I woke up this morning after a rather tumultuous night of half sleeping. I tend to grumble and poke at Chris when I sleep like this, because there's always a way he COULDVE woke me up....but how do I know he doesn't always sleep like this, and I'm just witnessing it then because I'm awake to do so? Anywho, so I woke up vaguely aware that my blood sugar was low, but not really in the mood to do anything about it. I woke Chris up (because he'd asked me to! I'm not that mean!), and told him I was considering calling out because my migraine hadn't dissipated in my sleep as I'd planned, and if I didn't get rid of it today I'd be taking it to work next week. We relaxed for a few minutes, somewhat reluctant to get out of bed. We don't get to do that very often, just lie together, so I wasn't gonna make it stop yet. Eventually the blood sugar issue had to be addressed, so he got me some OJ and I polished off the carton before my phone rang. Oddly enough, it was work calling me out. Heh. I guess it was an on-call shift and I didn't realize it, but I was told I wouldn't be needed and to enjoy my day off! Ahh, sweet serendipity. SO, I didn't have to be penalized for calling out, and I still get a day off to relax and figure out how I'm going to buy film for tomorrow. My head still hurts a bit, but the other migraine symptoms are easing up, so I may be working into a blinding headache instead, which I can handle. I'm trying to figure out how to make some extra cash, which probably involves selling some stuff. I'm adding a "framed pieces for sale" section to my website soon, too.

Anywho, we've got frozen waffles and not that I'm no longer nauseated....I'm starving! Have a good Saturday all!

in other news...i lack money for film for sunday...here's hopin it comes from somewhere, or this could be a very inconclusive shoot...got my lights today on borrowed money, but who knows...meh.

so my free weekend turned into my busy weekend...
not quitting means i still have to work a few hours saturday this weekend and next. oh well.
i wasnt aware of a mandatory store meeting sunday night (after the buses stop, which means chris gets to pick me up...sorry hunny) so i have to possibly cut my shoot short to go to some meeting so i can learn to sell makeup. greeeeeeat.

im still really excited about this shoot. ive been striving lately to get more versatility with the models i work with, taking the plunge, and asking models i never thought would work with me to do just that. to my amazement, a couple of them loved my work! i guess you just never know. i talked to her on the phone last night to discuss details, and she seems really nice, so i think it should be a pretty easygoing day. we can watch the eagles game (and hopefully at least see some highlights from the steelers game), take it easy, and make some great images.

that being said....w2 time. it's payday!!!

So I wussed out and didn't quit....my manager was willing to compromise, so I managed to get her to give me 2 days a week, with set hours. I can deal with that, and still do one day at the zoo, leaving me always at least one day off a week. There's no way I could do 2 days at the zoo, and I might as well keep that 10 hours extra at the mall. So, there you have it...I technically have 3 jobs now...but they seem a lot more managable. :)

Other than that, I found some really neat stuff for by godson's birthday. I'm trying my hardest to make it out to see him next month. Ah miss mah babeh! It's really hard to believe he's going to be a year old in less than a month! It's even harder to believe it's been almost a year since everything else. Seriously. I also found some neat stuff for the halloween shoot! Now all I need is some cash. Hah. Payday tomorrow! Shoot Sunday! Gonna be a bus bee!

Chris and I have a year and a half yr old shiba inu named Mowgli. He's rather...um...hyper, like most puppies. Today he decided that instead of going potty, so I could come inside and get some work done, that he really needed to eat this big, ugly bug buzzing around his furry little head. He does this a lot...but this time he CAUGHT it! It took him about 3 second (I saw them tick away in his little puppy brain) to realize it tasted like shit and go nuts. He jumped around for a few minutes, then got as close as he could to the grass and started licking it. It's probably the most stupid thing I've ever seen him do! Hah!

That being said, I got my job at the zoo! I worked there over the summer teaching 8-9 yr olds in 3 week sessions of summer camp. We taugh about world cultures, folklore, and how people co-exist with the animals around them. The kids had a mixture of regular classroom learning, in class animals, and zoo activities. They also learned a lot about how we keep our animals happy and healthy. It was a really inspiring experience, and I was sad to leave when summer was over. One of my supervisors asked me a few weeks ago if I'd consider returning for school season teaching, meaning home-school classes and field trips. It'll be different since I'll have a different class every 45 minutes, but I can't wait to get started! This is as close as I'll ever get to teaching without a degree, and I can't imagine a better environment in which to do it. It also means a slight paycut, but I'm quitting my less-paying retail job at Uber-expensive Underwear Co.. I'm not an annoying salesperson...especially for no commission. hah. I'll stay on at the portrait studio and work a day or 2 a week at the zoo. :) Excited!

So that's about it I think... My spirits have greatly improved since this morning.
