College Life
Tuesday, September 22, 2009
Well, tonight is my third night in college. So far, it hasn't been too exciting. My classes don't start until Thursday and my first class is at 4:40pm. I haven't been hanging out with my suite mates much although they've been hanging out together. I've only been hanging out with my boyfriend and two of our friends. I feel bad, though. One of the great things about going to college is supposed to be the fact that you get to expand your network a lot, but I haven't done that at all. Better start changing that but it's hard. We shall see. I have an elementary school friend that goes here as well but I haven't visited her yet. And I know three people from high school that I were around a bit but I haven't seen them either.

My room mate sleeps so early even though she and our suite mates went to a party and didn't come back til like 1:30. She didn't even shower, which to me is extremely gross but I've found that a lot of people don't think the same way as me. But then again, I'm sort of a germaphobe.

So while they were gone, my boyfriend came over and we watch Fast and Furious of cable. Haha. We have a small tv in the living space of our suite but it's better than nothing.

So far, I've just been biking around and getting extremely tanned by the sun. Grr... It's really hot during most of the day and then you get all hot and sticky even when you're biking. Yup, college life before classes start is pretty boring to me. There was a block party but pretty boring. And the rally last night was extremely boring and pretty much a waste of my time.

Last Day
Saturday, September 19, 2009
Well, today is my last at home before I move in to college. As it gets later and later into the day, I have been getting more anxious about what college may hold for me. I don't remember being this anxious about starting high school, but maybe I was. I'm so glad that I am going to the same college as my boyfriend as well as two of our friends because it makes it less intimidating. Plus, I have been talking to my suitemates on Facebook and they seem alright. I have been mostly packed since last weekend, but I still need my clothes, shoes, and some other random stuff.

Today, I'm going out with my mom and my brother to buy some snacks and last minute things that I had forgotten before. Then we have to go to this dinner for the 10 year anniversary of my cousin's dental office. I still need to catch up on Naruto soon as well. Lol. I'm on episode 112 right now and there are 126 episodes out. I still need to finish watching Roman Holiday as well. Darn, so much to do but I guess those things aren't extremely important. My dad wanted me to watch Somewhere In Time and write a report on it but I never did. Haha. I didn't look like that appealing a movie to write a report on anyways.

Tomorrow is my move-in date. I want to go early so that I can have a lot of time to unpack everything before I invite other people to come see my room. In the afternoon, my cousin that went to UCD is going to come with his wife and daughter. He saids that he's going to show me around campus along with the fastest ways to get to my classes.

As for the Fenton's ice cream challenge, they weren't able to do it because they needed a coupon from Berkeley's newspaper. So now Tiffany (my best friend and my boyfriend's friend's girlfriend) is going to start saving up the Berkeley newspapers because she attends UCB for the next time that the guys want to attempt the challenge.

Food Challenges
Monday. 9.7.09 3:57 am
So what does everyone think about food challenges? My boyfriend loves doing them. Near the end of June, him and his best friend had a nugget eating contest to see who could eat the most nuggets. He won, but not by much. They both ate like 50 something nuggets and felt so sick afterwords. Then on August 20th, we went to Pho Garden in Richmond, SF and he took their Pho challenge. He had to eat 2 lbs of noodle (weighed uncooked) and 2 lbs of meet in an hour. He was pretty close but he ran out of time. He felt even worst than after the chicken nuggets. A week later, we went to Buffalo Wild Wings where he took their challenge which was to eat 12 of their spiciest wings in 6 minutes. If you finished in 2, you go the wings for free. He did it in 5:25, which I guess is pretty slow compared to other people's times but he still did well. And now tomorrow, we are going to Fenton's in Oakland with a bunch of friends where they want to do the ice cream challenge. It's like three HUGE scoops of ice cream along which whip cream, hot fudge, a banana, and a cherry. Just thinking about it makes me want to barf.

