i exhausted my patience with the internet early on...tried to draw but i was startin to get sleepy from the antibiotics, so i took a 2 hour nap....when i woke up i was extremely disoriented, but i shook myself out of it and lounged some more...watched some stupid tv (why is it that i feel compelled to watch shit like that ONLY when im sick?) i tried out a new tarot deck today...ive had the deck for over 2 years, but today was the first time i felt compelled to use it...not too bad...i havent used a deck for introspection in a LONG time so i was a little shakey at first, but it started to feel really natural after a while...i might use this deck for a while instead of rohrig. i think ill actually do tomorrows "spell a day" almanac spell.

chris got home and we ran to acme (yay, my field trip today!), made dinner, and watched a movie about edward gein (mmm yummy)

now im here, feelin kinda sleepy...i have to do my nasal spray still....can i tell you how much i HATE nasal spray...i do...a lot...it took me at least 5 minutes of staring at it to work up the courage to actually spray it...i just....dont like it.

so thats that...ill catch you all on the flip side...

Today started really well, with the news I brought you this morning.
When I finally managed to make it out of bed I decided I needed to make a doctor appointment. I called and arranged one that should've let me still go to work, just maybe 30 minutes or so late.
I got a few things done and headed out to my appointment. The doctor I saw this time was really nice. He gave me a nasal spray, a puff disk, a note for Mucinex and ocean saline, and a prescription for antibiotics (which cost me $130). Then he sent me and my grab bag of treatments to the hospital for a chest x-ray. At this point it's clear I'm not making it to work, so I call in, only to get fucking reamed for not going in! Jeez, because this morning I said how much I wanted to miss work to have my chest prodded and x-rayed, because if I could've gone tomorrow on my day off I'd have still inconvenienced everyone (Chris and myself included) to have radiation shot through my flesh! I was so upset I almost cried in the parking lot. Chris wasn't happy about spending a few hours of his night immediately after work sitting with me in a hospital, and then that? By the way, I'm fine, thanks. I've got pneumonia, which means I get to call and tell them I won't be in until I get the ok, which will be at least Tuesday.

So we headed home after 2 hours sitting in the lobby waiting for them to get in touch with the doctor so he could give me instructions. We got Taco Bell on the way home, and Chris was nice enough to let us just eat it there. Got my meds (which, as I said before, were nice and expensive), and now here I am. Sick, sore, tired, and currently writing my drug routine on some sticky notes or I'll forget all the layers.

While we were sitting and waiting, I saw two things on the news that made me think. The shorter of the two was Anna Nicole Smith's death. The first thing to cross my mind was "There goes Trim Spa's Ad Campaign"

The second thing was all the controversy over the HPV vaccine. Now the main argument against it seems to be that it will promote premarital sex. For one, this vaccine will protect these girls for the rest of their lives, not just now. At some point these girls WILL have sex, and they'll be protected from something that causes a fatal disease. HPV is 99% undetectable in men, which means that a girl could wait until marriage and end up marrying a man who carries it. Then what? I was the most careful person on earth with who I slept with, and I still got it. Luckily, it cleared up, and is no longer active in my system. Yes, sometimes it goes away. I'm tired of parents who don't know the facts NOT protecting their daughters because of their high horses. These are the parents who will end up with highly uneducated daughters who will wnd up pregnant at 15, or worse, extremely sick with things a LOT worse than HPV.

work was REALLY long today...
not because of work itself, but because of this cough...
the pain its causing in my abdominal/chest/back/neck/shoulder muscles is almost unbearable...

we went to the auto show tonight.
i got to see the boeing eclipse...it was painted kinda funny (albeit blue), but it was pretty for a convertible
i took lots of pictures...so stay tuned
i wish there were more classics there...i really need to find the hot rod shows next year...i always hear about em after the fact, dammit.

we got home and i realized when chad told me about the dog peeing on the floor he never mopped it...
there was also snow melting salt ALL over the bathroom, which is really bad for the dog...
for one, its caustic for his feet, and 2...what if he'd ingested some? gah!
so i swept, then i figured id mop...only to get the floor all wet and soapy and have the mop fall apart..
sooooo....i had to finish with paper towels on my hands and knees...NOT how my lungs needed to be abused tonight.

chris went to bed a little while ago, and im here trying to relax enough to be able to actually sleep...and avoid another scene like last night...please,lungs, let me sleep!
