I hear they're amazing and can't wait to go! And it's supposed to snow over the weekend. Prettyyyyyyy.

We'll be doing Gourmaybe while we're there, so the food will be great and wine will be flowing. And there will be hot tubbing, which is so much fun to do when it's cold.

Yay, I haven't had a real vacation with just girls since... 2005? And that ended up sucking because I didn't like one of the girls. And there were only three of us, so I'm sure you can imagine how that worked out.

It also involved me having to sleep on a hotel room floor and losing a $200 deposit that I never got paid back for. So...

This should be quite an improvement. I'm taking my camera so be prepared for some pictures, yay!

p.s.

I'm really sad to hear about Brad Renfro's death. I crushed on him severely in middle and high school, and always hoped he'd get past his drug issues. I'm going to rent The Client and Ghost World tomorrow and have a remembrance day.

*happy belated new year*

It's been a very long time since I've posted.

School got super busy in November and December, and then my internet went out. Then we fixed it. But it went out again a few days later.

Sorry it's taken me so long to get back! We finally got it fixed for good yesterday (hopefully).

I've started an internship at a radio station called Tiger Communication. I get to do bitchwork and sometimes talk on the radio. Yay.

I'm in my VERY LAST CLASS FOR EVER AND EVER. I'll graduate in May. Commencement on the 10th. So exciting.

I bought my first suit yesterday. Black pants, black jacket, just your basic stuff.

I had a terrible New Years Eve thanks to myself (nothing new) and ended up busting my lip open. I deserved it, that's how karma works.

Now I'm just trying to get through this last semester so I can move away and get a job and my own place and car. Only four more months, that's insane!

Can't wait.

*So I wasn't Jill Valentine*
Sunday, November 4, 2007
Jill Valentine was a no go. I was Marie Antoinette instead because the costume was free.

My sister Danni was Snake Plissken (from Escape From New York) and Daniel was... an alligator man?

I only went out on Friday. On Saturday I met a friend at a bar and had a bloody mary and too many beers and fell asleep at 9. Happy Hallowiener!

On Halloween day I had two trick-or-treaters. They're sisters that live down the street. One was a graduate and the other was dressed as a bride. When their dad told them to tell me what their costumes were the bride said, "I am dressed as a wedding dress." And it was the cutest thing I've ever heard.

Earlier today I researched average annual salaries for PR practitioners with little experience. The average pay range is $36,000-45,000.

I also looked at apartments in Richmond (shhh, don't tell anyone). I think I'll actually be able to make it on my own when I move. Living expenses aren't too horrible. I'm excited. I'll be on my own, make my own money, have my own apartment, OWN A CAR (insurance, ugh), get a kitty! Finally, there's a light at the end of the tunnel.

Now, if I could just get a damn internship, I'll be completely and totally on track.

Also...

1. Edward is out of town and it's really weird because I haven't slept alone since... well since he got back from Europe. I hope I'm never single again.
2. I got a haircut, you can see it in my new profile picture.

*so tired*
Tuesday, October 23, 2007
Halloween is next week. Really, it starts this weekend because that's when all the costume parties will be. I'm supposed to be Jill Valentine, and I have the hair, the boots, the beret and the shirt, but still no pants, patches or shoulder pads and straps.

I may just go generic and buy a costume this year. I'm too tired to come up with stuff. And anyway... Edward was supposed to get me the damn patches, so that's not on me.

I'm registered for my final class. Next semester, 9:30-10:45 on Tuesdays and Thursdays, I'll have PR campaigns. And if I can ever find a godforsaken internship, I'll be doing that 20 hours a week. I desperately need to find one. DESPERATELY. I e-mailed the museum here, hopefully they have something. Or can at least help me.

I had an interview for a job that would have counted as an internship, but obviously didn't get it since they haven't called me and the interview was a week ago. It was a terrible interview too. They asked me:

1. Three words to describe my work ethic.
2. What can I bring to their organization?
3. something else that was hard that I can't remember now, plus other questions that weren't as hard, but I still couldn't give decent answers to.

I'm not surprised I didn't get called back. Not only was I horrible at answering their questions, but it's a paid internship so a million other (more qualified) people interviewed for it. Stiff competition, I can't handle that.

Yeah. I'm going to bed now, I'm exhausted.

Yay, after December I'll never have to take 15 hours of school ever, ever again!

*I had grease put in my hair*
Sunday, October 7, 2007
You see this?

Once it's in your hair, it's almost impossible to get out. And somehow, my friend T. Lee got a hold of a can of it and stuck a big old glob in my hair on Friday night. Right. on top. of my head.

Naturally I went home and shampooed and conditioned a whole lot. You know what that did?

Spread it around.

I apparently had a lapse on Saturday morning and didn't google "hair wax removal methods" like I should have. But today... oh today.

Today I washed my hair with Ajax dish soap. Yes it worked and yes my hair is very dry. Better dry than wax filled. Yesterday I wore a hat to cover the mess my hair had become and Edward made fun of me.

Oh well. Moving on.

I think I did excellent on all of my mid-terms, and I think my new feature story is really good. I hope.

Want to hear something weird, though?

On Thursday night at around 9:30 I went to pick my sister up from a play (which I saw the next night, it was really good!). On my way there I noticed a silver Mustang (I think we all remember how I feel about Mustangs and Mustang drivers...). I noticed it because it something in it scared the shit out of me. Some person with an all white mask on was peering out of the passenger seat window at me. And it was creepy. The Mustang slowed down and I ended up driving alongside it, and then I noticed that all four passengers had creepy white masks on. With black hoods. And so I looked at them, and I shook my finger at them and I said, "Hey, you scared me!" Because they did. And then they took my picture.

And that scared me a whole, whole lot.

Luckily I turned right, but only after they got right behind me and scared me even more.

What a world.
