Studying is when we try to cram in 10 weeks of material in one night and end up giving up in hopes that we'll miraculously ace the test anyways.

Well, that's how I study and possibly why I'm not doing so well this quarter....

Anyways, one of our koi fish tried to commit suicide yesterday. This particular fish, let's call him Burt, is approximately 1 1/2 feet long and decided to jump out of the pond. I was sitting by the window, watching TV when I heard something outside. I thought it was my brother out there or someone.... so, I decided to check it out. I open the door and here was Burt flopping on the ground. So, I run to my dad's room (he's on the phone, by the way, with my mom who's in Vietnam right now) and I tell him, "There's a fish.... on the ground." He quickly hangs up with my mom and runs out to see that I was right! (See? I wasn't lying, dad!) Apparently, the pump stopped working and Burt was suffocating. I had no idea fish could suffocate. I learn something new everyday.

And I think my brain is full to capacity and cannot input any more information.

Missing out on the Lupe Fiasco concert at school. I have a massive headache and a concert definitely wouldn't help. Hopefully I'm not getting sick, but this random San Diego weather is making it hard to stay healthy!

Taking cognitive science makes you think.. and experiment.
I did an experiment on my friend yesterday. She talks with A LOT of hand gesturing (which is probably why she's so into sign language), so I made her sit on her hands and told her to talk without using any hand gestures. She couldn't even say a complete sentence; she actually had a hard time forming words because she couldn't use her hands. Interesting, eh?

For all you deep thinkers out there.. I have a question(s) that was asked during our class:
What is language?
Some people say it's a way to communicate, but is that all what language is.. just a way to communicate? Do animals have language? Babies? What if there was no language at all?
