I haven't updated in awhile, and I really have no excuse for it. I haven't been busy, and I haven't been away from the computer. I just have not felt like typing up an entry, but now I've got some free time, so why not update, right?

Friday night's football game was a blast! Knights lost 7 to 41, but that didn't even matter. We're used to our team losing. What made it so great was that in the first half, our team was actually fighting back instead of just handing the ball over. A few of plays were just hilarious, like the one when our guy latched onto the other team's guy by the ankle and wouldn't let go until they were both on the ground. Or when we had to kick the ball to the other team. It was the worst kick in the world, the ball hardly getting any air at all, but it was just enough to hit some guy from the opposing team right where it hurts and bounce the ball back to our team. Sucks to be that one guy, but it was freaking funny to watch.

Then there was the ordeal when a cheerleader got hit the the head with a quarter that some idiot threw. She's a freshman in the science class I'm an aide for, and she had to get three stitches. Ouch.

I spent my weekend after that watching the third season of Grey's Anatomy. I still haven't finished the whole thing, but I'm almost there and I really like it. Even though it makes me cry a lot. Which is really kind of sutpid, but it does so whatever. Don't judge.

I had to get my new school ID picture taken yesterday. It's terrible, but what was even worse was the wait. When I went down to the cafeteria to have it done, it was 2:15. By the time I got back to my fourth period class, it was almost 3:30. There weren't that many students there. The hold up was because the woman that was taking the pictures was on the phone for a good ten minutes, and that put everyone behind schedule. But, instead of admit that she had some things that held her up, she goes to tell us that it's our fault because we weren't in alphabetical order. Well, excuse me, but you don't have to be alphabetical order. All you do is tell her your ID number, and there you go. The order we were in played no part in it. Crazy people, I tell ya.

Today was yearbook pictures. I think I blinked. Becky got lost on her way to get her picture taken and ended up going in circles until she finally found where she was supposed to be. Yet another reason why we all love her.

So, I guess that's it. Except for I borrowed this awesome CD from Becky who borrowed it from Brittany. It's RevelationTheory. I like.

school days.
Wednesday. 9.12.07 7:31 pm
It seems that all I ever do on this blog is make entries about my boring school life. With that said, you should know what this entry is going to be about. Yep, my day at school. Aren't we all so excited?

I got yelled at once again today in the principal's office by another parent on the phone. Don't they get that yelling and complaining to me does nothing? I have no authority, and the best that I can do is pass the message along to the principal once he finds his way back to his office. Then, he ignores most of messages because, like me, he finds them pointless and nothing but a waste of time. I eventually got tired of it and left, again, but this time I went with Caity to drop off some papers and then to the band room to hide out for a little while.

We had a quiz in second period. My group's notes sucked, but it was okay. Third we were outside, walking around looking like idiots holding compasses that we didn't know how to read. Lunch is lunch. I graded papers in fourth. Nothing too exciting there.

And now I'm still bored. There is a possibility that we might not have school tomorrow due to some water issues, so I'm hoping and praying that it doesn't get fixed in time. I feel bad for the people that need the water in the surrounding area, but I would really love a day off from school, as would most people. I can't wait for winter to get here so we can get our snowdays. hehe. I love snow.

What to write about...

Well, today during fourth period, I did get a break from grading papers to head down to the principal's office to find out some information about tonight's freshman football game. He was in a meeting, but there were some other students waiting outside of his door, so I decided to stick around and wait with them for a while. No one was really talking, but this one guy in my grade did start talking to me. I've only ever had one class with him, but he was talking to me like I was his best friend. He told me about the basic training place he went to over the summer, and where he was going to be stationed this coming summer. It's hard to believe that kids my age are already in the army, getting ready to be shipped out. But, I guess we really aren't kids anymore, and that's even harder to believe sometimes.

Now I understand what Peter Pan and his little group of friends were trying to do with the idea of Never Never Land or whatever that was called.

september 11.
Tuesday. 9.11.07 8:30 pm
Where were you when the world stopped turning on that September day?

Today in Political Science, what little we had of the class, our teacher had the TV on a news channel that was showing footage of the terriost attacks on the US on this day six years ago. It was mostly of the World Trade Center and when the towers fell, but it was still enough to get the attention of the whole class. We weren't required to watch it, no one said we had to, but every single person in that room turned around to see the images that we've been seeing for the past six years.

After the TV was turned off, Cody and I started talking about where we were when it actually happened. Apparently, at his middle school they chose not to alarm the students, and he wasn't told about it until the end of the day. At my school, all the teachers had the TVs on. I can remember that a few of them were crying, and then there were kids running through the halls yelling, "They took out the Pentagon!"

