Well, the Kinetics is postponed 'till next Saturday, due to a not-so-freakish snowstorm that blew into the Denver area Friday. It's probably going to be nice today, though. If it is I'm gonna try to do some spring cleaning... I read this article with the thought to find something snide and cynical to write about...but it left me feeling...sad... Woman Drove for Days with Dead Mother in Car Apr 30, 7:24 am ET MIAMI (Reuters) - An Oklahoma woman drove around for days with her mother's decomposing body in the passenger seat of her car, Florida investigators said on Thursday. Sheriff's deputies found the woman's body on Tuesday in a car parked outside a Wal-Mart store in the northeast Florida city of Palm Coast. The medical examiner ruled the 65-year-old woman had died of natural causes at least five days earlier. The woman's daughter, in her mid-30s, was inside the 24-hour store, where she had been shopping since the night before. She was incoherent and unable to give a clear account of her journey to Florida, Flagler County Sheriff's investigators said. Police went to investigate when other shoppers complained about the odor coming from the parked car. They traced the auto registration and pieced together details of the trip from receipts found in the car. The women had lived together in Covington, Oklahoma, and left there several weeks ago. They traveled through Texas and North Carolina on the 1,300-mile trip to Florida, the investigators said. It was not clear if the mother died at a stop-off or in the car. The daughter was hospitalized for psychiatric examination. No charges were filed because the mother's death was from natural causes. No further details were available.

...dealing with some ghosts and fears and fears of ghosts...and those of you that get it...have been there...or are there know and those of you that don't get it have probably just forgotten... I haven't, though. My father dying suddenly in the hospital...recovering from...pneumonia...i think, which, in the 1950's, was not a little deal, and then to be out getting doctor-ordered fresh air, to be stung by a bee and die from the reaction because his immune system was depleted...and i, being only 3, and my last memory of him was standing outside his second-story hospital window (in those days kids were considered "germ carriers", and not allowed on most floors of hospitals under most curcumstances, unless they were being treated) waving to him, and him waving back... And so my consideration of potentally risky operations on my spine, the injections in my disks having failed and my health, stamina, and ability to mask the pain with vicodin becoming more and more of a problem...does not rest light on my mind...I think about Stevie P. He is paralyzed from the 6th vertebrae down, the location of the worse of the two damaged discs. Stevie was hurt in a downhill biking accident. Evan and I visited him in rehab. in Denver, one of the best hospitals in the world for treatment and rehab of spinal cord injury. The visit greatly affected me...the sheer number of people there with such varying injuries and in various stages of recovery...I wondered what sort of patient I would be..my attitude...my greatest love...my guitar...not being able to play...even that would be overshadowed by not being able to hug my family...feel my kids' arms around me...giving my wife the backrubs she loves so much... ...and...oh yeah...I am such a chickens * * t !!!
