Happy Tree Friends - violence at its best Army Tank - waiting for its return Rock Paper Saddam - as the name suggests Weapons of Mass Destruction - self explanatory World Rally Championships | back Saturday, October 8, 2005 wow.. finally back home again.. felt pretty long but things passed pretty quickly inside. everyday is just another mad rush to the next. so far already been through quite an amount of lectures, got my section lost in the jungle at night, cheong up hills, put in the gas chamber with tear gas, jumped 5m into the swimming pool in the early morning, carrying section mates in stretchers, fbo walking around safti and making presentation afterwards, weapons training, some theory tests, runs, initiation ceremony, commanders parade and also witnessed a commissioning parade for the senior batch. and almost went into the air force also.. but think got rejected..sigh.. got home today and suddenly my computer stopped working.. didn't even want to turn on at all... panicked, sent it to the nearby repair shop and surprise surprise.. i had to replace my processor and motherboard and get another casing to fit everything.. which then set me back a hefty 375.. double sigh.. at least my com is working now.. although it still has minor glitches.think that's all i'll update for now, kinda tired, today has been a mad rush too, but worth it i guess.. bookouts are so uncertain these days, can get confined for the simplest things, so must treat every bookout i have as the last i might have in a while. toodaloo Comment! (2) | Recommend! hmm Tuesday, September 13, 2005 got this from bible.com guess its good to read the bible sometimes... 1 Corinthains 13:1 If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing. 4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. 12 Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. 13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. Comment! (0) | Recommend! Tissue Tissue Everywhere Tuesday, September 13, 2005 You're on your way home, you're on your way out, you're walking around town, shopping, drifting aimlessly, whatever. If you think getting hounded by people handing out flyers and soliciting for donations in cute metal cans are bad enough, here comes the tissue gang. Taking a cue from the flyers and tin can gang, they stand at every conceivable location that seems remotely strategic to them. Bus stops, entrances of MRT stations, bus interchanges, outside entrances of shopping malls, corners of buildings where you just have to pass by, these people have done their research. Now, let me make this clear that i have nothing against the tissue gang, and they are probably by far much better in my opinion compared to the flyer and tin can gang. But the problem is: just how many packets of tissue can one buy?!?! There's this auntie at sitting outside the MRT station that i usually patronise when i was schooling. She walks with a limp so it probably made me more willing to part with my money. On the other hand, there's also this old auntie that looks pretty old and still having to sell tissues, i can't be biased can i? What's more, in the evenings when i return, there's also another auntie that stands at the corner of the bus interchange till the wee hours. And there i am, still having at least 3 packets of tissue unused in my bag from the morning. Taking a look at my desk, i think i already have like enough tissue to last me a month which is really kind of wasteful too since most eating places provide their serviettes and napkins for their patrons. Why can't these restaurants and cafes give those tissue packets purchased from those aunties/uncles on the streets to their patrons instead? Then again, what's with tissues?! Everyone's selling tissues so much so that we could all save it up, shred it and use it as mock christmas snow. I'd wish they'd sell sweets instead, at least they can con rich primary school kids, not with tissue they can't. Comment! It felt quite surreal for all of us knowing that it might be the last time that we see each other and was also the last time that we did all the things that we normally do such as going for meals and stuff. Time really flies sometimes, even when you're not having that much fun. But i guess having friends, good friends inside really makes it much easier for me whenever i book in.... won an award but not sure whether i should feel proud of achieving it because maybe deep down i feel i wasn't that good enough to get it when there are much better people in the platoon. all i can say is that sit test is perhaps more biased towards those that have a stronger disposition towards structures and knotting. anyway, what's done is done. was quite a funny day. the prime minister came to officiate the event and intially none of my parents were coming for my parade but upon hearing the news, my mom took leave immediately and brought my grandma along. My grandma was so excited meeting the prime minister that even i felt kinda embarassed lol! My mom and I later concluded that it was my grandma that was the happiest today because she finally got to take a photo with the pm, which was what she had been trying to do for the whole day until she got the chance after the ceremony at the refreshments area. And i guess it was kinda fun holding the yellow ticket because we didn't have to wait in line to get back to mainland, which would have been pretty time consuming because of the sheer amount of people there!! Which would have resulted in a extremely long jam just to get out of the changi village area as well. Well, now that my bmt is over, feeling a little nervous for what lies ahead, just crossing my fingers for a good posting, hope i get air force somehow lol.. or perhaps join shuyi in autotec. as for now, i am going to enjoy my block leave yea!!!! ps: special thanks to willy too who came all the way down from sch 1 to see me kekeke Comment!
