A Miniature Return
Sunday, February 25, 2007
The subject refers to my random but short-lived visits to NuTang. I stopped by about three times throughout the day I believe. I'd like to thank all of you who left me comments on the previous entries as it was very helpful! THANK YOU!

Well work went by pretty quickly. Only 4 hours but I got to drive my car and not take the bus so that was great. Had to fix someone's mistake and clean up after it. Normally it would be very slow and lax on a Sunday but due to the snow that started at 3pm, people were gassing up like you wouldn't believe. Sold, on average, over 1,000 gallons of gas per hour. Which leads me to this next point...:

Okay. I live in Southeastern Pennsylvania. We get snow. At times we get A LOT of snow. We should be rather acclaimated to it, no? Well apparently I am one of the few residents around here that doesn't freak out at the slightest hint of snow in the forecast. And I have a lot of problems regarding this. 1) Why would you buy 7 gallons of milk? How long do you think you'll actually be snowed in if we WERE to get an amount that would snow you in? In 1992 we received about 18 inches of snow. A foot and a half. Sure schools were closed and many businesses were closed the following day. But you could still easily drive around. We have a thousand plows in our area. And I can't remember, even in local history, there every being a snowstorm that stranded people for more than a day after it officially stopped snowing.

And 2) Why fill your car with gasoline?? If you expect to be stranded it would mean that you can't use your car. So a lot of good that gas does. And trust me....I know for a fact that the station where I work would be open no matter what amount of accumulation there might be.

And overall I feel that the worst part is that they acted in such a fashion that I thought a foot, at least, had been predicted for our area. 6 inch maximum! 3-6 inches! That amount of snow is by no means a catalyst for what was going on in the area (atleast where I work). A customer came in and honestly warned us not to go to the grocery store two miles up the road. He said that you'd think that they were giving everything in the store away for free by how packed it was and how people were acting.

Well the snow is coming down only very lightly. And there's MAYBE an inch of the snow on the ground. Hey people, good luck drinking your 7 gallons of milk before they expire!

And onward...

Jenn ( invisibleinkling ) starts back at the airline in the morning! I am getting up at 5am to drive her to the train station so she can avoid walking through snow because no one will have shoveled/cleared their sidewalks by 5am. And I'll probably drive her as many days as my schedule permits.

I am so happy that she's going back there. Shortly I'll have the medical coverage I really need...as will she. And the travel benefits will kick ass as soon as both of our schedules permit us using them to their full extent!

I had a talk with Chad last week when i picked him up from work on Sunday evening. I told him that between her two train rides and time at work, Jenn will be gone most of the day on the days that she works and things will be stressful enough (atleast in the first 6 months during her probation time) and that we'll need his help. He hasn't pulled his weight with there being three of us to take care of everything. I still end up cleaning up after him way too often and his room gets no attention from him whatsoever. I told him that she'll feel much better after the long days that she'll have if everything is kept up with and orderly. I asked for his extra help in taking the dog out and doing some of the chores that the three of us all take care of. And then i stressed that he take care of his stuff such as his room. It irritates me enough that it looks (and most time smells) when I told him before he moved in that since he wasn't going to have his name put on our lease that he'd have to make it look like no one was living in the room. Let's just say that the dog keeps his room far cleaner than chad's and smells marginally better as well haha God give us strength. But I will be reminding him often to help me keep everything looking better for Jenn's sake..beyond just our sakes.

Now, if you stop by Jenn's blog wish her luck as it will help me out as well in the longrun hahaha

And finally. The rock band we auditioned with decided to go with another bassist rather than ours and we're not breaking up our band by kicking out Brian just to play with them. And on Saturday we have an excellent musician coming to our practice. He wants to go for vocalist but he can also play drums, guitar, bass, keyboards..etc... So hopefully he'll sound great in some way with what we want to do as a band and he will want to join us.

Okay this has been long enough...but it'll give you plenty to read in case it takes me a little while to post again.

Have a greeeat night!

Sort of a goodbye for now
Saturday, February 24, 2007
My PC officially keeled over with it's tongue lolling out last night. I will be online from time-to-time from Jenn's ( invisibleinkling ) computer but not regularly. So I am not positive when I'll be able to update on here.

I should be able to get a very, very cheap one (which will eventually lead to a similar problem but I'll have a computer til then!) with my income tax return but that means that It'll be about 2-3 months before I have one.

Thrive on, NuTang. In my absence as you had in my presence! Same to all of you great community members. The reason why I, and most of us, return to 'blog about even the most boring moments of our lives in the off-chance that someone out there is ever more bored and would find your post exhilarating

Live on. Thrive on. M-F'in ROCK ON!!!
