About Art4TheHomeless
Imagine... a movement inspired by the arts to open the eyes of Americans to the plight of their own people. Imagine, through art, music and poetry, we are shining a much needed light on our own crisis: HOMELESSNESS

Art4TheHomeless was once a blog called Colors of Ink with Blogcharm, which closed down. Nutang, became the new home of Colors of Ink and was renamed Art4TheHomeless, by a really good friend, Samantha Medd. She is now the Co-Founder of Art4TH.

Now Art4TH is a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Organization that unites artists of all venues to promote homeless awareness in the US.

Art4TH does this through the Art4TH Webzine, a monthly online magazine that features a musician whose music plays throughout the website, a feature artist, and a feature writer while also featuring a homeless relief organization. All artists featured retain their copyrights and all of it is free. If you would like to be a featured artist, musician, or writer contact me at [email protected]

Just found out this week that I was invited to do an art show today--which makes up for missing out last week because of the accident. YAY! Wish me luck today!

My back hurts now. I am okay though, and alive and that is what counts. It reminded me to be more focused so I am definetly going to work on finishing this blog. Art 4 The Homeless will help those who want to connect with their local shelters.

2 year anniversary for Katrina
Sunday. 8.26.07 5:33 pm
Wednesday is the 2 year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. I can not believe another year has already gone so quickly.

There have been millions of lives devastated and changed forever because of Katrina and I have come across people who have said, "Katrina is over with, just forget about it" which really pisses me off. I hope that their loved ones die in a horrible manner and someone comes to them and say just get over it.

Healing yet another wound on the heart
Thursday. 8.16.07 5:09 pm
I have been busy at work lately and with romance but I dropped the romance. He just didn't show enough interest--he never called me, ignored my calls, and only wanted to see me when HE wanted to see me. This is my thing--if you really, really like me and if I am your girl, you would call me, right? Since he didn't he just wasn't interested so I dropped him--on a good note. We still say hi to one another when we see each other but he looks sad all the time. Hey, he should have called me and made an effort to actually date me. We didn't even go on one date--well one but that was it! Yes it hurt because we both connected and I love his personality. Maybe we could be friends, but I don't think its possible. Not only this, but he dissed me one day last week--not verbally but his actions spoke louder than any volume level he could have used. I don't like to be ignored at all and I don't like it when that significant other just pretends that I am not there and walks away from me.

I am going to refocus on this blog and pour my all into making new statewide links. I know I have been slacking but I am definitely going to make a come back.

Goin out Monday nite
Sunday. 7.29.07 12:05 pm
Ok I feel guilty. I am going monday nite with friends for a drink at the bar in the Westin hotel--the really expensive one but I am only going to get one drink yet here I am living big while my mom is on the streets--well in a shelter. But I am in Job Corps and I really want to treat myself to this. I have a Motorola silvr phone which I saved up for and it takes really good nite pictures. I will show some of the Olypmic Park watershows that I took in my next post--but I really want to see the city from the top of the Sundial--at the Westin. My two friends and I are cheap LOL so we will be sparing with our budgets but here I am doing what I want to do and my mother is unable to do that. I am doing all I can for her yet I still feel guilty. I am saving $$ and am doing well at my job and in class. I deserve to treat myself don't I?

I am doing a major power point presentation for my school and of course, I chose Homelessness in America as the topic. I am nervous about speaking in front of others but since its on a topic that I am passionate about and I want this to be on people's minds. That will be on Tuesday or Wednesday--I hope Wednesday.

Got some people interested in my art at work and someone from downtown who wants to see my porfolio so I really need to update it. Andre 3000 from Outkast has a piece of my art and told me that I could put him on my Clientele List and I need to do that. He was at an art festival where I had my work at in June. I have his autograph LOL. So I am going to hop offline and paint like crazy.