As a sixth grader, I had no idea what that meant. I didn't really know what it meant that these planes were being hijacked and crashed. I just knew that it was bad. Later on, we would all be sat down in our classes and told exactly what was happening, and what it meant. Parents were pulling their children out of school, which I thought was stupid for where we live, but whatever, and it was just a chaotic day.

Now, we hardly even recognize it. Political Science was the only class that I had that the attacks were brought up in. There was no moment of silence, and no one even blinked at the date. To me, this is sad and pathetic and there's no excuse for it. I know that this happened six years ago, but how can you just move on? I don't get how you really can if you live in the United States and see how the attacks of that day effect your everyday lives. I don't even know how to put into words my frustration over all of this, and I don't think I'll try because you'd get nothing but paragraph after paragraph of angry ranting.

To make the day even better, office duty first period really sucked. There was some smoking on a bus this morning, and while the principals were dealing with that, I was the one answering the phone when the angry mothers were calling in. How wonderful to start off my day by getting yelled at for something that I was in no way involved in. Eventually, I just left the office and let the phone ring.

Second period we had our senior class meeting where the rules were read to us, and we were once again reminded that we were to respect and follow them. I found the whole thing to be a waste of time. The rules are simple. Don't do drugs on school property. Wear appropriate clothing. No cell phones in class. Don't bring weapons to school. Blah blah blah. We've heard it all before. The only thing that was even somewhat important was hearing some information about the ACT testing and about some deadlines that we have to meet.

Third period we had a "rainy day" packet to do because, yes, it was raining. Then lunch, then off to watch the ninth graders suffer through their science class. Today they weren't as funny, but I still managed to find some amusement in it.

and that was my September 11.

my day today.
Monday. 9.10.07 9:26 pm
Today definitely had it's up and down moments. First period, I got to learn how to run the principal's coffee maker. Now, I'm not an idiot, and I don't know if the principal just assumed that I was and thought that I needed to be shown how to make coffee or what, but he just kept on talking and showing me what to do. I just nodded my head and smiled. No point in arguing.

Second period, I almost fell asleep again. It's not that I don't like Political Science. I actually kind of really like that class. And the teacher does good lectures, but I just can't seem to stay awake in there. Thankfully, Cody was there to keep me from nodding off for too long, even though I did yell at him the one time for it. Sorry 'bout that.

Third period was dull. I can't go outside with the rest of the class due to some medical crap, so I have to stay inside. I was supposed to meet my teacher down by the main doors of the school concourse where he would show me what they class was doing outside so that I could attempt to do some of it in the concourse. I waited. I read some of the posters on the walls, and what other kids had written on them. After wondering around for almost a half hour, the teacher finally shows up and brings the rest of the class indoors as well so that we can all do this part of the activity. We got it done, and then they all headed back outside and I went back up to the classroom. As you can imagine, I was pretty bored, so I broke out the calculator and played some games on it for a few minutes. That got old, so I put that away and headed next door to talk to that teacher for a few minutes.

Eventually, the rest of my class did come back, and then it was off to lunch. Nothing exciting happened there, and then it was off to fourth period with the ninth grade science class. They got some papers back today, and that teacher requires that they keep all of their papers in a three-ring-binder in chronological order. It's not hard to do, and most of the kids didn't have a problem with it. There was this one boy, though, that seemed to be amazed with it. I overheard him telling the boy next to him all about it. "Look, it goes from the 27th, to the 30th, and then to the fourth..." I couldn't help but to laugh. Not loud enough so that he would hear me, but come on, that's funny.

Before the final bell of the day rang to dismiss students, a teacher came around to ninth grade classes handing out free pepperoni rolls. Before she left, she was kind enough to give me one, which I saved for me and Becky to eat on the bus. It wasn't all that great, but you don't say no to free food.

There was a 4-H meeting tonight. On the way there, I had my mind made up that this would be my last meeting, that I was done with the club and that I was quitting and there was nothing that anyone could do to stop me. Except for Becky. Of course, it's always Becky, right? Well, she tells me that she has to stay in the club one more year, but I don't have to if I don't want to. Which really meant that she wanted me to, but she just wasn't going to say it. So, I agreed that I would stay in it with her, and then what does the idiot do? She goes and gets herself elected as the new club president. Then, I follow by ending up as the new club treasurer. Great, huh? Next year in this club should be interesting...