Now don't get me wrong, I support my boyfriend in everything he does and I definitely believe that he can do it. It's just that it makes me very worried for him. I mean, granted, he doesn't eat extremely healthy but not too bad. It was worst during the school year because he had fast food for lunch every day... (But he decided to quit near the end of the year and I was very proud of him) It's just that, all this extreme eating in such a short amount of time is definitely not good. It sucks how he's still so skinny though. He's skinnier than one of my practically anorexic friends. So jealous... But that's really off topic.

Have you guys ever done any food challenges or contests?

Continuation of Last Entry
Thursday. 9.3.09 12:47 am
It's already September. I have 17.5 more days until I move into college. So the topics I said that I would talk about.

Hong Kong Trip: Uhh... So one night, I was extremely stupid and asked if my boyfriend could sleep over because we had both woken up really late and we weren't going to sleep anyways. My dad got extremely mad and at first, he said that I wasn't allowed to go out with him anymore. And then my mom convinced him to let me continue seeing him if I agreed to come home by 10pm. So after awhile, my boyfriend's dad's birthday came up. I didn't come home til like 11:30pm and I got in heck of trouble. My punishment? I was sent to Hong Kong with my mom and my brother because my dad were going to be at work too much to make sure that I wasn't behaving badly. So in HK, it was horribly humid. I hated going outside. It wasn't really the heat that much because if it was dry heat, it wouldn't be that bad. But I had humidity and there wasn't a single day that I was looking forward to going out besides when we were going to go the airport. Did a lot of shopping but didn't end up getting that much stuff. Gone for like 20 something days. Not much else to say about it I guess. My boyfriend and I talked long distance on the phone almost everyday. *shrugs* I hated not being able to see him but I guess at least I was still allowed to go out with him. Really, it didn't really matter that much if we weren't allowed to go out because we were going to the same college anyways and it's not like my parents can control what I do there.

Wisdom Teeth Removal: I got all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed on August 10th. I was awake through the whole thing and it was horrible. They had trouble with both the bottom teeth. The right one was the worst and they spent a lot time with it. I could feel a lot of pressure and sometimes a sharp pain for the right bottom one. My face was really swollen afterwords. Luckily, my boyfriend's orientation was 9th-11th so he didn't see me when my face was extremely swollen. I couple of friends saw me and they said it wasn't bad compared to other people that they've seen but I thought it was horrible. I guess my jaw is sort of already square-ish so the swelling made me look horrible. When my boyfriend came over back from orientation, he came over everyday until I was allowed to go out again.

18th B-day Party: It was awesome. Originally, I was going to have a three day and two night party. It was going to be Friday night to Sunday morning but since a lot of people couldn't make it until Saturday, we just used Saturday to prepare some more. My best friend and our boyfriends helped out. We had an Iron Chef competition in teams and our secret ingredient was shrimp. It was awesome and pretty funny. part 1 ask me for part two if you want to watch it. Besides that, we had other competitions with pretty nice prizes. For Iron Chef, we had a microwave and an ice cream maker (this was really nice, you didn't need rock salt or ice) for first place, really cute monkey and octopus cookie jars for second, cute cupcake cookbooks for third, and chocolate bars for fourth. For our Cooking Mama (Wii) competition, first prize got a popcorn machine which I ended up winning and giving to my boyfriend. (We were the finalists and I ended up kicking his butt. Hehe) For Brawl, it was $25 giftcard to GameStop and for poker, it was a small poker set that looked pretty cute. Yup. We watched Zack and Miri as well as Push, had bbq, and basically just hung around.
Edit: I forgot to mention but after the party, I sent out these really cute thank you cards along with a wallet-sized version of our group picture. They took so long for me to write in but it was definately worth it because it helps makes my party that much more memorable.

This Summer: Well, besides HK and my birthday, I haven't really done much. I was at my boyfriend's house almost everyday (usually just not on Sunday because that's sort of a family day). Most of the time we played on the computer, watched movies, napped, cooked, and went out to hang out with friends.
