N'orlens or New Orleens?
Monday, August 28, 2006
Mood: Happy

*sigh* Ok. My husband and I were at a resteraunt the other night and the Indianapolis Colts and New Orleans (I forget the teams' name) were playing on tv. He kept pronouncing New Orleans as "N'orlens". Just telling him and NOT trying to get him to change is pronounciation, I told him that the French pronounciation is the true proper way to say it, since it is a French name (I can't spell the French pronounciation xp). He said that since we're in America, it's supposed to be pronounced the English way. I'm like "ok?". Then, I said, "yeah there's an English way, but since America is a melting pot, so-to-speak, we're supposed to give credit to other cultures." I pronounce it as "New Orleens" with a long "e". He kept telling me that it's wrong and that "N'orlens" is the right way. I told him over and over that there's many English ways to say it. >.< I was only telling him that the French way is the proper way, NOT trying to get him to change the way he says it. I know that America will never say it in French. >.<
It was a silly conversation, indeed and I actually enjoyed it. XD

It doesn't matter how you say it, everyone knows what you're talking about. I would like to pronounce it in French, but people would probably be like, "What the heck are you saying?" >> So, I'll stick to "New Orleens", with my complete vowel Northern accent. XD

So my question for you is how do you pronounce it?

Chocolate!
Friday, August 25, 2006
My friend and I were discussing really good, fancy chocolate. She was describing chocolate that I've never heard of, but we both have heard of Godiva chocolate. It's sooooo good! It's very expensive, but so worth it. A small piece is between $1 and $5. I know it's a lot, but it's worth it's price! Bundles are like $20-$60 and the gifts baskets are like $70+. =O I want some so bad.

This is from The Cheescake Factory, which I suppose was made with Godiva chocolate.

A bundle

Candy bars

A piece

I could go on, but I don't want to add so many pics that it makes the page forever to load. I want a bundle for my bday! Hopefully, I can get someone to buy me some Godiva chocolate! =D Click here to see the website.
