Intro to 2007!

Happy belated New Year! So we're a few days into it and I'm just posting now...but I haven't been at the computer for more than 10 minutes up until I did a little writing last night (willelaborate upon in a minute) but even that was all I did. I was going to write this last night if I finished what I was writing but I got to the point where I was going to fall asleep in my computer chair so the writing and this entry had to wait until this morning.

I went to the doctor's after I dropped Jenn off at work on Tuesday. Well actually I came home, rested my leg and kept the hot pack on it for about an hour until it was time to go to the doctor's office. I wore shorts so that he could easily see my ankle without me having to keep a pantleg pulled up the entire time. I had to sit in the waiting room for over an hour. Made it through two entire copies Sports Illustrated which is alright since I used to have a subscription and had gotten used to reading them. Now who has the money? I do not, currently. But finally my name was called.

The nurse took me back first again. She did the usual vitals and asked me about what had brought me there. She said that she loved my Eagles Jersey/sweatshirt (which is what I am calling it because I am not sure what the hell else to call it..aside from AWESOME!). She said that I must have gotten myself a little excited because my blood pressure was a little high but then she also attributed that to the fact that I had been sick. She told me to remove the left shoe and sock so the doctor can see everything better and then informed me that I was the next patient to be seen by the doctor when he had finished with his current one and then made her way out the door.

last time I was there Jenn had been in the room with me and the wait was longer. Not too long after my shoe and sock were off he came into my room, took the chart out of the folder holder on the outside of the door, shut the door and we began. He asked me when the last time was that he saw me for it. I said that it was mid-August (because it was a few days after we went to the preseason Eagles game I was able to remember). He asked me if I had noticed any bites or scratches in the area before this appeared. I told him that just like last time I hadn't noticed any. He asked me how the whole illness began and when. I told him that I started by feeling extreme flu symptoms late Saturday night...about an hour and a half before I was going to go to bed. The symptoms just got worse and worse and I ended up taking some PM pain reliever to fall asleep.

He checked vitals (apparently my blood pressure had dropped some because he told me that my BP was good!) and then looked everything over thoroughly. Essentially..I have the very same thing I had last time (cellulitis) in the same exact spot and suffered the very same illness beforehand. He did prescribe the same antibiotic for me and told me to continue with the leg elevation and moist heat compresses that I've been using, like I used last time. And when I have insurance again he wants me to go in for a gamut of tests including a lot of blood work and a doppler test as he says that my arteries seem fine but he needs that test to check the veins. Obviously he, as well as myself, want to learn what is actually causing the cellulitis since it occurred in exactly the same spot as last time.

So last night I was working on typing up a very, very short screenplay for a very, very short film that I want to film. I have nearly everything needed for it except that I need a computer with way more RAM than mine and Jenn's has to actually allow for editing of the video (same reason why my band's videos haven't made it online yet). We have to get my car inspected and registered by the end of next month. I am hoping that I can take it in the first weekend of February and it won't cost too much to get it to pass inspection so that we can get it taken care of early in the month and then make rent at the end of the month. Then the first paycheck of the next month I'd like to buy another PC. I won't care about too many of the specs of the new one except that a higher CPU speed and A LOT more RAM would be very, very helpful. I won't care about another monitor or anything extra. This RAM'ed up computer would then allow me to start test filming and allow me to practice editing and making my material look as cinematic as I possibly can with my equipment. I am very excited!

And in the short longrun I am hoping that I can go into business with Jenn doing the videography at the weddings that she is the Photographer for. The extra money would be awesome and it should be fun work. And who knows what it would lead to film wise. Not that I have great aspirations of becoming any kind of a director...but I'd love to just make whatever does come to my head become more of a reality for other people to see.

Okay. That's it for now. But I'll be back...much sooner than I have in the very recent future. Thanks for hanging in there.

Christmas Update
Sunday, December 31, 2006
Been busy and kinda ill the past week so I didn't post so now it's time for my belated Christmas update! Going to my family's on Christmas Eve was great. We had my Uncle's Swedish Meatballs that I was hoping that he'd make and a bunch of other yummy stuff and we discussed all sorts of various things.

We opened up the presents from Jenn's family on Christas Eve which was neat! I got a handsome sweater which I ended up wearing to Christmas. And Jenn's Dad's mom got me for Secret Santa and she bought me an official sideline Eagles shirt (which I am wearing for the first time now to watch the game which starts in an hour) and a thick, comfortable pair of NFL socks which I am also wearing for the first time now.

Then I put out my presents while Jenn took her nightly shots. Then I went into the bedroom and put on A Christmas Story while she put her presents out. I slept pretty well I think hah And I woke up at the time I wanted to. Chad was making breakfast and my mom called about the time that they said she would but they still got here a little late. Here's a run down on most of what I got:

Dean Koontz's new book The Husband (he has put out a new book since this one but I wanted to read this one first), a Phillies jewelry box to put my necklaces in since I have a tendency to misplace them...and it's worked like a charm (no pun intended!) thusfar!, an awesome Eagles sweatshirt that has jersey type material on the outside, a Phillies casual jersey, a Diesel watch (which I love!), an Eagles wireless PS2 controller (which I also love!), a new Eagles microfiber throw blanket (Jenn bought me one last year but this microfiber is so much more comfortable and she saw it last year after she'd already bought me that one last year), a very adorable, large white Winnie the Pooh with a blue shirt and blue eyes (soooo cute!), the Command and Conquer: Generals PC game that I wanted and a couple things I will be returning for something else. I also received a few gift cards which we'll do something with soon!

Then we went to my other Aunt and Uncle's where we had snacks and dinner. I didn't think that I'd get to watch the Eagles game but my cousin Cristy (who I didn't know was an Eagles fan) brought her boyfriend's handheld television. Sure it was tiny and couldn't see a ton of detail but I got to watch the game to a degree and watched my team make me ever so proud as they crushed the Cowboys 23-7.

So now we're having a New Years Eve get together. My mom, Rob and his friend Kevin who is staying with them will be coming to watch the final Eagles game of the regular season today. The Cowboys are currently losing to the 2-13 Detroit Lions haha If the Cowboys lose, we automatically take the Division crown no matter what happens in our game. If the Cowboys win and we win, we still take the Division crown. The Cowboys have to win and the Eagles have to lose for the Cowboys to take the Division but they are playing miserably right now! So I am looking for a super exciting game today no matter what!

And then Lauren is bringing Jenn home around 7:30 and Kevin will be leaving. We'll order some pizzas along with the tons of Doritos, alcohol and meat/cheeses Chad just bought. So we can all celebrate the New Year together.

I was very sick last night and this morning but I'll get into that in the next post but I think that I'll be okay for tonight. I hope that you have a great New Years, however you celebrate!
