After a long night on Saturday night...which was fine since I really wanted to do everything we did that made it a long night (biggest factor of which was watching Zodiac because it was basically 3 hours long...but very, very worth the time!). We had to wake up at 6am which gave me about 4 hours of sleep, so that we could catch the train we needed to to get Jenn (
invisibleinkling ) to the airport in time for her flight. Didn't spend too long at the airport as she was able to check herself in for her flight and didn't have to wait in the lines for boarding passes and then instead of waiting in the VERY long line to go through security she was able to go through the employees entrance into security which allowed her to bypass the looong line. We said bye for the two weeks and then was rushed through the line which was good. I most likely would have missed atleast two more trains if she'd waited and I didn't have much time when i got home as it was.
The highlight of the day though was before I said bye I got a large CafeMocha which was delicious and an apple pie muffin. I thought that it would just be an apple flavored muffin. But it's oh so much more than that! It actually has some apple pie filling in it! But despite how hungry I was I ended up not eating more than the top of the muffin on the way home and I am finishing it now. It's almost ungodly good hah
When I got home I had time to do my laundry, shower and shave and head out to work. Work was...ehhh... I normally work 10am til 2pm on Sundays but it was switched to accommodate two other workers' schedules which worked out because it allowed me to take Jenn to the airport. But instead of the food side which I enjoy, I had to work the register side..where the level of enjoyment is much lower. For the most part it dragged and was pretty boring. But then I couldn't say that I wanted more customers to come in (although it did get quite busy here and there). I guess the perfect scenario would have been less customers but time seeming to go atleast 4 times faster.
But alas...I made it through the night at work. By the time that I had gotten home I should have been so incredibly exhausted. My legs hurt from all of the walking and standing all weekend but I was wide awake. I was growing more and more worried that I wouldn't wake up this morning in time for work. Even though i don't have to wake up too, too early, I always have troubles waking up to alarms without someone there to physically help wake me up. But after a couple calls from Jenn in Dallas which were designed to wake me up I managed to roll out of bed...and not onto my face I'd like to add.
I am working the usual 10am til 2pm as i do on Mondays which always sounds like a waste because of the time it takes me to get there and back. But normally I am scheduled for 38 hours with working the 4 hour Sunday shift. But working 8 hours last night bumped me up to two hours of overtime without even staying late on any of the shifts so half of today's shift will actually be time-and-a-half which makes it much more worth the trip.
After work I fully intend to do more cleaning around the apartment...a lot more...and to get as much work done on my new program which I have atleast halfway completed at this point. I am setting a goal for myself to have it done and have it hosted/available from
this site of mine.
Well it's time to get a little something to eat, get ready for and then leave to get to work. But I'll be back rather soon...today...please feel free to leave some looove. Thanks!

Just look at all that rain...
So Chad nearly died last night. Because I almost killed him. hah
He calls at 8:20 to say that he missed his bus but could get to the Norristown Transportation Center which is where he would normally catch the bus that would drop him off at our work but he missed his bus here and took the next one which made him miss the last one to work from NTC. So I would have to go get him. I was staying 15 minutes late and was going to head home but since he would have to be picked up in an hour and 20 minutes it would be a waste to come home and then drive to Norristown (30+ minutes in another direction) to get him and drive him to work. So I stay at work (not really working though...off the clock) for another hour and a half. Then I barely find my way to NTC because I can't quite remember which road the station is on but I did pretty well and still got there just a minute or two after his bus arrived.
I take him back to work and clocks in so the new girl can clock out late..and late for her ride and plans...and then I head right out for home. I change out of my work clothes, go to the bathroom, check NuTang and my e-mail for a few minutes which is all that it took anyway and then it was time to head over to the train station to pick up Jenn. So there went what was supposed to be 2.5 hours to relax and work on my new program just because he was late for the second time in three nights and someone had to go way out of their way to bring him in. Oh yeah...the icing on this cake of a story is that as soon as I picked him up he said that when we got back to the station he'd give me $10 for gas and my trouble. We get to the station , he opens his drawer, breaks a $10 for a $5 and 5 ones...and hands me a $5. I was going to nut him with my steel toed boot.
My legs are killing me now and I am just about to leave for my 8+ hour shift...today's shift sucks because we generally do a little over $5,000 in business..and I have to ring all of them up, count every pack of cigarettes in the building TWICE (once when I start and once before I leave), take care of all of the coffee and fill all of the cups throughout the day...when I usually can't go more than 2 minutes without a customer and normally have atleast 2 or 3 (or more) in a line at all times because they just keep coming. And so many people want atleast 50 tickets from the damned lottery machine which takes forever to do no matter how quickly you do it.
Normally Friday is my one day on that side and then it's back to the food side which is great for me. But now instead of my 10am-2pm shift on Sunday, I am working 2-10pm and on the register side instead of the food side. I get screwed again. But it should either give me Monday off (instead of my 4 hour shift over there) or I'm already guaranteed 2+ hours of overtime for the week and that's if I don't have to stay late on any of the other nights. Or this might be the week that the food manager is gone and I have to work all mornings. Oh god.
My...if this hasn't been bitchy...
My shoulder still kills me as the day progresses. And the 'swelling' or whatever it is has moved forward a bit. It still swells in all the same places but it's also a little further in front than it had been. I may end up paying to go have this looked at if I think that I can and still make rent/car insurance payment and help with the cable bill. We'll see. It's not so bad during the day but the past two evenings and then nights have been pretty bad.
Looks like we're going to see a couple bands play a battle of the bands. It's the follow up battle from the one that we were booked to play until John left the band. But it seems that the same bands are in it battling again. Lame. But you get in for $5 and that gives you a free beer and 2-3 hours of live music so it's a chance to get out. Jenn will join us after she gets back to town if it's still going on when she gets back. I think that we're practicing tomorrow morning/afternoon and then Jenn and I are headed to Philly to hit up South Street (Jenn wants graphic novels for the flights and time in Dallas...we both want the 300 graphic novel!!) and then dinner and a movie at the theaters where I worked when we lived in Center City and we'll see what else comes up. Mmmm maybe Gelato!
But it looks like my work schedule on Sunday should atleast allow for me to take Jenn to the airport so I can see her until she hits the security checkpoints where I can't go! And hopefully I'll be able to get there to pick her up on the Friday that she returns.
Well that's it for right now as I have to leave for work. Unless something really interesting happens at work today I may not post until tomorrow evening. But maybe I'll post about the battle show tonight.
Anyway. Have a great day (even if it's cold and rainy like it is here) and a killer start to your weekend!
