Welcome to the Merrick

Quote
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous,
talented and fabulous.
Actually, who are you not to be?

was chatting with a sec sch fren at starbucks just now, and we started talking about regrets.

"a life lived without regrets is a regret in itself."
-she said

her take: a life without regrets means a life lived without misadventure, without risks taken and a life spent toeing the line.

my take: a life without regrets is merely not brooding over sth tht should have, will have, might have been done. Not brooding/being bitter over mistakes that has happened. a mistake is part of the road that have led you to the life you are living now.

IF i had studied harder, i would have scored better in my O's I would not be in SPSB. Am i regreting that? Not really, I'm enjoying my poly life, my poly friends, and even my lecturers.
IF i worked harder, i might do better in exams. Nah...
IF there was a chance for me not falling out with my THAT sec sch friend, would i have done things differently? Dun think so. I did treasure the friendship we had. But, that friendship has ended and thats that.

I dun see the point regretting. If there is anyway sth can be mended or mitigated by your current actions. den do it. if there isn't anyway to absolve your mistake. den y waste time regretting and imagining what might have been? nothing is gonna change.

quote Chris Cheong: "There is no such thing as hope", and i add: neither is there such a thing as "What IF"

a mistake, cliche as it may sound, is sth i can learn from. Y should i regret a learning opportunity? or my choice/actions/inaction that have moved mi along my life?

Live now and for the future. the past is over. Get a grip.
