school play Thursday December 8, 2005 6:27pm I saw my school's play last night. It was really good. It's called "The Laramie Project". You might've seen the movie.. it's a true story. Just in case you didn't know, I'll rewrite the little summary that was in the pamphlet that was passed out before the play. >>> "In October 1998, a 21 year old student at the University of Wyoming was kindnapped, severely beaten and left to die, tied to a fence in the middle of the prairie outside of Laramie, Wyoming. His bloody, bruised and battered body was not discovered until the next day, and he died several days later in a nearby hospital. His name was Matthew Shepard, and he was the victim of this assault because he was gay. Moises Kaufman and his fellow members of the Tectonic Theater Project made 6 trips to Laramie over the course of a year & a half in the aftermath of the beating and during the trial of the 2 young men accuse of killing Shepard. They conducted more than 200 interviews with the people of the town. Some people interviewed were directly connected to the case, and others were citizens of Laramie, and breadth their reactions to the crime." And this only happened 7 years ago. crazy. It really makes you think. psh. I'm still thinking about it. The actors in the play were insanely GOOD. I have to say good job to Robert, Robyn, Remy, Monica, Christian, Tabitha, Rachel, and Bobby. nice job guys! =] Well that's all for now. Monday December 5, 2005 8:21pm I've finally pinpointed a pet peeve of mine. I hate it when someone creates an argument/lecture and they keep talking and talking, which by the end, makes their whole point. so everyone understands them & there's period of no talking because everyone's thinking about what just happened or they're so angry, they don't want to talk. and then the person starts up again out of nowhere (because you figure the discussion is over with, right?), and continues to ramble on about what they JUST talked about. I GET IT. JUST SHUT UP. geeez. i understand what you already said, there's no need for you to keep talking about the same thing. get over it already. I don't know if that made any sense... I think it's better if I explained it out loud. can't do that though. but yeah. that really annoys me. REALLY. Comment! (2) | Recommend!
