Even I wouldn't want to read this one.
Well work last night was full of drama to a degree. The boss of the food service (my direct boss) told us that our district manager was initiating a lot of changes including sending in paid anonymous people to test certain people for certain things and if they are caught, they are fired and cannot get unemployment because we were all warned. She told us what specific things they'd be looking for and to be completely honest I don't do any of them so I am not worried about being terminated during this time period. But it's creating an undesirable situation. Apparently a lot of changes will take place over the next month. And as of this second it makes me think that it might be time to move on. I enjoy it there but if these changes make it less enjoyable it definitely won't be worth the money I pay in gas to get to and from the job. Right now the job is just adding another dimension of stress from another front and it's all adding/building up.
I received a text message from Jenn
invisibleinkling that she was in an accident with her friend Geoff on their way to a play she was going to see after work. I don't like to give out certain details when it involves other people but I am sure that she'll mention it plenty when she gets back. But they kept her overnight for observation according to the second text message she sent me around midnight and that she'd let me know what's up but I haven't heard back yet. Send her your thoughts and prayers.
This stuff keeps happening to my friends. Chad's work related stuff and some other things. My friend at work who's torn apart by her son's wanting his father and having him curse their 4 year old son out to spite her along with other issues at work that are separate from ours. Jenn's accident and other general rough times. I feel like I'm the common denominator Maybe if anyone who even partially knows me has any happy stories with anything going on in their life would share it with me I wouldn't feel like the jinx. But right now it seems that way.
Does anyone have the Rhapsody-To-Go software to integrate a Sandisk Sansa MP3 player with the PC? I can't find my software disc that came with the player and when I go to the Rhapsody site I can log into their online service but it won't verify my login credentials to download their To-Go software. The online service is pretty sweet because I can save playlists and listen to any of the songs that they offer from any PC/Laptop with internet access. The only problem is that I need the To-Go software to transfer the songs to my mp3 player. Please let me know if you have it. Thanks a ton.
Well I have some stuff to take care of and lunch to eat before I go in to work.
I hope things are looking up more for you.
Have a great day!

Got my new PC, purchased a wireless router and a USB wireless adapter and set up my own network! This way I didn't have to run cables or open up my PC case unnecessarily to install a wireless card. Got them both on sale! And it will be simple to add Chad's computer to the network once he can purchase one. So now I will be back online and can continue work on the many projects I had to leave dormant for quite some time.
I am watching Starship Troopers. God I love this movie! One of the very few movies that I would have paid to see in the theaters FIVE times! I was afraid that it wouldn't be as thrilling on a TV screen so I caught it in the theaters until it left them. The second movie NEVER should have been made. It was a miserable experience. But they are planning a third one or atleast had been and it sounds like it will be a return to the form of the first one which will get me into the theaters...guaranteed. If it comes to theaters. But it definitely should. The second one was straight-to-dvd and quite frankly should have been, straight-to-trash-bin if you ask me.
We are still working on the apartment after the move. The move itself would require oh so much time to tell all of the stories that I'd have to dedicate two weeks' worth of constant entries about it. So suffice to say that it didn't all go as smoothly as it could have. But I will say that it's a damned good thing that we got the insurance on the truck. I didn't want to drive around this town without the insurance.
We're settling in pretty well and I like how things are coming out. But despite the gas company lighting our water heater, we still have no hot water. Which means MANY cold (and I mean COLD) showers. Haven't had an even semi-impure thought in three weeks now! And what's more than that...the hot water knobs on the two faucets in the apartment do nothing at all. I'd atleast expect cold water to come out but absolutely nothing comes out. And the washer leaked pretty badly when I tried to use it so we've had to use the laundromat at the bottom of the hill. You might imagine how expensive that is since we're technically in the city. Sucks. But hopefully we'll get all of these things taken care of. And then...hopefully finally get our damned keys so that we can actually lock the doors while all three of us are gone and at night since Chad gets home before I usually wake up in the mornings when he works third shift. And no lease. So we're lookin' at possibly not paying the month's rent. All those things and the fact that the landlord lets himself into our apartment freely while none of us are home may keep us from paying.
There's plenty more to cover but I'll hit one more topic and then let you go for the night. The band. We are coming along amazingly well. We sound like we've been playing together for 5 years when we've practice as a four piece only 4 or 5 times so far. It feels as if we've played together forever. The songs have the feel and energy that they deserve and that people deserve to hear! I had a show booked for July 6th but it was moved to the 27th. By trying to book the band that will open for us I've made many friends as far as bands go and have a handful already looking for shows of theirs to book us for.
I got a message on myspace from one of the bands that we really like asking us if we could play an 11:45pm set on Wednesday. Now at first I felt that I shouldn't even bother bringing it up to the guys but after a few phone calls and myspace messages we confirmed that we will play the show! I wasn't sure that Vinnie and Brian would be able to do it. But Vinnie told me, "Hell yeah I'm up for it...who needs sleep?" and I believe that he's the one that the time slot affects the most. This would not have happened with our previous lineup. But we want to accept every show possible. A) you never know who will be there to see what you can do B) you never know what other bands you'll impress and make friends with who will help you get more shows C) you never know how many new fans you'll make when they very well may never have heard of you if you hadn't played the show...and many other reasons. But at this rate it looks like we can have plenty of shows to play with a minimum of work on my part. If the shows are offered...alls I have to do is ask the guys if they can do it and that's about it. I don't have to scour for shows. How long will it last? Who knows. But I feel that it could be a continuous thing which would be great because it leaves more time for whatever else I need to worry about aside from work and allow more time for just perfecting our craft.
If you haven't heard our newest stuff please go to
our myspace profile and listen. I am still trying to work on getting the third song up but I need to further compress the mp3 file to get it to fit in under the filesize limit they have. Please feel free to add us if you have a myspace account. We could use some awesome friends =0)
Well that's it for now. Have to wake up to laundry and work on our site a little more before work. But I'll be back soon. Count on it!
