so somehow im $150 overdrawn...which means when i finally get paid on friday i wont have much left to pay our bills with...everything is due this week...we're still $500 short on rent, god only knows with car insurance and registration due soon, chris not working, me barely working, all the money i was supposed to get this week falling through...god help us.
i feel like turning off everything and sitting in the dark all night...
im ready to sell everything and hide somewhere...

...but Soutwhest does not, in fact, suck.
They're actually one of the best companies I've ever worked for, and once past probation I'll have a lot more flexibility in my career. They take care of their employees really well, and they're a lot of fun to work for. Unfortunately, an airline is a business that can't afford to have flakey employees. It wasn't their fault I had issues when I had to leave, and really this isn't their fault either...I just REALLY needed some good new yesterday. I'm excited to be hired back, and I'm optimistic that it'll be soon because I know Philadelphia just got approved for a BUNCH of new hires. I just have to be patient, whether its pecuniarily advantageous or not. Keep me in your happy thoughts!

In other news...well, there really isn't any. Today was a pretty solid day. Not busy, not slow...pretty well flowing. We have hot water back, thanks Gods. Now, dinner's almost ready...yay!

I finally got ahold of Southwest today. Why is it that every time I'm about to be hired the woman handling my hiring goes on maternity leave and, pardon my lack of eloquence, shit gets messed up? I FINALLY got to speak the woman who called me last week saying Jennifer' left me a message on the 8th and I never got back to her. The 8th was the day she told me I needed my drug test, and she got the ID number from me that Thursday. Yes, she DID hear from me. We spoke on the phone. The gist of today's conversation was, "there WAS a spot, but I guess she already filled it so OOPS...maybe we'll give you a call next month...your background check is on file for 11 months." I really needed that phone call to have a start date in it.
The stress level of the day has NOT gone down. There's supposed to be some big wig from the top visiting our store tomorrow, so we were in "clean and organize" mode. Sales were shitty, and I have never felt so uncomfortable in a work uniform in my life as I do now that this shirt thing is being enforced. Today I felt ugl, and fat, and dirty. It was just one of those days.
I tried to get Chris to have dinner with me at the mall, but that backfired. He's making dinner we can eat while we watch TV. I love sitting on the couch with him, but we never really have conversations unless there's something we have to do or there's something wrong. I'd like to sit and have a conversation over a HOT meal (which is another issue altogether) one night, whether it's mall food or not.

And now..the (phonetically stress relieving) coo de GRAAAAAAH.... we STILL have no hot water! I hunted down the emergency maintenance number, but they haven't come yet so I still haven't had a chance to shower.

God give me patience...or knock me out quickly tonight so tomorrow can start a better day...and rent...we'd really like that too...
No one's really around to vent to, which is probably good because all I've done is be a puling bitch. Meh.

Ok enough...time to edit some more photos from last night. I can't wait to post them!

i get a myspace message tonight fromt he guy who writes the comic "my monkeys name is jennifer" you see, its my current myspace display name. his message asks if im a fan or if its just a coincidence. i explain that we've met on several occasions, not that i expect him to remember me.

the first time i met him was in san diego. id found out about his comic from a google search game whereyou type in your name followed by "is" all in quotation marks. you're supposed to document the best results. mine was "jennifer is a crazy monkey".

san diego con in and of itself was an adventure. i took a train from martinez to san diego, spent a night with a friend, then found myself homeless the next day. that night i slept in a pile of unused drain pipes with a bunch of street kids i met, and the next morning i headed to the first day of comic con sporting my big green backpacking pack. i looked like a turtle. i spent all day looking for the slave labor table in hopes of meeting johnen vasquez (which is a whole new story i wont get into tonight) and eventually met ken. i explained how i found his book, and asked him to draw a quick sketch in my sketchbook, the result was an anrgy looking monkey screaming, "damn you and your crazy google searches!" the rest of the trip was a mix of disaster and awesomeness. i finally ended up staying at a nearby hostel after being kicked out of yet another arrangement (that included me not really wanting to blow a cartoonist who never wouldve let me stay anyway) before heading out to long beach to spend my birthday at scot's.

then i met him at wizard world here in philly one year while i was hanging out with the philly cartoonists. i bought the graphic novel, and it came with a free shot of what they claimed was vodka....which i really suspected was pure rubbing alcohol...but it didn't kill me, so i guess they're forgiven.

anywho, we bat a couple messages around, and now i have a new myspace friend. hopefully i can catch him at one of the cons this year. not this year i suspect, but maybe next year i can make it to san diego....i'll have better sleeping arrangements this time.