Now, I am off to go paint my nails. later.

drift away.
Sunday. 9.9.07 10:54 pm
Give me the beat boys and free my soul. I wanna get lost in your rock n roll and drift away...

Yep, that's the song that I am listening to at the moment. Incase you don't know what it is, it's Drift Away by Dobie Gray. Great song right here. When I first heard it, it made me think of the beach 'cause of the whole 'drift away' thing. I don't know if that is what a lot of people got out of it, but that was what I thought. Now when I hear it, I think of nothing but the scene from a season four episode of Dawson's Creek when Mitch is driving down the road listening to this song and eating an ice cream cone. To make a long summary a bit shorter, Mitch is singing along, drops his ice cream, wrecks and dies. I sobbed. Actually, I sob a lot over that show. It may be older and only airing reruns, but it's still freaking awesome.

Today wasn't really high on activity. I got up, ate breakfast, and then spent a few hours watching some season one espisodes of Supernatural. Season two comes out on DVD Tuesday! Heck yes! That, and the third season of Grey's Anatomy. hehe. I really have no idea what's going on with GA on TV, but the third season of Supernatural is starting Oct. 4!

All right, now that I am past that... After my Supernatural time, I got on here for a while, and then ate dinner with my parents and my Groovy [aka my grandma]. Then I had to do some work on my stupid 4-H book, and now I'm working on this entry.

There really isn't anything planned this week other than another home football game. woohoo. I don't know, I guess it's just going to be the same old school junk. Might as well get used to it, though. This is only the start of week three, and there's still a lot way to go until graduation.

so.
Saturday. 9.8.07 5:54 pm
Okay, so I'm thinking that we had "College Day" at our school on Thursday. I am pretty sure that it was Thursday... I was so tired the past few evenings after school that I didn't even attempt to post anything on here, and now I can't remember when everything happened. But, I'll try to be as accurate as I can.

Anyway, I am fairly sure that this College Day thing happened on Thursday. The senior class all loaded up on the five buses that the school board let us have for this little excursion . We needed six buses, really. One bus had to make two trips to get the rest of the students that there wasn't enough room for the first time around. After everyone finally got to the center where this event was being held, we got the usual lectures and then we were told that we were to look at these college and universities, but we were only given five sessions. How were we supposed to get to really look at all those papers and talk and find out everything that we wanted to know about these places when we were being told how long we could be at one place and that we were only getting to look at five of them?

I saw nothing [or didn't get to see anything] that changed my mind. I still think that WVU is the place where I want to go. As I talked with a few of my friends, they seemed to all have the same opinion. After that waste of time, they herded us back onto the buses [haha, Cody had to wait for the second bus! =P] and we got back in time to have maybe a half hour of our second period class.

I have come to the conclusion that being a student aide/office assistant really is a great thing. I mean, I do have to answer phones and take messages and run errands and all that, but it is definitely a lot better than sitting in some class I don't care about or need and having that extra work to do. First period, when I am an office assistant, I get to go off and do my own thing a lot of the time. I usually end up in the band room, talking with the teacher who is like my third or fourth mother. I love her to death, and I get to be her student aide next semester. haha. Fourth period, I have to run some more errands and file papers and write things on the board, but my favorite part is watching the ninth graders. I had the same teacher for CATS 9, and I do actually remember a lot of it. I remember thinking that there was no way I would pass that class, or that it was too hard or that the teacher didn't need to be that strict, but now I realize that it wasn't that bad. The ninth graders will see it too, but for now I am amused by the looks I see on their faces everyday. Is that mean?

Last night was our high school football team's first home game. I went with a bunch of my friend like the loyal fan than I am and sat through that whole freaking game to see our team lose. I don't remember the other team's score, but we had 6. The students up in the student section always manage to have fun, though. Whether we're burning popcorn or laughing at people because they've tripped or trying to persuade the cheerleaders to through one of those little mini footballs our way. The sad part about last night was that the band got more cheering and attention at half time than the football team did the entire night. There are home games for the next two weeks, so we'll see if our team does any better. Some how, I doubt that they will, but one never knows.

WVU played Marshall earlier today...and won. 48 - 23, Mountaineers! Heck yes.

Watching that game took up most of my afternoon. Now, I am stuck watching cartoons like Jimmy Neutron and Danny Phantom because I can't find anything else to watch. Not that I mind, because I do sometimes enjoy those cartoons, but still, why is it that there can't be anything else on? And now I see why I rarely watch TV. Unless it's Supernatural. hehe.

[Supernatural is love.]
