That's one bad@$$ looking rubber ducky. I have to ask since it's from so long ago, is that lyric from No Doubt's Tragic Kingdom album? Seems like so long ago that she was making REALLY GOOD music..

Just to tell you... that's not the album that comes from, I've never heard that before, so sorry lol.
My quote comes from the Vandals, it's a spin on the Joy to the World Christmas song. It's just something that makes me smile. I'm glad you like my rubber ducky though, isn't he fun? I've got a thing for cute little duckies.

Alrighty, well I'm off, I just wanted to clear that up! Happy days to you all!

I just read about randomjunk seeing AFI and the Cure... I'm so jealous. I bet it was an amazing show.

Did I ever post about my own AFI experience? I'll have to check it out and if not make it one of my next-ish blogys

One of my best friends is coming to visit next week... that probably means I should get the ripped up pieces of everything the dog has eaten off the floor. But every time I do, the dog gets mad that it's cleaned and finds new, more important things to eat!

So today, the hippo walked into a coffee shop and said... if things don't start getting active in my life, I'm going to really start coming up with some posts for you guys, I don't want to keep you bored all the time.

I send love...

Stone head calling cards...
Thursday. 10.4.07 10:40 am
Stone head mystery leaves area vexed By Luke Baker
Wed Oct 3, 8:34 AM ET

LONDON (Reuters) - They've been left on doorsteps and outside post offices in the dead of night, but no one knows what to make of the mystery of the stone heads.

As many as 20 artfully carved faces, miniature versions of the Easter Island sculptures, have been deposited in sleepy villages across northern England in recent weeks, leaving the recipients intrigued and confused.

Each of the stone heads, some measuring up to 45 cm (18 inches) high, is slightly different, but all of them have the same riddle attached, written on a thin blue card.

"Twinkle twinkle like a star, does love blaze less from afar?" it reads, with the word "paradox" written around the points of a star.

While a publicity stunt of some sort is suspected, not unlike the crop circle mysteries that obsessed Britain a decade ago, there are no clues as to who may be leaving the heads. Police, residents and recipients are all non-plussed.

"It appeared last Monday in the early hours of the morning," said Fiona Gould, the owner of the Forresters Arms Hotel in the village of Kilburn, North Yorkshire.

"I love it. We've nicknamed it Forest Lump. We've put him on the end of the bar and he gets a pat on the head before everyone goes to the races."

Valerie Hoyes, who runs the post office in the village of Braithwell, about 40 miles south of Kilburn, discovered hers back in August, but thought nothing of it. She didn't tell anyone until others came forward.

After the discovery, her husband reviewed security camera footage and caught a glimpse of a man getting out of a car, but his face was indistinguishable and the mystery remained.

"This chappie just drove up at 4.15 in the morning, parked his car and dropped off these three stone heads on the doorstep," Valerie Hoyes told Reuters.

"They're a bit like gargoyles. They're very bizarre.

"We've been living in Braithwell for 26 years and we've never known anything like this at all. Never. People wonder if it's part of the occult."

Stonemasons say the sculpting is good, and the stone of high quality. It would have taken hours of careful work to make them.

Since her discovery, Gould has received emails from all over with suggestions of who might be responsible. One pointed to a local sculptor called Billy Johnson, but he's not been found.

Either way, she's not worried. "Forest Lump" has brought her luck, she says.

"It put the wind up everyone for the first week or so, but now I like it. Friends who I haven't heard from or seen in years are getting in touch, so I'm very happy."

-- sorry about another news story, but this one just seemed really cool, I can imagine doing something like that. Carve a bunch of things and leave them in random places, just to make people smile and connect with each other. We are, in fact, all humanity, you know? --

Mr. Potato Head
Thursday. 10.4.07 10:32 am
SYDNEY, Australia - Customs officers discovered nearly 10.5 ounces of ecstasy tablets hidden inside a Mr. Potato Head toy sent to Australia from Ireland, the agency said Thursday.

Upon opening the parcel, the officers were greeted with the smiling face of the popular children's toy, which features a potato-like head and removable facial features. But when they removed a panel from the back of the toy, the officers found 10.34 ounces of ecstasy in a plastic bag.

The Australian Customs Service referred the matter to federal police, but no arrests were immediately made, the agency said. The maximum penalty for importing drugs to Australia is life imprisonment.

"Whilst this is one of the more unusual concealments that we have seen in recent times, people need to be aware that Customs officers are alert to unusual and often outlandish methods of concealment," Customs Director Post Karen Williams said.

Geez! who thought of that?? Innocence is gone when we make a potato head into a drug carrier...

weekend happenings and a new game (UPDATED)
Wednesday. 10.3.07 1:25 pm
So updates on life...
I still like to sit and type in the library, even though the internet works great at home... it's just nice here, I guess.
I got to go back to my hometown last weekend. It was really nice but my parents weren't even around. I saw all my friends though and I had them try on their bridesmaids dresses... everyone looked amazing. When I get home I'll update this post with a picture of them all, so everyone can see their beauty. There was one bridesmaid missing, she had a softball tournament going on and couldn't make it, but i bet she'll look great too.
My dress needs a little work... like it doesn't have a bussle. That's the thing that holds up the train so that I don't have a cape behind me all night, so it's rather essential. One of my girls' mother is a seamstress though and she said that she would fix all the dresses up right for free, and that she could totally fix the problems with the dresses.
Everything is finally coming together, and by the end of the week, I probably won't be so ridiculously stressed out anymore. Everything else is going great, and I'm even keeping up in school! Haha. Well I think I'm going to go back to my hometown this weekend again, and just hang out, that way I'll have a chance to see my parents. Well, I guess I better get going, I have another class to get to, but I will update this later with a picture or two so if you are reading this and don't see them, come back later and check them out!

OH! and I wanted to tell you guys about this game that I have been playing. It's a little monkey that throws darts at balloons... it doesn't sound that fun but it is oddly addictive and sounds like your guys' kind of game. If you want to play, go to www.coffeebreakarcade.com and under new games, it's called Bloons or something like that. It's the one with the picture of the monkey and the balloon... pretty self explanatory. Let me know what you think.

and just to refute randomjunk's comment... I'm sure you can tell from all these posts that I'm not your typical bride... There WILL be good music and food, and of course vegetarian sorts, cause I am! It is promised to be worthwhile... if only you all could come...
