What Elephant?
Saturday. 9.16.06 10:49 pm
Today in the LA times there was an article, smack in the middle of the California section, about the elephant in the living room. It said it was painted from head to toe in a decorative red and gold pattern which apparently is a big no-no for animal rights activists. But the permit could not be revoked because, before removing the elephant, LA county would have to give the elephant's housers a 5 day notice and in 3 days it will already be gone.

---------------------------------------------------------

There's an elephant in the room
There's a problem we never talk about.

The fact is that life isn't getting any fairer.

1.7 billion people have no access to clean drinking water.

20 billion people live below the poverty line.

Every day hundreds of people are made physically sick by morons at art shows telling them how bad the world is but never actually doing something about it.

Anybody want a free glass of wine?

---------------------------------------------------------

It turns out that, though the elephant was fun and all, there was really a lot more to be interested about. It was just an eleborate ploy to get bored Los Angeles off of its uncultured ass to see something that it would never otherwise really care about: art. Like civil war soldiers we could all just say "I'm going to see the elephant" and like The Greatest Show on Earth, the elephant wasn't all of it. What this Bansky art show was, was really just a collection of wit, sometimes harmless, sometimes loaded but either way fun.

Oh my God, thats so cute
The way you just draw on stuff and
think about yourself all the time

I want to find my true love so I can have causal sex.

A number of doctored images that once were snuck into London art galleries.

LOL!!

There are a few more pictures here if you are interested.

The Armageddon Days are Coming
Tuesday. 9.5.06 12:01 am
It's a bit of a read and not excatly religion safe. It could use some reducing too. But I'm lazy. So don't be like me, and read this.

The Christians thought it was going to happen 1000 years after the birth of their saviors, while the Norse believed it would happen at the end of time when the gods (the Æsir, led by Odin would fight fire giants, the Jotuns and various monsters, led by Loki. Science tells us that in about 3 billion years the Andromeda Galaxy will collide with ours and if that doesn’t kill us our own sun will 2 billion years after that. Sir Isaac Newton cut it sort of that: about 2060ish.

According to the scriptures of the demigod “superman” who I will refer to as the Übermensch from now on, Doomsday came and went. Much like the story of Jesus, “It all began in a field several hundred miles outside of Metropolis, on a warm sunny afternoon. A low rumbling could be heard, growing louder and louder. Finally the source of this noise was revealed: a large, hulking behemoth, wrapped in green fabric and cables. This huge monster did not speak but instead began a murderous and seemingly random rampage. The Justice League was the first to go up against this monster, which was quickly able to beat them all senseless. [The Übermensch] arrived and found himself up against a being of such strength and mindless rage as he had never encountered before…Although [the Übermensch] was able to finally subdue and destroy the beast, the toll on his own body was too much. As the monster Doomsday fell to the ground, lifeless, so too did [the Übermensch].”

As it turns out, the fight between the Übermensch and Doomsday was a lot like the fight between antibacterial soap and the germs on your sweaty hands. Doomsday returned again and again and again growing stronger and immune to the tactics of the Übermensch. Doomsday was even once trapped between teleporters, vaporized by the Imperiex, and brought to a storage facility hundreds of feet below the Pentagon where the Joker freed him to bring wrath to the universe once again.

The scriptures of the Übermensch are based on similar fundamental historical precedents and scientific theory as most predictions for the end are (to be fair the Übermensch is actually somewhat ahead of the others considering its use of evolution) and so, in my mind, it should be held to the same criticism and praise as any other theory such as Christianity and Norse Mythology: none! However like all works of absurdity there is, by coincidence mostly, a tiny bit of truth. I guess this is just a round about way of saying that just like the years before, Doomsday returns again when summer ends and school begins. Farewell sleeping in late, I’ll miss you.

Update of the Century!
Tuesday. 8.29.06 12:54 pm
Well not exactly oh well. Anyway I'm still alive except I'm not sure how long that's going to last. School starts in a week! AHH!!! Last week I went on a little college tour with my parents.. woo. [There are picturess] Yesterday I saw the illusionist which was weird at best. Afterward I found out that I was supposed to be at a friends suprise party but alas, I was stranded in the middle of the valley without any means of transportation. Ugh. I attempted to catch a bus, but I was short of 25 cents, and by the time I had enough money to ride it there were no more buses for around half an hour. Double Ugh. I did manage to make it, though 2 minutes late. Oh well. And thats it for my not so interest past couple weeks.
