Inconsequential Knowledge of Disaster & Catastrophe

Semi-Super Monday
Monday, February 5, 2007
So even Jesus was incorrect about the Super Bowl (as Jenn also pointed out). Going through blogmad one is guaranteed to come across a few blogs which apparently God himself has endowed with some super-spiritual view into everything that is. The past few weeks the blogs declared that they knew whichever team won a playoff game was destined to win. Doesn't God have too much on his hands to be worried so conserned about NFL games? Just the prayers coming from soldiers in Iraq should guarantee that he has no time for such trifling thoughts. But maybe with the Super Bowl over he'll answer some of their prayers and bring the soldiers home, eh? But let's move along.

My computer froze yesterday and I had to manually shut it down (aka: remove the power cord from the back) and then despite my many, many attemps it wouldn't boot back up. It gave me a little trouble today but then, obviously, I got it to kick on. And here we go.

I called work yesterday thinking I'd work yesterday afternoon to find out that I am off until tomorrow (Tuesday 2pm). So I guess they are still "training" me before firing anyone that I am replacing. But that is most likely due to the fact that they are going to use me on the food side and not just the cashier/lottery/coffee/ gas pump side. I'll find out on Tuesday how many days they have me schedule for this week but it may be only two again in the name of training and then I'll take over my full-time hours. We'll see. But it's good to make some amount of money anyway.

Well I am going to take care of some stuff. Atleast I finally wrote a little something in an entry that wasn't totally me-centric and I hope to further that in later entries. After all..I bore myself hah

Well have a great day. Great start to your week. And I'll catch ya.

Saturday. 2.3.07 12:55 pm
watching: Senseless
listening to: Moby Ft. Gwen Stefani - Southside

Today started out pretty well. I made breakfast. For me I made a veggie/ham omelet and for Jenn I made a sausage and ham omelet. First I chopped up my onions and green peppers than added in the pre-sliced uncoooked mushrooms. I sauteed them in some light vegetable oil. While that was going I cooked the brown sugar molasses ham steak in the pan as per the directions. I prepared a dozen eggs for both omelets with some 2% milk to make the omelets a little fluffier.

Next I added half of the egg solution to the pan with a light amount of butter to keep it from sticking followed by the vegetables and the part of the ham that I diced for my omelet. While my omelet cooked I put 10 sausage links into the microwave to cook. I diced more of the ham and sliced up 3 of the sausage links and added them to her omelet after mine was finished. While her's cooked I cut the remaining ham in half and put a half on each of our plates and gave her 2 of the remaining links and gave myself the four that were left.

I must say...I know mine was absolutely delicious! I tried doing the vegetables like that for an omelet once before but I messed it up. I made them perfectly this time!

And on we go...

I received an E-mail from the drummer of the band we were planning on joining. We were going to have etheracide as a side project and go onto this band full-time. Well we had worked out a practice schedule last week. Well the e-mail stated that they'd just started getting an unpredictable amount of replies from posts that they'd made. So over the next couple weeks they want to audition as many as they can. I mean...we understand. We'd rather be positive now that we all belong in a band together and that there aren't better overall musicians..well ones that bring the right ingredients to the fold right now rather than get it going now and find out in 6 months or so that they have another musician or two in mind. He stated that they were keeping the door open to us if we still chose to join and if they don't find anyone that they like better then we'll go on like we were planning to. And honestly I'd like for us to join them as they have a free place to practice, a studio to record in for free whenever we have new material to record and frankly..the music just feels right.

I would be debating going to their event tonight but we have to go to put my cab, amp head and Chad's keyboard in my car because they take up too much room on the stage with the bands that will be playing there tonight. But now I definitely want to get our stuff just in case they don't have us back. Atleast we'll have our gear. But Brian should be there so atleast we're hanging out as a band and doing some more bonding. It just sucks because I know that they'll put on the kind of show that I want to be putting on and then we'll see it firsthand and want to be playing with them and we may not.

But as far as we're conserned... we're going to practice each Saturday until they let us know what their decision is so that atleast we're getting some work done and I want to work on infusing some elements that playing with them let come out in our playing. I'll be posting in the usual places about drummers and see if we can score some auditions just in case they end up going with someone else. I told them that as far as we go, we're pretty much 100% committed to creating a band with them if they decide to go that way and if we had auditioned anyone before then, we'd just let them know that we wouldn't need their services or something to that effect.

So I'm not 100% thrilled to head down there tonight. Would have been more awesome if we knew that their event on March 3rd (the first Saturday of each month) was going to be our first show as a full band with those two. But hopefully it'll still be enjoyable.

But this has got me working in overdrive on our band's new site/layout/design. So many new features and a possibly more slick design.

Not sure when I work again. Probably try calling before we leave tonight so I have some headsup. I think I may work the 2-10pm shift tomorrow. But I'd like to know for certain of course. Not sure if it will be on the cashier/customer service side or the food side (although I still ring up the overflow of customers if I am not making some food at the time). The food side seemed to be pretty cool. It's definitely nice to have something different on some nights here and there. My previous job was the same damned thing every day which added to my great displeasure there. I guess the downside of the food side (and it's not bad really) is doing the dishes. Handwashing all of the pizza pans that you used throughout your shift. That alone takes about an hour and a half. But still not bad,

My stomach hurts and I'm going to go find something different for it. I will try to post tonight and since I got this morning's stuff out of the way, I very well may start writing about the non-personal life stuff that I'd been wanting to write but haven't for fear that my entries were already far too long. I'll catch you soooon.
