Hey dudes, my apologies for those who have been trying to contact me the previous few days or week or so, just got back from my holiday in Brunei. Did lots of EXCITING!! stuff there like finding my way in the thick jungle, going up and down lots of slopes, climbed (crawled rather) my first mountain and swam across river. Well, that's just some of the highlights that i did, got tons of other stuff i got to do as well such as drinking from stream water, getting poked by all the thorn plants, falling down the slopes lol. Guess the only thing i didn't get was leeches which would have been pretty cool. Only a handful got'em and they even kept it in a ziploc but alas were not allowed to bring it back lol. Well, that's about it for now, hope to see you soon guys.

so much has happened the past few weeks that it's a bit to catch up on. First was the platoon field camp which we had like our first 'realistic' exercise and then followed by the infamous digging and digging. Had some real memories to last, especially funny ones like when my friend's helmet rolled down the hill in the middle of the night and he couldn't find it till next morning. Learnt that being a bit more hardworking to get raincoat can really make a difference than hiding beside a tree in the downpour resulting in a very frozen idiot.

after camp the days seemed to have passed very fast...probably because from the lack of sleep and stuff. after that was social night, and got into trouble with the boss cos we apparantly screwed it up in her opinion. Also had live firing on a sunday zzz... but only perk was that i was the demolition guy and i got to run around with real explosives and blow stuff up, cant describe the rush you get when u ignite and start running, my friend said he never saw me run that fast before lol!! got my posting and glad to say that i've got the posting that i want... and then suddenly its the end of my course already, and that's of course after my overnight 24 km march to receive my senior bar. Delighted that my group won the carolling event in the ocs christmas lunch thingy, finding time to practice even though we were all under time constraint really paid off.. nervous but nice to see things succeed. well, here ends another chapter and now awaiting for the new one to begin...brunei here i come..

christmas came early this year for me :)

Reflections

alright.. i know i haven't been updating this blog religiously like i used to. Or that i have anything remotely profound to mention other than what i do in camp and stuff, which is probably why my interest ratings are dropping again lol!

Met up with Alvin and the gang yesterday to celebrate his 21st birthday. It has been quite a while since i saw all of them and quite glad that they are ok, infact think im even more jealous now because all of them seem to be enjoying themselves in camp... makes me really wonder what im doing man..

Oh well.. at least we didn't manage to crap like we used to, brought back nice memories from my poly days where we could see each other everyday. But still, effort to meet up does speak volumes about how much we are together and must really thank God that i have been blessed thus far in my life having so many good friends. Wynn's in taiwan right now for his camp, hope to see him soon in ocs, was quite touched when he messaged me on the night that he was leaving, came as a shock to me because it was on a saturday as well haha, but still, what he said after that made we realise i do have very good friends. To kaichen and gang, sorry haven't been able to see u guys lately because i seem to have activities going on every weekend, but rest assured that the christmas pigout will be a blast! Barret, can we set the tentative date on the friday before christmas?

Yup, now preparing to return back to camp.. going to embark on our very last major exercise before we get posted out. praying for good weather :X
kinda sad to know we're spliting apart just when everyone is getting to know each other better, but oh well.. that's how it goes around there, must enjoy whatever time we have left, even though it'll be really 'fun' training.

woot, finally passed my soc yesterday. ran a 9.20+, first time i ever passed the damn thing, quite estatic but body was on the floor (almost lol). though timing not fast or not up to wing standard yet, still means a lot to me because i've never passed it before, and it is a criteria to continue my course yup yup.

outbreak!
Friday, November 11, 2005
whaddya know.. its an outbreak!! muhaha

went back today for my test today and found out that half my section was sidelined. Think a total of 12 people in the sickbay for sore eyes and another 4 got Att C because of viral fever, which brings the total of sore eyes cases to about close to 30 i think and fever 15. Well, majority came from my platoon (don't look at me)..

took my theory tests and competed within an hour, then instructor said most prob i couldn't take the practical and had free time to take next week, which made me wonder why i come back all the way just to take 1 hour worth of test when it could have been done next week too.. zzzz.. then spent the rest of the time area cleaning. Wing SM praised my bunk (much of the hard work goes to my buddy) for cleaniness (like real...lol) and tidyness (ok maybe..) and excused us from further weekend regimental duties woot! After that the sickbay people came back and they weren't allowed to touch anything but to book out so i joined them as well haha. Formed a contingent of red eyed people and marched all the way out..

i suspect...

i have...
